The "Say Something Random" Thread
lapseofreason replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
People on Mentor Ave. drive like idiots, if I'm thinking of the same place as you (somewhere in Lake County, Ohio?). Oh, and for my random thing: I also have 20th row Roger Waters tickets. In Las Vegas. This will rule. -
Cool update.. Haha, look at the season pass processing line in the last photo... OK, and that Johnny Rockets banner was NOT THERE on Friday. I swear to (insert preferred deity here) they took it down just to fudge with me. Here are some pics from my trip on Friday (the first 2 are from different days though.) And I think my husband is either ready to use said chicken exit or go home. I choose the latter... Thanks for reading! Stupid log ride killed my hair Because we all know Revolution definitely needs this chicken exit (snickers), here it is. A bit later... remember my "hidden Revolution queue" a few months ago? Well, here's the other end I thought this was a nice shot, lots of little waterfalls It's weird how much the log tilted, stuck there, with only 2 people in it Haha, I think the log is sinking Best part of the day: after Scream, Riddler, and Goliath, we got stuck on... that's right, LOG JAMMER!!! Woohoo! Thank cookies I was waiting for the front.. this ENTIRE freaking softball team pretty much filled the train in front of us Ninja's station (and track) got some love As usual, the first thing we did was get my husband's free Flash Passes and hit up Tatsu See? I have my OWN pic of Flashback not being touched. :blows raspberry:

I got off work early yesterday, so we decided to go ride a few things before the park closed. A few mediocre things I noticed: -Stuff was closed on and off during the day due to the rain (Superman, Ninja, etc.) Right when we got to Superman it closed (stupid bad timing), and I never saw Ninja running. -Stuff I saw closed: Log Jammer, Roaring Rapids, Tidal Wave (all bone dry), Freefall, Ninja, Superman, Deja Vu -It really wasn't that crowded. Right when I got there at 1 pm 2 busloads of school kids from Mexico arrived too though. Apparently a lot of kids decided to skip school too. -Also, Tatsu and X were empty (I got my first front row ride on Tatsu yesterday, it rocked... X hurt like hell) but Riddler and Goliath were jammed. WTF? -The exchange student people from Thailand are back -Yes, Flashback is still standing. -I didn't go over towards Psyclone, so I don't know about Buongusto, but there wasn't a "coming soon" sign on Carousel Grill (maybe because of the rain, I dunno?) I think that's about it. I was going to go tomorrow but I heard about a few events going on, and apparently USC is already on Spring Break, so this was probably my last trip until at least after Spring Break (ugh).

I don't want the rock, but I'll take your pool... I have no idea where I'd put it, but... -
Wow, that looks REALLY weird. (The first picture is now my desktop wallpaper). I tried to go yesterday... can someone explain to me why, at 10 am, there were at least 50 cars backed up in all the parking lanes, which made it a half-hour wait to the stupid parking booth, which subsequently killed the battery on my husband's car from hitting the brake lights too much...anyways, WTF? I think that ends my "Let's go to SFMM on a Saturday" experiment. Anyways... I hope they make good use of that land... like kraxleRIDAH said, I really don't think they should put another coaster there. Everything else needs to get fixed up first. Good riddance, Psyclone! I only rode it once but it will always hold my title of Worst Coaster Ever!

My husband and I were thinking about going this Saturday, but I went to the website and... oh, God no, it says it's the cheerleading championships... Does this event usually jam the park beyond the normal weekend crowds? And if so, is it like the choir days or whatever where they're stuck in the Golden Bear Theatre for long periods of time? (I think we managed to skip this day last year). thanks in advance. -Amanda

Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
lapseofreason replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So... wait.. that WHOLE section of the park that they turned into a waterpark (that used to be the little kid area, behind Skyscraper), they left to rot, and built a whole new one on the Sea World side? wow. I may need to make a trip out there soon and see how much my "home park" has changed! -

^True.... the last time I went to the "animal side" was in about 2001, during Six Flags' era, and to be quite honest, I thought it was already going down then. Most of the flats (what were there) weren't running, and the place was pretty deserted. So, actually, I hate to ask, but what's really up with that side of the park now since they took out all the fish and stuff? -

When did they take the monorail out?! That sucks!!! -
Prince sucked (he did have kickass pyrotechnics that put Pink Floyd to shame, however), the commercials sucked, and if I hear one more word about the Patriots I'm going to hurl. Oh, and I can't even imagine how much MORE press coverage Peyton Manning is going to get after this game (I couldn't stand the guy before, now it's even worse). Stupidest. Super. Bowl. Ever. -amanda

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
lapseofreason replied to coasterman7's topic in Random, Random, Random
^um, Dumbledore's already dead. Oh, and I call Hermione and... uh... Lupin for the deaths. -
In 2002, when I first moved here, I worked at Universal Studios Hollywood for a month (I left because I moved up here to the north Valley and I don't drive yet). I worked in that one little restaurant right next to the Jurassic Park ride. It was an OK job; I really liked the atmosphere of working in a park though. I'd do it again.

Aqua Teen Hunger BOMB!!!!!!!!!!
lapseofreason replied to Neogreeneyez's topic in Random, Random, Random
People are stupid. After 9/11 now, they think EVERYTHING is a bomb or a *terrorist plot* first... "OMG, LIGHTS SHAPED LIKE A SHAKE!! IT'S A SECRET AL QAEDA MESSAGE!!!" ...I wonder where these things are in LA, I haven't seen one yet (if they haven't since been taken down)... ... and I definitely want one. Weird light things rock. EDIT: Post #600! Yeah! -

It sucks that he died, but it must be nice to spend tens of thousands of dollars keeping a horse alive. -
Happy 18th birthday Jahan!!!
lapseofreason replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Random, Random, Random
This is a day late, but I hope you had a good birthday! -
Wild & Crazy Kids was cool! I still remember the one where they rode Colossus at SFMM, RACING, (before I knew what Colossus even was), with cups of water and whatever team had the most water at the end of the ride won. That would be cool.

Something new at Screamscape...
lapseofreason replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't usually visit Screamscape but Lance made a LOT of good points about what they need to do to "fix" SFMM... I could see how a lot of his ideas would work. I'll have to keep checking up on this blog! -Amanda "Make the damn waterpark free" V.
