  1. I think I have only tried California Rolls, in buffets (good ones, mind you) at that... the first time I ate one bite and did not like it AT ALL. The last time, it was tolerable. Maybe the next time, or if I try a different kind, I will like it... it takes me a while to get accustomed to new food
  2. This year has been... average. As it always is. I think I got a whopping 4 credits this year (Tatsu, Deja Vu and Canyon Blaster at SFMM, and the West Coaster in Santa Monica). I visited THREE whole parks (woohoo!): Pacific Park in Santa Monica (which I shouldn't even count), I think we went to the Adventuredome in Vegas in January... and God, I think we've been to SFMM somewhere around 30 times this year alone. Maybe more. I lost count in May. In all, I need to hit more parks. At least if I really need a coaster fix this winter I can go to SFMM again. Bwahahaha.
  3. I have to leave for work. Like, right this second. Ugh. (walks out the door)
  4. ^ROFL, smallest update ever! To answer the question above, I would have loved to see the park before they completed the loop. I mean, not many parks (well, no parks) have as many coasters as us, so we're kinda spoiled in that department. It would be nice to see what the place looked like before they totally trashed/neglected everything and focused on throwing in a bunch of (awesome) coasters instead
  5. %&*(^&%^$%( STUPID CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!!!! -Amanda 'Go RAMS" V.
  6. ^rofl, that's pretty cool. thanks
  7. OK, I will start you off, since no one has. I'd like a signature saying that I like both Pink Floyd and SFMM. If you go to Google and look for images of both (Tatsu is my favorite coaster there) you should come up with something cool. thanks, dude!
  8. cool! for a few years in school, for spanish class, we got to have a "dia de los muertos" celebration and make the sweet breads... they are REALLY good. I mean, people that were not in my class used to pay me to eat some! ROFL! looking forward to your photo report, I always wondered how it is to celebrate that holiday
  9. What IS Vegemite anyways? I've always heard that it's good but have no idea what it's made of.
  10. Cool, I just noticed I started posting here a year ago today.
  11. ^^Dude, if you're so into looking at other coasters while going up a lift hill, check out Flashback next time you're on Goliath. THAT train's been sitting there for 3 years. And has it opened? No. So yeah, just because there's a train in the station doesn't mean the ride has been operating recently. -Amanda "Stupid X" V.
  12. ROFL, I was going to cook the seeds but I didn't feel like it. They are good though
  13. DISCLAIMER: No live pumpkins were harmed in the making of this Photo TR. I had a few more pictures, but my camera decided to use the flash constantly for some weird reason, and I can't un-carve a pumpkin... so... here it is. ...And here it is lit up. Thanks for looking and happy Halloween! Cool. Skulls rock. Ah... it seems Mr. Dead Pumpkin has decided to take on another life form Once I had poked holes to transfer the design (yep, another picture killed by the flash), Mr. Dead Pumpkin gets the first nasty cut to his face Then I taped the pattern of the design I wanted to carve onto the pumpkin. Haha, the flash worked out good this time... you can't see what I'm carving yet, bwahahaha. ...which then went down the garbage disposal of doom Stupid flash... but here is a bowl of guts This one really didn't come out, but a spoon was needed to dig out the inside The first cut is made. Mr. Pumpkin, you will be missed. :sniff: I put down some newspaper, just in case, then set out my "lobotomy" tools and a bowl to hold the brai.... uh, I mean pumpkin guts Mr. Pumpkin does not know he is about to meet his gruesome death
  14. Pink Arcadia. you heard it here first.. where's my royalties? ROFL
  15. I'm not saying that it's hard to put them on the side, it just irks me sometimes to get off a ride and find my stuff surrounded by (and in one instance, nearly buried in) people's stinky shoes, no matter where I put it in the station. Like I said before, I mean, if you want to wear them, be my guest... I just don't get why (see my earlier reply).
  16. IIRC, the last time I saw X operating was the end of July. The first time I remember seeing it busted/down was in the middle of August. As for Spin Out, I think it's just a staffing issue like the rest of the stuff that was down when I was there Friday (oh yeah, I don't think that was on my list... oops).
  17. SFMM is open year-round, but only weekends and holidays from October thru the end of March, or whenever spring break happens to fall. The rest of the year is daily operation. EDIT: 500th post! WOOHOO!
  18. I still don't get why people wear flip flops, untied skate shoes, etc. to amusement parks. You know you're going to go on coasters that might make you lose your shoes. I mean, do these people have a desire to get their feet dirty or something? I can't even imagine walking across some of the stations I've seen, especially at SFMM, with bare feet. Either that or you've just ruined a perfectly good pair of socks. Ew. But to answer the topic, no, I've never been asked to remove my shoes before a ride.
  19. I really didn't notice (I think I was more cheesed off about Ninja being closed than thinking about the tower). But with how much stuff was closed when I was there, it was probably down as well.
  20. My husband and I were there last night (from about 3 pm to close), and were NOT impressed. Every time we've been this year, the operations keep getting more and more horrible. The first thing we rode was Tatsu with Flash Pass. Tatsu was using only one side of the station and 2 trains, which still meant 5-7 minute dispatches. Took us about 25 minutes to get on, including about a 5 minute period where the employees were arguing about why the phone wasn't working or something, over the PA, no less. From there it pretty much went downhill. The park was sort of crowded (from what we could see, we counted a fat-kid camp and like 2 church groups), not to mention the countless high school kids that got dropped off by someone's parents. Now, this wouldn't usually be too much of a problem, but with the way the park was being run, we only managed to get on 6 rides: Tatsu, Goldrusher (1 train operation), Batman twice(which was empty for some reason), Scream! (1 train but by then everyone was waiting for either Goliath, Riddler, Tatsu or the mazes so it was a short wait), and Goliath. Goliath had one of the longest lines I'd seen (waaay into the switchbacks). So we wasted a Flash Pass, got up into the station, and guess what? 1 train. On a Friday night. At 8:30. We wait through about 5 or 6 trains, then guess what? THEY FREAKING PUT ANOTHER TRAIN ON! Why would they do that if the park's closing in an hour and a half? They should have done it earlier in the afternoon... WTF? I leave you with a list of closed rides, half of which weren't on the list at the ticket booths (this is ridiculous). Atom Smasher Buccaneer Circus Wheel (I didn't see it testing, but it's put back together) Flashback (for the sake of continuity) Freefall Jet Stream: We tried to get on at 4pm(!) and they were closed Ninja Orient Express Scrambler Sierra Twist EDIT: Spin Out was closed too. Whoops. Swashbuckler Tidal Wave X: still busted Don't know about Deja Vu or Psyclone as I didn't go over to that area of the park. Oh, and we went in 2 mazes: Jokesters Hideout (which at no point were we offered to buy 3D glasses), and Willoughby's Mansion. Both were ok. Sorry about the length, but the amount of closed rides really cheesed me off. Boy, when X is closed, does this park stink. Maybe we'll go again in December. Until then, I hope SFMM starts to get their act together (hahaha).
  21. The last rides I totally freaked out while waiting in line for were Insanity on top of the Stratosphere (I have a picture somewhere that my husband took of me, totally scared, waiting in line) and, a little, X and Deja Vu (the VERY first time I rode them) at Magic Mountain.
  22. Roger Waters! October 8th, Hollywood Bowl. (Edited for drunken stupidity... )
  23. I just read this on the main page of my ISP. Crap, we're toast now. Once they get a little, a lot is not far behind.... -Amanda "I'm moving to Canada, who wants to go with me before N. Korea nukes us" V.
  24. ^Crud. -Amanda "Between this and X, December is looking like the next and last time I'll use my season pass this year" V.
