  1. Now THAT would rule. Kinda like one of the rides they originally proposed, where a coaster train dropped down the side of the tower and across Las Vegas Blvd. Check out http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com and click on "dreams" to see how much this would have ruled! -Amanda
  2. Thanks for the positive TR, it makes me want to think about actually going there someday. I've heard it's kinda screwed up b/c of the area it's in but because of your TR I will consider going. -Amanda
  3. SFMM only...and more than likely stuff in Las Vegas if that counts (need I say Adventuredome?). -Amanda
  4. Noooo! I've only been on that once! And there's no way I can get there and ride it again in a week! Waaahhh... I love you, High Roller.. so fun and cheap to boot.... I'll just to have to express my sorrow by riding your (S&Ster) Big Shot... -Amanda "RIP High Roller, you were a cheap thrill just like the rest of Vegas" Vincelli
  5. Since our passes expire in a week and a half, my husband and I decided to go to Magic Mountain today and make it an overly sweet 17 visits this year! Arrived in Valencia about 9:15, parked about a mile away in a shopping center. (Hey, there weren't any weird time limit signs, and the car was still there when we got back!) Anyways... walked to the park and it was about 9:45. The lines didn't seem too bad, the usual sheep lining up behind 2 turnstiles, backed up to the detectors. Got in the park and headed over to X (we had skipped it the past few visits, mainly due to the stupid wind closing it in the morning). Surprise -- X was actually up and running when the park opened! Got on about the 4th car, where I learned that the outside is WAY rougher than the inside seat. My husband loved it (no wonder he didn't really like the previous 4 or 5 rides). By the time we got off X it looked like the line was already about 3 or 4 hours long (it was up to the soda machines under that mist awning). Tried to go on Viper but IT was crowded due to a) the people who didn't want to wait for X and b) clueless people trying to walk thru Rapids Camp and getting shut down, then deciding to just go on Viper. Headed over to Goliath. Station was virtually empty and we rode 3 times in a row, 1 from the front row. Question: Is there always a train sitting in the station of Flashback? For some reason, I just noticed it this morning. Got a $1 soda refill (man, I love those souvenir cups from 2 years ago) and went on Scream. It seemed smoother to me, but my husband said he got whacked around a lot, especially on that first inversion after the loop. Decided to pass on Colossus since we'd been on it before this year and it wasn't that great (I still wish they'd race it). Batman wasn't that crowded, only about a 2 train wait (and 1 train operating). We got up to the station and voila, someone had hurled during the ride. They sent the train thru, hosed it off, etc. I would hate to be the person who sat in that seat afterwards! I love Batman, it's tight and really fast. The station now reeked of hurl whiff; I was glad to get out of there. Headed over to Riddler.... wow. The station was COMPLETELY FREAKING EMPTY... at somewhere around 12 noon (I didn't have a watch on)! Seriously, they were running 2 trains and there were 2 people waiting near the back and 2 train wait in the front row. Naturally, we waited for the front since we hadn't ridden before. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It was way smoother than the rest of the train and I could entirely feel the airtime that was spoken of in another thread. Rode twice and decided to go get lunch (off-site of course). Another question: What's that orange/brown building hiding/fenced off behind the basketball game thing, near the climbing wall? Anyone? Came back into the park about 1:15 (I think the first lot still wasn't even full) and decided to try and hit Viper again. Stupid mistake. It was still filled with X/Rapids Camp rejects. Waited anyways, and magically, there was an obnoxious group of people spanning about 4 gates that kept switching places with each other in order to ride together, thus prolonging our wait. 30 minutes. For Viper. Ouch. Yep, it was painful (except from the front row). Now it was about 1:45 and getting kinda late. Wandered back to Goliath, waited about 10-15 minutes for the middle. Decent ride, but kinda monotonous as we realized from the brake run at the end that this was probably our 60th ride on Goliath this year (sheesh). After that, we decided to leave as we were kinda worried about the situation of the car (I swear, next time we're getting the pass that has free parking). That and we didn't really feel like walking up Samurai Summit, and then all the way back around. (There wasn't really that much new construction going on from yesterday's update anyways, not that I could see. The lift hill did look awesome in person though !) On the way out, I decided I couldn't leave a near 80-degree day without a ride on Log Jammer. Not too bad of a wait and we didn't get too soaked. (I love log flumes). -Amanda
  6. Yeah, I know that all too well.
  7. <-didn't ride Colossus today, we'd been on it enough this year.
  8. OK, seriously.. I'm broke. The only reason I'm going is arrowfanman said it was dead and our passes expire next week.
  9. Hey, that's really funny. Can I swipe it for my signature? -amanda
  10. I've heard talk of people parking off-site and walking up the hill, thus eliminating the stupid 10 dollar parking fee. Question: is there anywhere around there where I can park, with no time limit or the threat of getting towed? (I know, not any of those restaurants where there's signs every two feet.) Any info would help before Thursday/tomorrow morning, thanks! (I just don't want to pay 10 freaking dollars to park!) -Amanda
  11. Which One's Pink? (a Pink Floyd tribute) at Paladino's in Tarzana, CA ... 12/10/05. Great show. These guys are awesome. http://www.whichonespink.com -Amanda
  12. Barbra Streisand, who was so distraught after this she jumped off a bridge and....
  13. David Gilmour's playing 2 dates in Los Angeles next year! Woohoo, I'm so excited!
  14. The last movie I saw was King Kong. It kicked total butt! Two words: T-rex fight. Naomi Watts was awesome, the historical aspect was spot on, and I didn't know Jack Black was actually that decent of an actor. I highly recommend this movie! -Amanda
  15. <--Queen of multiple posts (especially if I haven't been on in a few days!) -amanda
  16. That reminds me of when I was in high school and some science teacher dumped a five gallon drum of ammonia or something over. We got to stand outside for like 2 hours and then finally they sent us home early... every group was applauding the guy when he told us we could go home. Sorry, it's nostalgia night. -Amanda
  17. Anyone remember this... I was watching some kids show about 10 years ago where they all took glasses of liquid on Colossus or The Beast or some other woodie and whoever didn't spill that much was the winner... ...sorry, that just reminded me of stuff. -Amanda
  18. I WAS BORN.... but i was 3 years old Me too
  19. AAAA!!!! THANK YOU ROBB!!!! -Amanda "I love Shockwave, even though I've never ridden it" V.
  20. ^^&^(^&* (/homer simpson). You just made my morning. My husband rode this coaster once (waited 4 hours for it to open at SFMM) and he claims it's the best ever. I'd die to ride it!
  21. Dude, there is nothing cooler than crashing coasters in sandbox. It's even better in RCT3!
  22. I CAN'T DECIDE!!! You should have put a "both" choice on there
