  1. It wiould most likely be going under the entrance. Carowinds facebook gave that hint. https://www.facebook.com/carowindspark/photos/a.10151648123373599.1073741826.91085023598/10152618459743599/?type=1&theater
  2. Also keep in mind that Busch Gardens can look more crowded due to their narrower paths and less spread out layout.
  3. I keep thinking they are either moving the Wild Mouse and putting it indoors with themeing, or getting rid of the old one and putting in a spinning one indoors. They would use the space formerly taken for more Boardwalk expansion.
  4. I thought the woman doing the bumper cars last week was hilarious. This kid kept going against the traffic of the other cars, which even at Knoebels you aren't supposed to do. And the whole ride she just sat there and said into the mic, "You're going the wrong way." over and over again, but she just said it without any conviction. She sounded like Ben Stein in Ferris Beuler's Day Off. And she never stopped the ride or anything.
  5. I think Justice League would be a good theme idea too, as a warm up for the movie coming out in 3 years. But that's a bit early for a ride of that theme. I suppose it's possible SFGAdv or SFGAm could be giving up their Batman wild mouse and it could be put into SFOT. Maybe it could even be rethemed a bit to Justice League or Batman Vs. Superman or heck, even Looney Tunes.
  6. Probably some 15 year old who thought it would be hilarious did it. Believe it or not, some idiot replied on Facebook that this was due to the park's bag search policies being shoddy. I really should learn not to read comments on news stories.
  7. I really really wish that KD would invest the money to put all the water park on the far side of Rebel Yell, leaving the old part for theme park expansion. I gave up on this when they added the funnel slide to the old section though.
  8. There is a McDonalds across the street from Dorney. Seriously, the food there is not good. Get a hand stamp, eat and go back in. The Hersheypark food is kind of meh, I can't think of one place in particular there to eat, though Spring Creek Smokehouse isn't bad (when it's not crowded) and Gourmet Grille and Overlook Food Court up by the Kissing Tower aren't bad either.
  9. Hey, I just want a new flat ride or two next year. It's a two year 40th anniversary celebration so they could add new rides similar to old ones taken out. I could see Carowinds sending their Scream Weaver (an enterprise) to KD, though I hope they don't because they too have a lack of flat rides.
  10. Every time I pass that building, I hope it falls into the water it's located over.
  11. I don't think there ever was much shade at Kentucky Kingdom. The new additions look fantastic, though. Park kinda reminds me of Carowinds the way it was in the 1990s.
  12. ^ Yeah, that's what I mean. At concerts I get disappointed when people just sit down with arms crossed all the time, but at theme parks, I'm typically sweating and want the ride to get moving to give me a cool-down. And I'll usually humor the ride ops when they try to get everyone pumped, but sometimes they'll try 4 or 5 times, and by that point, I'm like "Come, on, I'm dyin' here! There's no fans or AC here!"
  13. Because some of us just aren't very vocal riders, and it IS annoying to be forced to do something you consider stupid and meaningless in order to enjoy your ride.
  14. I actually prefer the operators not try to pump up the train, as it usually tends to do nothing. "How was that ride?!" *Crickets chirp* I find it kind of annoying when they refuse to let trains go until they get a response, like I've had happen at some Six Flags parks.
  15. If only I had the money to back up there this year... Sadly, with the northeast trip I'm taking this year, and Florida next year, it'll be a while. Still, pictures are good!
  16. Interesting to see that Six Flags doesn't even know where their own coasters reside. GASM at Six Flags Over Texas, huh?
  17. If I can still enjoy my rides on Steel Force at Dorney Park or Magnum at CP, which has had seat belts for many years, people can enjoy Diamondback with seatbelts too. And I doubt they'd effect the ride as much as the belts do on the Arrow and Morgan ones anyway. This isn't like when Magic Mountain added OTSRs to Revolution.
  18. ^Actually, since 2002, when Diamond Falls closed at Kings Dominion a few parks have gotten rid of the shoot the chutes attractions. SFNE, SFGAm, Knotts... I can't blame them either. The rides just go up a hill, turn, and come back down, turn, the end... Besides, since combined water parks have become so popular, especially at Holiday World, these kind of rides aren't needed as much. And the chutes rides take up a lot of space.
  19. I was thinking something along the lines of Cheetah Hunt.
  20. Steel -Mindbender at SFOG Wood - Jack Rabbit (Kennywood) or The Boss (SFSt.L) Gotta say, some people have an odd idea of what constitutes terrain!
  21. I don't know if it's the same level of work, but RY has been being retracked since 2009. In 2008 is was very rough, at the rise into the turnaround was like spinal roulette, you never knew how it would shake you. I stopped riding it for a while until I resolved to learn the exact timed foot push to help deal with it. In '09 that spot was stood out in its smoothness. Since then they have added more retracking, but some rough valleys on the return and some of the older retracking is getting rough again. Yeah, I noticed when I went last year that it didn't seem as rough as the last time I'd ridden it. (Which was 2010 I think.) I remember back in the mid-2000s it got really rough and that's when I stopped riding it for a while. It had gotten about as bad as Thunder Road was at that time.
  22. Why does Six Flags take so long to update their park maps on their websites? I don't think any of the parks have this year's maps up.
  23. ^ May I suggest you not go into any of the Sea World threads...
  24. This is great. It looks like a project KECO would have done if the technology had been available. Have I mentioned that I'm so happy the Paramount era, and indeed the Kinsel era of Cedar Fair is over?
  25. I've been riding the ride for 21 years. It was rough. I've never had a problem with Grizzly. Grizzly's roughness is mainly due to lateral forces, which I like. Rebel Yell some years has had the washboard effect, and I had back problems for 3 weeks after riding it one year.
