  1. It seems SFA is finally getting out of the "forgotten phase".
  2. Oh ya, the vertical spikes would prevent that from happening, since your upper body would be in a very uncomfotable position. EDIT: This is about if they put lap bars on Goliath
  3. I'm talking about recent history, not what happened 10 years ago, but the last 5 years. Also, think of this: What happened after 2001? The largest investment was Thomas Town which is a small investment. EDIT: OK, I think I put the wrong fact down: Not that Six Flags didn't invest much into the park, but didn't invest that much in the park recently since 2002, it is true that they did do a lot of good investments in the turn of the century.
  4. You do know that "above ground" tunnels can be built like the Demon which poses no threat to anything as the Demon's tunnel survived many earthquakes.
  5. A hyper can easily go into most parks, just look at Phantom's Revenge & Goliath (SFOG) for example which was fit beautifully in without that much removal.
  6. Nobody hates the park (well maybe some), though it is more that it's an odd theme park because: -Ride placement is horrible, coasters are put in there abnormally -Six Flags didn't invest that much into the park -Gotham City just looks horrible -Batwing looks abandoned -Mind Eraser has goofy colors Really, the only coasters that look fitting are Superman & Wild One, the rest of the coasters seem to be put in without thought.
  7. That would be odd if they were lap-bar only.
  8. The previous pictures that show Skyrush make me laugh that Great Bear doesn't have a single support going into the water when it seems that Skyrush's support placement in the water is like it's not even there. I mean look how much effort B&M put in to put that one huge support connecting to the track in the middle of the lake in that banked turn.
  9. Though, if Pandemonium was going to SFM, wouldn't Six Flags make an announcement a long time ago? I mean, it's not much of a big secret to not say where it is going.
  10. I just though of this: If the neighbors complain about a new roller coaster being built, why don't they compain about a new stadium being built with loud construction noises and screaming fans and loud games when the stadium opens. Also, isn't the stadium being built on the overflow lot? Plus, because of the new parking garage being built, Great America would have the same number of parking spots as before if they built the stadium on the overflow. Though, a hyper can be built in a layout with the lift in the same location, then a hammerhead turn, and air-time hills going east parallel with the lift hill, and the rest of the layout behind Flight Deck in the empty field and Flight Deck's lake. Then, only the Pavillion and amphitheater would be torn-down, but NO parking spaces.
  11. Grizzly isn't going anywhere. I think that there will be no more coaster removals since the reason why the presvious three coasters were removed was either by lack of riders, the coaster in the way of an expansion, and a great asset to be moved to another park. I don't see any of the coasters having any of those problems as in all of them, there isn't anything behind them that is valued land except for Flight Deck, though if something were to be built behind Flight Deck in that area, they could tear down the Pavillion, which is worthless and expand over there. As for those who say a hyper can't be built, it could, also a giga cannot be built because of close proximity to San Jose Airport, though a hyper could have a station east of the Pavillion, the lift going over the Pavillion location, the drop in the Redwood Amphitheater location then a hill with a 90 degree turn near the enterance and then an air-time hill, hammerhead turn, and another air-time hill in the parking lot, then another 90 degree turn and some air-time hills and a helix returning to the station in an L-shape layout. This may be difficult to visualize so, here's some diagrams: In Real Life
  12. 2 hours on Medusa just after an hour wait on Sky Screamer and a 1/2 hour wait on Cobra.
  13. I always laugh when I look at that brake run because it looks a lot like a B&M Floorless being built.
  14. Rumor has it Sky Screamer is coming to SFOG and SFA in 2013.
  15. It's funny how people hate Kong & the SLC's so much, but I actually like riding Kong. I think of it as riding a rough wooden coaster and I just love the feeling of unsafeness, even though I know the coaster is safe. Though, I had previous visits on Vortex, in CGA, and nothing can beat that with headbanging, though I really felt minor headbanging on Kong. My ride last week was so fun, that I wanted to ride it again, since it was a walk-on, though my friend didn't want to. So, think of me as some person that can tolerate SLCs, though I'm wondering if fun rides on Kong don't only happen to me?
  16. I had the same dream that I was launched over the top spike. Though, on topic, whenever I ride Roar @ SFDK, whenever I raise my hands I always fear it will hit one of the wooden supports.
  17. The only reason why there was no new rides recently is because of the nearby stadium going to be built and Cedar Fair wanting to sell this place, now that they are not going to sell it, supposedly, new rides will start coming in.
  18. Amazing. I think that color is amazing and is much better than putting blue track, even though it fits with the name Altitude, it would symbolize Leviathan too much.
  19. I'm very excited about this! CGA finally is going to get a NEW coaster! Now, that Cedar Fair has a new CEO & in good shape, I can see CGA's future bright. Actually, I wouldn't be suprised if WindSeeker would be announced in a few weeks, though don't quote me on this, it is just a wild guess.
  20. First ever Arrow Water Coaster. It seems it either will be a B&M Dive Coaster with a splashdown or a Mack Water Coaster.
  21. Exactly. I think there's more of a possibility of seeing a ghost in CGA next year than a new ride.
  22. Maybe the boy who died on the Whizzer cursed the location that no rides can be built there, that's why all those proposals for rides on Whizzer's location never went through.
  23. -Adventuredome -New York-New York Hotel & Casino (If you count as an amusement park) -Nascar Cafe' -California's Great America -Six Flags Discovery Kingdom All I traveled this year was to Vegas & Hawaii, not really a major theme park in either location, especially Hawaii, which has no coasters.
  24. Why couldn't Great America open for that event? It makes no sense when there is that much people going into the parking lot in Great America when the park is closed.
  25. I already know that. Though, if they named the 2013 coaster Mountain Express, it would revive old memories of the coaster.
