  1. OK, so I read all 14 pages of this topic and there is a lot to digest, just like what Robb said. I really like Coaster-Lab's design: Though, it needs clean-up and take those Expedition GeForce pics out of there! Put the sliding menu to the right, shift the updates up, and put a "rotating picture" thingamajiga above everything (except the menu).
  2. You're making this seem like Michigan's Adventure. CGA already has enough flats and already has two family coasters: Woodstock Express & Psycho Mouse I do expect a major roller coaster because look at SFA, they finally got Apocalypse, sure most parks think of this as a horrible addition, but they got something. I do expect somewhat of a major coaster because CGA is in competition with SFDK, and the problem is that a lot people I know go all the way to SFDK from the South Bay rather than going to CGA which is in their "backyard". Why? Teens - CGA doesn't have as much thrills as SFDK Families - CGA has no animals, let's go to SFDK! (or Happy Hollow for really small kids). CGA cannot compete with the family atmosphere because there already is two family amusement parks: Happy Hollow & Gilroy Gardens. Though. CGA can compete in thrills. If they spent money on that GCI coaster, around $10 million in investment, advertise it like crazy just like how SFDK did with Sky Screamer, than the attendance would skyrocket.
  3. SFDK already has a small drop tower! I was more referring to a 80' to 150' drop tower, not a frog hopper.
  4. I did the survey, it's really nice and I would recommend doing it.
  5. For the future attractions, these are some compact, smaller, under 150' rides that can be part of SFDK easily: -Small Drop Tower (S&S, Zamperla) -Intamin Half-Pipe Coaster -S&S El Loco (Can be advertised as steepest drop in the US, or the World) -Intamin Spinning Star -Zamperla Rotoshake These are a few attractions I can see in the future, of course there are many products that can be built at SFDK that I haven't stated.
  6. On one of the few days of the year when CGA is busy, Drop Tower can have one of the longest lines in the park (After Psycho Mouse, Survivor, Grizzly, Flight Deck) So, I expect Lex Luthor to have hour waits minium on a busy day.
  7. I agree partly with him, but they are all (mostly) amazing roller coasters, unlike most Vekomas where the least of your problems is knowing the coaster was cloned 50 times.
  8. I guess the steepest drop would be advertised well, though if CGA was going to get a Euro-Fighter, at least make it a bit better than Dare Devil Dive. DDD is a nice coaster, though it needs more force (Top Gun force) to it.
  9. Really good TR. It seems Invertigo's supports are turning pink. I never knew Diamondback went over the Crypt like that before.
  10. If I was to build something in CGA, not the woodie and not a large coaster, but something unique, I would build a B&M Wing Rider. Make it around 150' tall or so and advertise of how it is the first of the kind in the West Coast. Oops, I'm dreaming.
  11. Medusa (SFDK). The station is good, but the operations are horrible leading you to wait a long time for what seems to be short.
  12. It's an odd way of how they are constructing that lift hill by putting welding (or bolting) the same piece over and over again.
  13. Well, these are my park pet peeves: -Waiting in line for more than 30 minutes -Horrible Operations -Teenagers fooling around, just do it somewhere else so I can have a good time I really haven't seen the General Public acting like they know a lot about coasters and that they think they know more than me. Though, I will see that one day.
  14. I don't ride anything with a 30 minute wait, CGA spoiled me. Though, if it was a new credit, I would wait for 2 1/2 hours tops. If I'm at a park with a large attendance, 45 minutes is tolerable.
  15. Wish I was old enough. Also, I'm living in NorCal, too much of a drive.
  16. SFDK will be getting a small drop tower for 2013.
  17. What are you talking about! That is part of the Six Flags theming!
  18. Wow! First of all, I'm on the Skee Ball League side, though they really should've given permission to Skee Ball to use their name. Other than that, Skee Ball is really pathetic by suing it's own customers. This really is going to bring down sales for the company and how much money are they going to get from the league and does this mean all theme parks with a sign stating "Skee Ball" are also going to be sued? This is just incredible.
  19. What is with the GP and inversions, I see this commonly on this thread as somewhere in this thread, someone said Bizarro was horrible because it had no inversions. Inversions are nice, though of course we all know a coaster doesn't need inversions to be amazing.
  20. So, I went to SFDK on 1/1, yes it was 4 days ago, though these are my highlights: -It was very windy that day and it just happened that Medusa's first drop goes against the wind, so the speed of the wind was higher than normal, but not the speed of the ride of course. -It was interesting on Sky Screamer with the wind because when it went against the wind, the wind speed was very high and when you turned 180 degrees until you are with the wind, then there is almost no wind at all. -Pandemonium had a really long line, so I didn't even try it out on it's last day. Usually I would, but this is a small coaster, so it really doesn't matter much. -They only ran one circuit on Cobra. (Also, about the Boomerang removal incident, I think the employee thought it would be removed because the trains were under re-hab)
  21. Well for me, the hightest G-force is Flight Deck (CGA) which has over 5 Gs of force, particularly the helix over the lake. For me, the highest laterals is Pandemonium (SFDK) because those Wild Mouse turns kick you around. For acceleration, V2 (SFDK) has to have the fastest acceleration when it first starts. For negative-Gs, I really haven't experienced much because I live in CA. For a coaster, I had good floater on Roar (SFDK), though Delirium (CGA) has the most negative-Gs on a RIDE.
  22. It's sad that all the NC side has to offer is Carolina Cobra, Hurler, & Vortex, all of which are worse-than-average coasters. (And, there's Boomerang Bay, beat that SC!)
  23. Best Steel: Medusa (SFDK) Best Wood: Roar (SFDK) (I never rode Apocalypse, and that is probably better) Worst Steel: Vortex (CGA) (By the mile) Worst Wood: Giant Dipper (SCBB) (Yes, I think the Grizzly is MUCH better than the Giant Dipper)
  24. I have some relatives in the Pacific Northwest and they don't go to amusement parks at all. I always wanted to bring them to a local park, but they aren't any good. Though, for you, Wild Waves & Silverwood is the best bet. Neither parks will even come close to the SoCal amusement parks. I heard Timberhawk is a really rough S&S Woodie, though Silverwood does have some good woodies and Aftershock, a Vekoma GIB. It also has the Corkscrew there, which is from KBF, ther first modern-day coaster with an inversion. Here is the park map from the Silverwood website. Really, it depends how desperate you want to visit a theme park, though if you are going to Silverwood for 3 days, it really only takes 1 day to cover the whole park, spend the rest exploring nearby cities.
  25. Flight Deck (CGA) can be "ear-splitting" at times, that coaster is loud!
