  1. It's nice to see Americans aren't the only ones that want everything for free.....it's a world wide epidemic. How lovely. Thanks for all the free stuff Robb and Elissa. I appreciate it as I'm sure many of us here do.
  2. That tiny voice in my head wants to say cannibus.......
  3. I had a cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard for text messages...how I miss that phone. I'm sure once you use it for awhile, everything will become second nature. I'm still grabbing for the gear shift on the dash, when my new car has it between the seats. ^Erik, just curious on what part of the XBox bought the farm? I'm getting disc read errors all of a sudden.
  4. ^ I've PM'ed you, as this is strayying from the original poster's questions. In any case, not all high schools and colleges are diverse. I think you may find that your professional career, when you reach it, you won't be working with people like yourself. It makes things interesting....to say the least!
  5. I finally found a Santana song on iTunes that I couldn't remember for years.....All I Ever Wanted. It was on one of those songs I taped off the radio mixes I made years ago.
  6. This was the first park I ever went to so, it will always have a spot in my heart. I hadn't been there since I was about 7 but, I had heard the same news.
  7. Let me clarify Swimace, since you're reading way to into what I posted. I had lots of friends in high school as you seem to as well. I certainly wasn't "popular" and, trust me, I was not considered cool (mullets be damned!). High school was a great time but, it wasn't my end all of existence. I had friends in all sorts of cliques. Remember the high school where the girls beat the crap out each other during a powder puff game? That's where I went, of course much earlier than that occurence. If you want to talk about pretentious, I give you Glenbrook North. I made much longer stronger friendships in college and, now in my career. Like Nicole, I speak to one friend from high school on a fairly regular basis and that's pretty much it. It's difficult to explain but, there's much more life after high school so, don't get hung up on the drama. Trust us, you'll have bigger things to worry about.
  8. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Adventuredome, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Santa's Village AZoosment Park. Santa's Village Azoosment Park Official Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy! --Robb _____________________________________________________ 2006 May 12th, 2008 - Santa's Village may shut down (see below) 2009 January 5th, 2009 - Talks underway to possibly re-open the park in 2010 2010 August 31st, 2010 - Park to re-open as zoo and amusement park 2011 April 29th, 2011 - New rides and attractions announced for 2011 season November 23rd, 2011 - Changes announced for 2012 2013 July 26, 2013 - park releases the number of its' new coaster, Wildcat 2014 June 30th, 2014 - Wildcat opens 2015 April 22nd, 2015 - Pictures of new 2015 rides posted 2016 January 8th, 2016 - The park's historic Snowball ride is being refurbished November 17th, 2016 - Super Cyclone (from Interpark) to be added for 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Every Mother's Day weekend for nearly 50 years, Santa's Village brushed fresh, white paint on its piles of fake snow, opened the life-size gingerbread house and beckoned children and adults to its property in East Dundee. Opened a few years after Disneyland, the tiny park was designed to give kids the kind of Christmas its developer never had as a child. Over the decades, as tourists began flocking to bigger attractions like Gurnee's Six Flags Great America, attendance declined. Scores of other small parks in the Chicago area and around the country shut their doors. Santa's Village hung on. Now with a lien on the property and $83,000 in debt to East Dundee, Santa's Village is closed. For the first time in its history, on the traditional opening weekend no children will crowd around the "North Pole" or clamor for a pony ride. Up for sale, the park on a recent day looked as forlorn as an abandoned child. The snowball ride sat silent; the treehouse slide was empty; even the ponies had left for greener pastures. Yet in storybook fashion the town has rallied, and a prospective buyer has stepped forward with a plan to rescue the fading landmark tucked along a strip of car dealerships on Illinois Highway 25 in Kane County. The buyer, a local businessman, has told town leaders that he wants to refurbish the place and open in June. The deal remains tentative, and the sale closing date has been repeatedly pushed back, leaving the future uncertain.
  9. Derek pretty much summed it up. All the "cool" kids will amount to nothing in the long run. This is their "best time of their lives" which is pretty pathetic. You've got little more than a year and, it will all be over. I don't even keep in touch with any of my friends from high school and, I'm betting that's the case with a lot of people. Too many hormones and insecurities during that time of life.....glad it's over.
  10. ^That's the Hokey Pokey....although I do agree, it IS what it's all about.
  11. I'm trying to figure out how Frontier "dumbed down the process." RCT3 is just as easy to use as RCT2, it's just in a 3D environment. The problem is the game is buggy, not dumbed down. The original RCT will probably be the "end all" of theme park games because it was ground breaking and, everyone compares all other games to it. Personally, I love RCT3. It gives a lot of flexiblity in design. You just have to comes to terms with what you can accomplish with it. I also loved Theme Park on the PSX....so I must be a cotton headed ninny monger.
  12. Great TPR. The Marriott room looks like my family's at Grande Vista....which is also down the road from Sea World.
  13. I'm putting of packing for my business trip to Phoenix (7:30am flight). So, I'm sampling a local brew here. Two Brother's Brewing "The Bitter End." It's quite bitter, at first but, oh sooo tasty. A face only a Mother could love....and possibly my wife.
  14. That would of solved our return game problems and a receiver problem as well....thus being an intelligent move. We don't do that in Chicago, we like to make things more complicated for our sports teams. Just look up the Cubs.....
  15. If you're talking about Moose, that was last year....trouble is, we don't have any 1st or 2nd string receivers. That makes him our number one option by default!
  16. Yes he is very good and shouldn't have fallen so far, but the Steelers are a running team and dammit I wanted White. I felt a bigger need in the backfield than for the recievers and it seems like they took the best player out there and not neccessarrily a player to cover a weakness. Just my opinion and I am still happy with their selection and hope it works out well Don't forget LenDale tore a calf muscle (or some leg muscle), he may be a real question mark for this year. The Bears desperately needed a TE, did Jerry Angelo draft one???? Of course not, we drafted more defense. The offense was ranked 29th....I can't believe these guys get paid for this...
  17. And now you all know the people I have to deal with day in and day out. I had a Two Brothers "The Bitter End" last night. One left, I'll take a pic tonight.
  18. 1) I play baseball in a national baseball league for players over 28. 2) I ran state time in the 200m dash in high school. 3) I'm addicted to video games, especially sports games and the RCT series. 4) I played drums from 3rd grade through college, then carpal tunnel got the better of my thumbs. 5) I have to beg my wife to let us got to Disney World every two years.
  19. I think that's the lower intestine.
  20. If you can, just post the pictures directly on the site. You got some really nice ones. Whoa....I was just skimming through, this could be taken the wrong way.....not that I would notice.....
  21. Awesome videos! I hate it when Yeti steal my beer.
  22. And now I understand why NASA is in the shape it is.....
  23. I was thinking something totally different when I saw "white party."
  24. I sat idly by watching this thread for too long. Here's my list: Open Up Your Eyes - Tonic Why Pt. II - Collective Soul The Best of What's Around - Dave Matthews Band Unchained - Van Halen Express Yourself- NWA (I get down with my bad self) What It Takes -Aerosmith If You Could Only See - Tonic Baba O'Riley - The Who Hey Jude - The Beatles
  25. Wow...people are watching hockey???? Let's go Blackhawks....oh wait, they suck.....as per usual.
