  1. It's definitely more interesting than DCA's... but I still like ours best.
  2. Celebrity? You've heard of this guy? Uhhm... what kind of shows do you watch? Just curious. I thought it was really an old guy jumping around like he's begging for a heart attack. Darn.
  3. Is that even possible? How freakin' big was that thing!?!? Unless you were exaggerating...
  4. Yeah, it's mostly repetitive tunnels & caverns mixed with pretty boring outside areas once you actually get on the ride. Hopefully they plant more vegetation and add some more details, because right now, it somewhat resembles Thunder Mountain. What's this whoring you speak of? I'm nobody's whore, thank you very much. As for Datman, looked like spam to me... but maybe I missed something.
  5. Or the more likely option, Pooh's Playful Spot V2. I'd prefer to still have subs.
  6. I haven't been back, but I thought he was programmed horribly during CM previews. He wasn't the least bit impressive, just waving his arm up and down. Hopefully they've improved it, otherwise, he wasn't worth hyping. Althought considering how long you see him, I'm not sure how much of a difference it can make. Yes, there's an on-ride photo. I didn't see the monitors anywhere when I got off the ride, but I know it'll have them. There's already a little queue set up for it in the gift shop.
  7. I still haven't figured out what the hell the Yeti is supposed to be holding onto. It's like a giant broken box. Track would be the obvious answer, but it really looks NOTHING like a track. Not sure what they were thinking...
  8. Uhhm... I'm not sure I see the point of that post, if there was one. We were not talking about parks. We were talking about the attractions IN those parks. And AK barely has any. So what were you getting at?
  9. If I didn't live in FL, I'd pay to come here like 40 million people a year do. I wouldn't be whining or begging for Disney to clone all of WDW's rides elsewhere. (Even though that's basically what they've done) Fact of the matter is, WDW has more parks than an other resort and attracts more people than any other resort. Logic would tell us that it would and should have things that the other resorts don't have. Just like the other resorts have plenty of things WDW doesn't have, or they have better versions of what WDW has. Many people who've experienced all Disney has to offer would tell you we have the single worst MK park. If every resort were a cookie cutter clone of each other, why would anyone have any interest beyond the resort closest to them? Where would the originality and uniqueness be? And I really don't see how the topic veered off on this path anyway considering ToT, WDW's premier ride, is currently getting whored out to every park possible. What are these great E-tickets that were keeping to ourselves? Mission: Space? It's an overrated spin & puke. Everest? One of WDW's worse mountains. In fact, it's a glorified Matterhorn, which Disneyland has had for many years. Oh, let me guess... It's Stitch, right? Fact = WDW doesn't have nearly as many good, unique attractions as a 4 park resort should have, and it's not going to gain them overnight while other resorts drown in their lack of comparitive space.
  10. You're right, they are completely different experiences. I can fake airtime by hopping out of my desk chair. Otherwise...
  11. That's what I didn't get. That was seriously the main selling point of the ride that they were using in advertising back when I rode it. Weightlessnes... which the ride has none of. Since it made me sick as a dog, I don't care much to see how it's changed. For all I care, they could bulldoze the thing.
  12. I was never expecting a mega-coaster, obviously. But would a little airtime be too much to ask? Considering old rides like BTMR and SM have it, I don't think so. The "It's a family park" excuse is just that when it comes to supposed thrill rides. And I especially don't buy that when one of Disney's roughest, scariest rides ever is in AK. Still the best ride in the park.
  13. I think the drop height is Kraken's. EE's drop is hardly 80 feet, including the curve, so it's certainly not that big.
  14. That's the thing. I'm not a coaster person AT ALL. In fact, I won't go on anything with inversions and I've only ridden 1 ride with a drop over 100 feet. And Everest's drop still made me think "WTF!? That's it!?!?" As an overall experience, it's really not that unique at all. It's like a badly planned combination of BTMR and the Matterhorrn, it just goes backwards. Even the Yeti is nothing to write home about... not that you'll remember anything about him by the time you get to the gift shop. I'm going to nickname him Triple B. The big brown blur.
  15. Is that possible? Gotta love the Slantinel. Almost as much as the expressions on the people's faces at the top of the EE photo.
  16. If only that drop was worth drooling over. I can't believe how tame it is.
  17. *Snore* (That means I just rode it) Hop in the back and expect big G's when it goes backwards. Otherwise, start lowering your expectations now. Prior to today, I didn't think it was possible for an 80 foot drop to feel more like 15 feet. I also didn't think an animatronic that can only move it's head and one arm could be hyped so much. I was wrong.
  18. Like the jew said, the guest assistance pass is meant for people who need it. Using it would make you evil, Barry. Very evil.
  19. I thought the same thing. It looks ridiculously cheesy and cartoonish for an AA that was supposed to be so scary. I don't think fluid movements are going to make it anymore intimidating. And what exactly is he holding onto? A big broken box suspended in the middle of a mountain? Huh?
  20. I prefer It's a Small World over WDW's Space Mountain. It's a rough piece of crap.
  21. I don't know why a big coaster enthusiast would think a Disney ride is aimed at them anyway. I haven't seen a non-enthusiast describe the intensity of the ride yet.
  22. I honestly don't see how they're such bad videos. I haven't ridden it yet, but I don't know what some of you think is missing from the video. It seems to me there simply isn't that much to the ride.
  23. Someone must really enjoy fairs. I would personally view that plan as a waste, but then again, I'm not into fairs and have a real dislike for BGT and Old Town. So what do I know? One question though - why are you flying into Orlando when most of your trip is in Tampa? You could spend one whole day at the fair if there weren't seemingly unnecessary driving involved on the first day. In fact, Orlando itself seems unnecessary. Old Town isn't worth a 2 hour drive.
