Halloween Horror Nights XVI
JT3000 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
USH doesn't have the resources to match what UO's capable of. The tram tour is about the only advantage... but didn't someone die the last time they used that at HHN? Ok sorry I'm not trying to be mean but HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH Have you ever been to USH? They make movies there! I am a New York Film Academy student and we are constantly on the back lot filming. They have this huge wardrobe wearhouse with just about every single costume and prop ever used in every movie (including horror movies). There are like a million sound stages and they are enormous, so they will probably be used for one or two mazes. We also have the largest escalator in the USA, I dunno they could do something with that but its pretty awesome. C'mon man we make movies here, and we dont have the resources? Your USF was modeled after ours... OMG!!!11 DEY M@KE M0V!ES DERE?!?!?!? DAT' SO K00L!!!1111 ROFLZLOLZ!!!111 Do you actually think it matters how many random props or costumes USH has lying around? Or that they're going to instantly make USH some kind of Halloween utopia? If the rumored number of house(s) I've heard for USH turns out to be true, you're in for a rude awakening. I'm gonna take a wild guess that USH doesn't have "like a million" soundstages, and that 99.9% of them can't actually be used for HHN anyway, being a busy movie studio and all. But then again, what do I know? Oh, I almost forgot to ask. What's USH's normal parade route look like? And where is it's lagoon(s) located, in case they want to utilize it (them) for a special show? Where do they usually set their fireworks off from, for said show? Oh... you mean USF wasn't modeled after USH at all? Imagine that. But hey, at least you've got that nifty... uhhm... escalator. -

Again, this means nothing without sources... legit sources. Oh, I've got my sources, But they'll probably get Into alot of trouble If I say who they are... If you don't, we have no reason to believe you when you state something matter-of-factly. Everyone has "sources" these days. It's amazing. World Expo's theming isn't very good, but it's a theme nonetheless. The only World Expo attractions are BTTF and MIB. Everything else you mentioned is in the Kidzone.

No major attractions closed this year. They're using the Jaws queue, but the attraction will supposedly stay open... assuming it doesn't go seasonal for the same reasons as last year. -
^ That's just plain disturbing.

My source tells me to stress the fact that these houses will, supposedly, be "new interpretations" of the original houses. Whether this means mostly new scenes in each house, just one or two new scenes in each house, or one or two props moved around is anyone's guess. No one's really sure what "54" is. It might not even be a maze. It was listed with the others on the audition sheet, but they're ambiguous sometimes. It could be a scarezone, or a Rat Run-like deal. So we've got 7 or 8 haunted houses, give or take. They're bringing back the Chainsaw Drill Team and Opening Scaremonies. If you've attended a HHN at USF before, and were there when they started letting people into the park, you probably know what this is. For those of you who don't know... wear your running shoes. There will also be assorted street entertainment throughout the night, probably to make up for the lack of a parade. -

The info I posted is as official as it gets, as it came directly from HHN auditions held the other day. These houses will not be exactly the same as their predecessors, scene for scene, because that would be monotonous. But they are in fact an extension (or "sequel") of the previous houses, like you would find at Knott's or Busch. No placeholding. As for the 8th mystery house, it has a working name of "54." No idea what it means. -

It wouldn't surprise me if part of IOA is open for peak nights, but the event itself is all USF. -

Orlando teaser site is up at HHN.com, and here's the list of mazes, straight from auditions: Dungeon of Terror (HHN I, II, IV & V) The People Under the Stairs (HHN II & III) Psycho Path (HHN III & IV) RUN (HHN XI) Scream House (HHN XII & XIII) All-Night DrIvE-In (HHN XIII) Psycho Scareapy (HHN XIII) And a yet unnamed 8th house. All blasts from the past, to celebrate HHN's "sweet sixteen." Not a new maze among them. Ehh... There will be scarezones at the entrance, in New York, Hollywood and the KidZone (yes, the KidZone.) No parade this year, but supposedly more than one show. Bill & Ted returns to it's original home, in the Fear Factor theater. -
Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
JT3000 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's impossible to know the number of ride related incidents because most of them aren't reported. Only the deaths. As already mentioned, it must have been a slow news day for them to report this. -
IOA Left Over land??

No. They couldn't. -
IOA Left Over land??
JT3000 replied to thefitness's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The empty space south of IOA is Universal property. It will be used for hotels and possibly a water park. The land that was sold by Universal was next to the Convention Center. -

They've taken down the HHN XV site and replaced it with a teaser page that confirms the event's return to USH. http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/hhn/ -
Can't blame Disney for people getting on a ride with a pre-existing condition. But I must say, after listening to the 911 call, they seem so unprepared and unorganized, it's frightening. And I think we get the point, Wes. Someone's dead and you're trying to find funny ways to list Aerosmith songs. Bravo.

Pirates of the Caribbean
JT3000 replied to satanbowler's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, it stills plays "Dead Men Tells No Tales" in the caverns. Call off the WAAAAmbulence on this on. Easy for you to say, you still know where the voice in your head is coming from. It even has extra lines! -
Pirates of the Caribbean
JT3000 replied to satanbowler's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yep. The skull and cross bones still say it as you go down the first drop but in the dark tunnel it has been removed. At WDW, the skull has apparently been removed altogether (along with it's safety spiel.) "Dead men tell no tales" is now just spoken by a disembodied voice. Why they would remove one of the ride's iconic props is beyond me... -
Revenge of the Mummy
JT3000 replied to eskater132's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
USH's Mummy is extremely short, contrary to what Guy will tell you. I think he's hit his head. As far as the effects go, well, the mummy hands reaching out of the ceiling look kinda cool... other than that, USH's effects are pretty subpar. Only one Imhotep AA, which is a lot less articulated than USF's, and the lack of real fire are just two of it's faults. That's good to know.
