Scaparri's Spring Break in Florida: UPDATED twice! 3/27
JT3000 replied to Scaparri's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Why are they TP'ing the elephants? -
Less coasters, more cheerleaders. Oh wait, I forgot which site I was on... Anyone else find it amusing how he took a photo of Gwazi's sign and still got it's name wrong?

Haunted Mansion Refurb Dates
JT3000 replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It doesn't take three months to fix the audio and a few projections, I can tell you that much. They're either adding something to it or being really lazy (like usual.) -
I don't get it. You make it sound like Universal is Six Flags or something. Some of IOA's theming is better than any of Disney's. USF is also better themed than MGM. Which resort you choose should actually come down to how long you're staying. Universal has two parks and CityWalk which are all within walking distance from each other and the hotels. WDW has four parks and a bunch of other things that are spread out all over the place. I think this should be the deciding factor more than anything. As for how the parks differ from their California counterparts: Magic Kingdom is a larger Disneyland with less attractions. You'll see some new ones, but for the most part it'll feel very familiar. Epcot will be completely new to you except for Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Soarin'. MGM is a full park of what you'd expect from DCA's backlot area. You'll be familiar with Tower of Terror, Star Tours and Muppets 3-D. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and The Great Movie Ride will be new to you along with every show except for Fantasmic. Animal Kingdom will be completely new except for It's Tough to be a Bug. Universal Studios Florida shares some attractions with it's Hollywood counterpart but the park itself (ie the layout and theming) is completely different and there are quite a few attractions that are missing from USH. On the other hand, USF lacks a studio tour and WaterWorld. IOA will be completely new except for Jurassic Park River Adventure.

Disney sues Anaheim over plan
JT3000 replied to sixflagsmagicmountain's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, who do they think they are? It's not like they swooped in, developed an undesired central Florida swampland into one of the world's most traveled to tourist destinations or anything. Geez, the nerve of them. Same goes for SoCal. I'd lean towards Disney's arguments on this one. Good for them. They can do whatever the hell they want in that "undesired Central Florida swampland." They made sure of that. But when they start getting in the way of the CITY OF ORLANDO's business, there's a problem. We aren't any closer to getting light rail, something we desperately need, because of these buffoons. -
Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

It's about damn time, assuming this is true. I fear for my life every time I ride that rickety old thing. The original should not have been the last to get overhauled. -
Disney sues Anaheim over plan

Disney is constantly throwing it's weight around in Orlando, like they own the place. I'm surprised to hear it took this long on the west coast. -

Aquatica - they just started building it and it already sucks. Nice Six Flags impersonation. Won't even comment on the pink slide, as much as I'd love to. -
Okey-dokey. But don't be surprised if they recognize how screwy your plan is as well. Speed much?

Between the fact that you're staying in Lakelend, which is a pretty good (read: bad) distance from the parks, and the fact that you want to hit all four WDW parks in one day, this should be pretty amusing. I'm also assuming you're spending a whole day at Cypress Gardens because it's cheaper (or you have free tickets to that as well?)

As far as I know, the scarab scenes are identical.
