  1. Record year for me in 2012 - 7 new parks and 55 new coasters, bringing my total so far to 75.
  2. Top 5 Wood: 5. Cyclone - SFNE 4. Comet - TGE 3. Wild One - SFA 2. Beast - KI 1. El Toro - GRADV Top 5 Steel: 5. Dominator - KD 4. Nitro - GRADV 3. Diamondback - KI 2. Top Thrill Dragster - CP 1. Bizarro - SFNE
  3. Not really a near-death experience, but at Kings Dominion (ECB was my first time there) I kept graying out on I-305 on that turn that's right after the first drop. First coaster I ever grayed out on.
  4. More or less. Some of the CF parks' pass processing centers are outside the park gates but their system is a lot quicker, instead of putting your photo on the pass itself, it's stored in their system so your mugshot will come up on the screen when your pass is scanned at the gates. Major time saver, and you'll have an active pass the first time you pass through the gates - no worrying about losing a voucher in the park if you bought the pass online. Also, the platinum pass is the same price and can be processed at any park no matter which park you buy it from, where a SF season pass has to be processed at the park where you bought it from before you can use it at another park.
  5. Another good site for tracking is http://www.coastercounter.com. I use them, they also have an iPhone app for updating on the fly.
  6. Confirmed on July 11 - my wife and I brought our Cedar Point Platinum Pass vouchers to Kings Island, no problem with processing. The voucher wouldn't scan at the parking toll booth but since the attendant saw that it was for a Platinum Pass they just manually keyed it in for us to enter as a tour bus to park for free.
  7. Got my tix last week - only doing the KD portion though since my wife and I are platinum pass holders (got them from KI back in July) - gonna be carpooling w/ a buddy from NY!
  8. For steel - tie between Steamin' Demon at Great Escape and Mantis at Cedar Point. For wood - tie between Mean Streak at Cedar Point and Rolling Thunder aka Rotting Lumber at Great Adventure.
  9. Goliath at SFNE on Wednesday for Media Day, which was also my wife's birthday!
  10. ^ They're actually doIng a Sneak Preview this weekend for season pass holders only. It will be opening to the public on Friday, May 25.
  11. I e-mailed Cedar Point with that question a little while ago, they wrote back to me and said that a Platinum Pass purchased online can be processed at any CF park since it's good for admission to all CF parks. Just print the voucher and bring it to the park.
  12. To anyone who visited Lincoln Park when it was open - do any of you have any photos of the park from your visits? If so, would you mind sharing some? My wife visited that park many times as a kid and would like some memorabilia before it gets developed.
  13. My pleasure! My wife and I were taking a rest at JB's and she happened to spot the train moving, so I "quick" grabbed my phone and started filming!
  14. I shot that video - you can hear my wife and me talking to a few members of the GP in the background!
  15. Flashback at SFNE - first w/ inversions and first boomerang at the same time.
  16. Definites: SFNE (Home park) SF Great Adventure Kennywood, Cedar Point, Kings Island (first time to each) Maybes (will be first time to each): SF America (Must get Wild One off my bucket list...) Lake Compounce Canobie Knoebel's Quassy
  17. So far - Thunderbolt at SFNE, operating since 1941. Wild One at SFA (1917) is on my bucket list since I never got to ride it as a kid when it was Giant Coaster at Paragon Park.
  18. * Updated Version * SF Great Adventure El Toro Skull Mountain SF Over Georgia Dare Devil Dive Goliath GASM (Woodie version) Cedar Point Top Thrill Dragster Millennium Force Magnum XL-200 Maverick King's Island Beast Diamondback Invertigo Vortex Also any Windseeker, and of course I'll be adding to this list...
  19. I was there with a group of friends from SFNE Online (our fan site), we had a BLAST! Check out some of my backstage photos here!
  20. My wife razzes me sometimes about becoming a roller coaster junkie even though it was her idea to visit SFNE for the first time on the day before our 9th anniversary back in 2009, my first ever ride on Bizarro set the wheels in motion for that to happen... I've since also made a lot of new friends through the SFNE Online fan site - which I discovered after getting home from our first SFNE visit - who are as gung-ho about coasters as I have become, some of them even more so than me...
