The Most Shocking Ride Removals
jzoole replied to Kingsislandfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know it's been said a few times, but seriously, AstroWorld closing was a huge punch in the stomach. And it turned out to be a really stupid move, considering the fact that SFI ended up making less than half off the closure of the park than they were anticipating. And this was a park that was turning a profit. And I can only imagine that it would have been turning that much MORE of a profit if the company had been regularly investing in it. I'll never get over that. Also, before SFAW ever closed, it was SHOCKING (at least to me at the time) when they got rid of Excalibur, in my opinion the best Arrow Mine Train ever built, to make way for the Vekoma hang-and-bang that easily could have fit elsewhere in the park. Tragic. -
Actually a lot of parks do this to advertise rides/attractions (Six Flags) so Chinese manufacturers aren't the only ones who do this. Umm?? Six Flags doesn't manufacture rides. If you're referring to how they will show an image of one rollercoaster (i.e. Green Lantern) to advertize another (i.e. Apocalypse), that's sort of different, as they own both of those rides. What the chinese company is doing is the equivalent of a baker taking a picture of another baker's cake, and advertising it as their own work.

I have a good sense of humor and can appreciate that the atmosphere in a scare zone should be taken lightly, but there is nothing funny or scary about an employee at the park you are patroning basically telling you that you're ugly and have bad skin. Or making offensive comments about the LGBT communtiy. That is WAY over the line. I hope the kid gets his free season passes.

Awesome, thanks And crap, I thought I was being original with Ryu! Well sort of. It's kind of a rip-off of Tatsu. -

Thanks for the feedback! You're right, I totally ran out of space. I'm really bad about making my square to small when I create the scenario, and it kind of turned into a Hersheypark situation, where I was cramming things in lol. And I'll definitely take your advice on the yellow supports -
Ok so I think I'm pretty much done building anything in this park so I thought I would post some pictures. It's my first time posting a park other than a couple things in the preview thread, so be nice! It's called Saint Arnold's Landing. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated! The first themed section off of the midway is called Gunbarrel Juntion. It is built at the foot of a mountain (very a la Lake Compounce) and features a skyride to the top of the mountain (also very a la Compounce) Also, a terrain out-and-back called "Mountaineer." Obviously somewhat Boulderdash-esque. If you continue down through Gunbarrel Juntion, you come to a GIB called FireFalcon. I don't usually build these, but I got a wild hair. Towards the end of Gunbarrel Juntion is a log Flume, "Big Timber Falls" which is intertwined with a Mine Train, "Phantom Mountain Mine." The next themed section is called Stratford Square. The main attractions here are a toboggan coaster called "Quest" and an Intamin Gyro Drop, "TerrorTower." Also within Stratford Square is a subsection, which is a kid's area called "Fairytale Forest," filled with kid's rides themed to different fairytales. Finally, the last themed section is "Kyoshi Village". The first big ticket ride in Kyoshi is a Schwarzkopf shuttle loop called "Samurai." A compact B&M Inverted called "Ryu" And finally, a river rapids called "Dragon River Rapids", and a short but sweet, low-to-the-ground Intamin launch coaster called "Kaidan." It was a tight squeeze. I sort of took inspiration from Rita Queen of Speed and Desert Race. Back over to the far end of Gunbarrel Juntion again, a B&M hyper, "Vigilante" Another shot of "Vigilante" And finally, an overview of Gunbarrel Junction... ...and of Stratford Square and Kyoshi Village. Hope you enjoyed!

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

Yeah I understand that the Half Pint Brawlers are little people who are willing to dehumanize themselves for money, and also that the park agreed to promote this using the word "midget". I find the whole idea really offensive. What I'm saying is I wish members of this forum wouldn't feed into it. If Cedar Point decided they were going to put on a Minstrel Show with Jim Crow and Mammy, that wouldn't mean that it was ok, and since the park and the actors are doing it, we should all proceed to make black jokes. Anyway, apparently I'm the only one here who finds all of this offensive. -

I wish everyone on this board would stop calling them "midgets." It really is offensive. -

Oh my god, how is Worlds of Fun getting away with promoting this "Midget Wrestling" thing as an attraction??? This is SO highly offensive! I am disgusted. If I was a little person and attended the park and saw that going on, I would go straight to guest relations and ask for my money back. -
Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT) Discussion Thread
jzoole replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm. My guess would be that the difference is that the music is a longer recorded track and that the water/geyser/horn are effects that only last a second or two. I don't know, for some reason it makes sense to me that you would be able to push a button to make a car horn sound, but that the music and voice recording would be programmed to play automatically. I'm not sure I'm explaining my thought well lol. -

I think the horn being controllable by the ops sounds pretty likely. It would make more sense for them to have installed it that way, and it would explain why sometimes it isn't working, because I'm sure some of the ops just get tired of hearing it and say "screw it". Just like the people who work at Chic-fil-a are SUPPOSED to say "my pleasure" when you say "thank you", but they don't always lol. -
Missed Credits: Coasters you COULD have...
jzoole replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm. Interesting. I have never sounted carnival coasters or twin tracked. Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up the extra credit on Colossus. Not really so much for Rolling Thunder, as it was probably the worst ride I've ever been on. That brings me to another question: When a ride recieves a makeover, does it count as a new credit? For instance, I wouldn't count Escape From Krypton as a separate credit just because it's cars were turned backwards. By that logic, you could count a lot of other coasters as an estra credit if you ride it during haunt when its running backwards trains, and that would be ridiculous if you ask me. But I would probably count Steel Phantom and Phantom's Revenge as separate credits. Or New and Old Texas Giant. Is that justified? -
Missed Credits: Coasters you COULD have...
jzoole replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Would the two sides on Escape From Krypton really count as two credits anyway? I wouldn't have thought to count them as such. Which makes me wonder how you decide whether a twin-track roller coaster counts as one or two credits. Like, it seems obvious to me that Colossus or Gemini only count as one, regardless of whether or not you rode both sides. But people count Deuling Dragons as two, right? So how about Lightning Racer? And by that logic, what about Rolling Thunder at GAdv? If that can be counted as two, then I guess I missed a credit there inadvertently. Crap. Okay, end ramble. -

I've never posted anything before, but recently started playing RCT2 again after several years. I don't really understand how to do custom supports and scenery and hacking and such but here's a little park I've been working on. Is it worth continuing? SCR15.BMP SCR18.BMP SCR21.BMP -
