  1. Boulderdash! Loved it more than El Toro.
  2. Some favorites: - New Texas Giant. It has all these cool cadillacs all over, one of which flashes its headlights and honks everytime a train dispatches. Also the "chicken coop" which is a waiting area for non-riders, and makes chicken noises everytime someone goes in, is a fun touch. some NTAG station pics Another one that I thought was really impressive given that it was where it was, was the Dungeon Drop queue/station at Astroworld. Awesome themeing and great sound effects/music. I miss it! Dungeon Drop
  3. Thank god someone else finally asked! I've been wondering that all year but felt too stupid to ask. I hope someone will finally explain this mysterious A!
  4. ^ I was about to say the same thing. Why in the world would the mechanics go out of their way to inform the ride ops of what exactly is wrong with the ride? It is inconsequential to them doing their job, and it's none of the guest's business anyway. I haven't worked as a ride op or anything, just seems like sommon sense to me.
  5. Closing AstroWorld was an idiotic move on Kieran Burke's part. He sold a profitable park, only got half of what he was expecting to get for the land, then spent $20 million to demolish it. The money they made from selling off AW could have been made up tenfold by simply continuing to operate the park. Idiot.
  6. 1. Boulder Dash 2. Bizarro (SFNE) 3. New Texas Giant 4. Nitro 5. Superman: Krypton Coaster 6. El Toro 7. Boardwalk Bullet 8. Shockwave (SFOT) 9. Mr. Freeze 10. Tatsu
  7. So I just noticed that Six Flags trademarked the name "Apocalypse" on July 22, 2011. So I guess this ride is simply being called "Apocalypse".
  8. ^^ I agree! When I rode Green lantern it was perfectly smooth. I think the people who are saying that have never heard of rider participation.
  9. For me it's NTAG's first drop and drop coming off the MCBR, or El Toro's 1st drop. Also really love Cyclone at SFNE's fist drop, backseat. Honorable mentions to Titan/Goliath and Superman Krypton Coaster's first drops., as well as the first drop on the late Ultra Twister And lastly, I will always have a special place in my heart for the final drop on SFOT's Runaway Mine Train
  10. I have been on plenty of them too, and I seriously have never felt it. I'm really not sure why this is. They all still feel smooth as glass to me. Oh well, lucky me I guess.
  11. I know! I've never had that problem either. And if I have, I haven't even noticed.
  12. So I went to the park today and got my last ride on Shipwreck Falls, and I couldn't help thinking what a shame it is that GIB is replacing this instead of Flashback Shipwreck Falls is just so adorably themed and looks really nice right where it is. And it was a nice warm day and it that big splash felt great. The park is now down to two water rides, one of which doesn't get you wet at all. Also, they're obviously going to have to take out some nice mature trees. And then I looked over at that rough piece of crap Flashback (which was down ALL day) and thought what a waste. Deja Vu should be replacing that instead. It doesn't help that I just saw pictures of the plans submitted and both coasters are going to be facing the same way. That's going to make the comparison even more obvious! I really hope that Flashback will be on its way out soon to make room for something, ANYTHING better. Like a restroom. Or a dumpster. Ok maybe not that, but I REALLY hate that ride being there right now! Lol.
  13. I really doubt it's a new stand up. But playing devil's advocate, there are the rumors saying that SF deemed Iron Wolf too old to be relocated. And the SFA facebook is claiming it's not Iron Wolf. And if I recall, wasn't SFA rumored to get a new stand up back in 2001, but dropped the plans in favor of Batwing? Maybe, just maybe, those plans are finally coming to fruition? Maybe SFI was using Green Lantern at SFGAdv as a trial to see how well the GP would receive a stand up as a "new" addition before they invested in an actual new one at SFA. Just food for thought. But it probably is just Iron Wolf. Or even worse, the old Batman The Escape that's been rotting away in a parking lot across from Darien Lake for the past 7 years.
  14. ^ If this was the case, then probably the reason why is because Cedar Fair didn't just have a contract to get a large B&M. They would have already paid to have plans drawn up for a custom ride, which takes months. They would have already had the plans made, and if this was indeed a last minute move, they wouldn't have time to change them and have new ones created. Make sense? It's the same reason that SFMM cloned Medusa to build Scream instead of a new custom design. It was cheaper and faster to reuse blueprints that had already been designed. However, I'm from the school of thought that the plans were intended for CW all along.
  15. Thanks, I'm glad you guys liked my little design, even though apparently it could never happen. I was almost afraid to post it because I thought everyone would think it looked like crap haha.
  16. Hmm. I didn't know about that either. Can't they find somewhere else? Crazy Ford people Maybe they could name it Mustang and Ford could sponsor the ride! Lol.
  17. That's for sure! And there are a lot of extenuating circumstances that can affect our opinions. When I rode El Toro, it was rough as hell. So it's not as high up on my list as it is for most other people. I'm sure if I went back and got a smoother ride, that might change.
  18. I'm sure you're right. But I'd still prefer my spot because it's more grassy and less parking lotty
  19. The thing about B&M inverts that I don't like as much as on floorless is the limited visibility in any other row but the front. For me, riding anywhere but the front on an invert is nauseating because I can't see anything at all. I don't have that problem at all on a floorless. But maybe that's just me.
  20. I've been on all but one of the "Six Flags Floorless Five" (I haven't taken in SFDK Medusa) and I loved all of them. Scream and Bizarro weren't quite as great as the other two but B:tDK was pretty forceful and IMO Krypton Coaster is pure bliss. So apparently Schotcher isn't too big on floorless, but I think the majority of us really like them.
  21. This isn't all that great, but it's just a little something I made for fun. But as you can see, all hope for fitting in a Giga is not lost
  22. ^ Isn't there a separate thread for SFGAm? Whatever. I'm excited to find out the new name
