  1. Great Photo-TR - many good-looking coasters in that park. Would love to do it but Hersheypark is a little in the middle of nowhere from an overseas point-of-view. Would love to do the SuperDooperLooper as Revolution was quite ruined with OTSRs. And I think you still find a lot of Huss Condor's around. Many first league parks are selling them by time - but they crop up in the second and thrid league parks. I find them a nice relaxing ride with a view. But honestly Hershey chocolate is not my kind of taste. I love chocolate - but a good chocolate only contains: chocolate powder, chocolate butter, sugar and maybe milk if a milk chocolate - Hershey's products mostly add half a chemical plant so its a no-go for me....
  2. No, no.no.....you wouldn't get onto that kind of coaster..... The smallest I do are Zierer Tivoli - but only in the "Large" variant - and Vekoma MK-900s....in the back seat.
  3. As I always go single on this rides I always go for the last line and when I notice that a front seat is free I slip into it.....
  4. Nessie (the sea-serpent) Superrollercoaster at Hansa-Park, Germany - a Schwarzkopf Loopingracer. Still enjoy it today....
  5. If I'd be a United Artists lawyer I'd park there and wait till they tow me - and then would sue their asses off.... http://007.graphicallstars.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/zorinblimp02.jpg It's quite clear they took their company logo from the Bond movie....
  6. Looks like a great park. I plan to visit Orlando for a week or two in february 2013 as I don't like the summer heat - covering WDW, Universal Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Busch Gardens and Kennedy Space Center - hope crowds are little at that time of year.....
  7. Well-done Photo-TR - they're seldom seen from China and they've built a lot of parks and coasters over the last years. I also kind of like the "made in china" rollercoasters - Arrow/Vekoma design but the loop-support looks Schwarzkopf to me....
  8. I still remember driving from Queen Mary in Long Beach at 7am and I arrived around 10:10am at SFMM - engine off on the parking lot - luckily I purchased all tickets online.... Most horrible traffic-jam was before the highway junction of I-405 and I-10 that day....stood there over an hour as two lanes were blocked due to a minor accident.
  9. Nothing much special to "feel" - if you wanna put in an extra kick look sideways out of the car while going through the loop. That way you see the earth revolving around you - like that signature shot from the 70s movie "Rollercoaster" that was filmed on Revolution. A completly other kind are Ranger or Inverter kind of rides - the rotation is slow enough so that you really "feel" the upside-down - plus most programs let you hang upside-down for a little time. Lucky for you they don't of this kind of ride at SFMM. Some Gerstelauer Eurofighter also do the final heartline-roll quite slow on purpose - but also not present at SFMM - or the dive-loop at Manhatten Express in Vegas lets you also hang in there for a split-second....
  10. Well, "titty" hasn't any meaning in germany and its only used in the english meaning - but I guess we aren't that juvenile about it....
  11. As I said - we've mostly some great classics like many Schwarzkopf's and woodys like the Rutschebanen or Hochschaubahn. But Europe lacks great costum B&Ms for example. But if you take for example Heide-Park: They can't compete with major US parks - the only world-class coaster there is Colossos. Next to that they have two standard Vekoma coasters - one SLC *ouch* and one MK-1200 double-loop, double corkscrew - some might say the latter is costum, but that was only an added block-break for 4-train operation which was removed years ago. And then you've Krake - a Mini-B&M-Diver - and Desert Race a "light" version of Intamin Accelerator. The last two can't go against lets say Griffon or Xcelerator. But even if you take Hansapark which has two great costum coasters with a classic Schwarzkopf Looping-Racer and an Gestelauer Launched Eurofighter - they have "only" two. In the US/Canada you would find at least twice as much major coasters in a park that size. Not to say our coasters are bad - but much fewer in number.... If you take for example SFMM, Busch Gardens Tampa or Cedar Point you can go from coaster to coaster all day and can be lucky if you can ride each twice - even on a day with little crowds. Can't remember such a day at a german park....
  12. In the US you are really pampered with parks featuring tons of large costum designed coasters - and I envy you sometimes for it.... Here in europe even "big" parks "only" have 5-8 credits - a thrid of them family or kiddie - plus even the thrill coasters are mostly small or standard variants from the manufacturers and seldom large costum designed coasters. "Average" parks normally have 1-2 thrill coasters plus 1-2 family/kiddie coasters - so you can't amass credits as fast as in the US - unless you've a big transatlantic travel-budget. The only thing we can count on are the classic travelling coasters on our carnivals - and they're only a subway-ride away....
  13. Thanks for the great report. Looks like a great park with a nice coaster selection including two classic Schwarzkopf coasters. I enjoy the oldies today - in a new park I mostly do the fancy new coasters only once, due to the longer lines, and then park myself into an Schwarzkopf coaster - with no line - for the rest of the day.....
  14. @snoflake15 As operator I'D stopped the train on the lift and she HAD to get out climbing down the stairs....
  15. Haven't done too many but love the launch of Fluch Von Novgorod (Gerstelauer Launched Eurofighter). After a short drop it goes from 5 km/h to 105 km/h (3-65 mph) in 1.4 seconds....in total darkness.....
  16. All plans weather permitting: Sep. 13 - Attractiepark Slagharen, Netherlands (Schwarzkopf Looping-Star) Sep. 16 - Walibi Holland (Intamin Mega-Lite) late Sep. - Hansapark, Germany (Schwarzkopf Looping-Racer, Gerstelauer Launched Eurofighter) late Sep. till earily Oct - Oktoberfest Hannover, carnival (Schwarzkopf Wildcat & Zierer Flitzer)
  17. Even if something would've happened I doubt the operator would be liable in germany - he posted signs according to the law and if someone is stupid enough to injure or kill themselves on a ride its their own fault. Thats also why all our flatrides are literally open to step onto - even when its moving. They all have red or neon warning-signs and/or prints in german (GEFAHR) or english (DANGER), plus the operating-space/danger-area is marked in blood-red - and with that law is satisfied. Even if someone steps into the operating ride when he's not paying attention its called an accident beyound the liability of the operator - and if minors get into them the parents are liable because in germany they have to supervise their kids. Two current examples of open rides were you can step onto the ride any time: The small fences on the sides of Shaker are there to protect poeple from falling of the plattform only.... The inclined "fence"-pieces are there to sit on for you to wait for the next round...
  18. I love the new trend towards live actors inside the spookhouse darkrides - some of them really know how to sneak up behind you....
  19. Maybe this was once on the european carnival circuit and the girls are painted topless or with nipples - typical american to paper them over.....
  20. Even if I enjoyed the ride on Goliath at SFMM and Colossos at Heide-Park - at 60 meters height a wooden giga-coaster - I like looping or inversion coasters more. So I ride a giga-coaster if I can get onto one but I'm not really waiting for one at my local parks.... And honestly: For me giga-coasters are mainly just going up and down....
  21. Vekoma SLC at Heide Park - and replace it with a B&M inverted....
  22. Steel: Superman - Escape from Krypton (SFMM) Wood: Colossos (Heide-Park)
  23. pics from my second visit: Ferris Wheel from the entry station - one of the biggest portable "Riesenrad" (Giants Wheel) in the world noted! KongaXXL View over the whole fairground. The grey squat building on the right is a WWII above-ground air-raid bunker - well as you see it survived the bombs and today houses a music-club in the basement and artist lofts. I see loops.... Airwolf wolfing around Log-flume ride. Also one of the worlds biggest portable ones - with a 21 meter drop. As we were on the wheel a Teststrecke train was stuck inside one of the three final brakes - the malfunctioning brake was taken out of service with the auxilliary brake doing the job. A whole lotta shaking going on.... Queen Mary 2 in hamburg port... Swingey 1: I love the programs they do here in germany - I did one of these at Belmont park and it was so slow and boring.... Swingey 2 View from the log-flume.... Whoooooosh The new Zierer-made Teststrecke train on the lift Shoulder-free loopin' around Braking - as one of the brakes was out of service the slowing down was nearly B&M smooth... Highflyer View from the Highflyer....
  24. AS I think that it's an interesting concept I also think that a company picking the track-layout up has to come up with a different train-system. The one featured in the vids is definetly to close to the Arrow/S&S system and I think they would sue against this trains for patent reasons. Or the best way for him would be to try with S&S Power....
  25. Hillarious.... Cute animals always steal the show from the best rides - still remember the perfect white ducks they have at Tivoli Copenhagen in the park...
