First picture is my first and second tattoos. The first one is the one to the right, a Native American medicine wheel. I got it about nine months into my Navy career to commemorate the name I was given in ceremony about a year earlier, FourWinds (as in North, South, East, and West, hence my screenname). The four colors inside the wheel (clockwise from upper left) are black, red, yellow, and white, and represent the much-needed unity of the four races of man as one human race, and the eagle feather hanging down from it represents strength, wisdom, and foresight. The second, the dragon, is obviously the Mortal Kombat dragon. It doesn't necessarily represent the game, but more so the time I spent deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operation Southern Watch and Iraqi No-Fly Zone enforcement. Being in the Navy, I was at sea for much of the time. Playing Mortal Kombat 3 fairly often during that time made being in a combat zone a little more bearable. The two above are across my shoulders, the dragon being across my spine just below my neck. The third tattoo is in the second photo. It came from Sydney Australia on my second deployment, and represents a blending of my love of Egyptian Mythology with the fact that the symbol itself often represents the sun, which is also a powerful deity in my own religion. It's on the outside of my right shoulder. My fourth tattoo is an Inuit thunderbird, a mythological creature believed among many Native tribes to be responsible for thunderstorms and wind, particularly through the beating of its wings. The two heads represents the time in history when Russian explorers traveled through Inuit land. The story of how I got it is this: I took my wife for her first tattoo, and the person doing the work was a good friend of ours, a fellow Native American artist (his art happened to be tattoos). He only worked on a no-cash barter system, so we offered him a collection of pristine feathers from a particular sacred bird of prey. These feathers are very hard to come by, and he felt that one tattoo was not nearly worth what we were giving in return, so he offered to give me a tattoo if I had a design I liked. I looked through his notebook and this particular thunderbird "spoke" to me. It's on the outside of my upper left thigh.

Pretty much the entire script of "The Big Lebowski," but this one stands out: Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't drive a car, I don't f**king ride in a car, I don't pick up the phone, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as sh*t DON'T F**KING ROLL! Also, not a movie quote, but a TV quote: I clicked on a popup and got caught in a pornado! - Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) - "Bones" episode "Girl in the Gator."

70's Soft Rock and pretty much anything remotely related to the '80s (movies, music, games, cartoons, TV, maybe not so much '80s fashion anymore)....but SSSHHH, son't tell anyone. I have a reputation to uphold

I studies Aikido briefly about ten years ago while I was living in Japan, but I never took it back up when I returned to the states for a lack of studios in my area. Nowadays I study Capoeira, a Brazilian martial arts dance (also known as The Dance of War).

Some of my favorites. You might recognize a few from various random Photo TRs. Amazing panorama of the Berkshire Mountains, Western MA. Believe it or not, I took this photo from ground level. The USS Joseph P. Kennedy, another museum ship at Battleship Cove. Looking straight up through the smokehole in the top of the old kiln. The ghost of the USS Fall River, named (obviously) for my city. I love the sky in this photo! Battleship Cove at sunset, taken from the Fall River Boardwalk. The river is called Taunton River, the CITY is Fall River. The sun, THROUGH THE TREES! A few dozen feet from the old kiln. The Fall River Heritage State Park building. It could TOTALLY be a loading station! A view of Pringle Hall's entrance - another of the older buildings at the War College. Luce Hall, the second oldest building where I work, the Naval War College. The window of an old pottery kiln in Western MA - the day I sh*t-canned my trailer. One of my earliest photos of Katie-cat, emerging from the baby bouncer. The late, great Digit, enjoying a walk in the field. I miss you, Digit! Battleship Cove and the Braga Bridge, Fall River MA The same Apache, THROUGH THE...well, reeds, but it's a little closer to TREES! Apache helicopter, THROUGH THE...mooring chock? -

New Reality Show Called: On The Lot. Airing 2007

^ Sorta, but not quite. PGL was originally for screenwriters, then season two included directors, but this seems to be primarily for filmmakers. -

I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but my last concert was Taylor Dayne, as part of Fall River Celebrates America, August 2006 (see my crappy pre-digital-camera PTR here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27855). Turns out it wasn't a half-bad show, but that was partly because it was included with fair admission. Not a show I'd go out and get tickets for, but hey...decent way to kill 90 minutes relaxing after eating tons of crappy (I mean stellar) fair food.

Orient Express

^ Dear lord I hope so In any case, *MY* inside sources just gave me this little tidbit today about the synthetic quicksand: Seems a few years back Cedar Fair staged a little corporate/industrial espionage and sent agents out to all the Paramount parks to spread this synthetic quicksand. Fast forward a few years to where Paramount is taking losses, ostensibly due to rising costs (so they say?)...who swoops in and buys the properties at a deep discount? Cedar Fair. Why is Cedar Fair the only company to do so? Not because they're the only company financially able to, but because, being the engineers behind the synthetic quicksand, they are the only ones who have a countering agent to stabilize the land. Conspiracy theories rule!!! -

^ A quick search of the forum will turn up a number of resizing hints. In fact, the thread below is probably the best one to learn from, because it gives a you number of options. Resizing is very easy to do in any case. You'll find that your fellow TPR members will greatly appreciate it AND will be much more receptive to both viewing and commenting on your TRs: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17901 -

pete4winds replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ ^ Actually, what Wes ISN'T telling you is that it's a particular kind of synthetic quicksand, specifically engineered by Cedar Fair. They used the same quicksand under Magnum, and that's why IT is sinking as well. -
I'm happy to mention that great minds truly do think alike, because this is already a sticky! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18645&start=880 Oh, that, and Happy Valentine's Day...

At this specific moment, I'm wearing Magnum Elite side-zip tactical assault boots (yup, I'm at work), but at home I also have a pair of Ozark Trail hiking boots and a pretty basic pair of Converse sneakers (sadly, no, they're not from the classic Chuck Taylor line)...wait, are they even Converse? I don't even know, come to think of it.
