Best Theme Parks in the UK?
niiicolaaah replied to JulieWent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would definitely recommend Blackpool. It has many coasters, none of which are spectacular IMO, but all were fun. It also has a lot of cool dark rides, some of which are historic, like the River Caves and Noah's Ark (one of only two remaining in the world). It also has a lot of quirky theming and a good sense of humor. Lots to do and see. -
^That's cause most of them were taken outside! OK, i overrule everybody, I say my theme song is "Jingle Bells" or the Marineland theme song.
-
Ugh! I am so offended! I NEVER take blurry pictures, so I cannot imagine why you would choose that as my theme song.

Hated coasters you like.

You know you haven't been to Disney in ages when the only things you recognize are Big Thunder and Haunted Mansion. lol. Great photos, Derek, makes me really want to plan a trip to Florida! -

Ditto. It makes me very excited for the new Dollywood coaster.

^For enthusiasts, yes. For the GP, Boomerangs will always be popular. Boomerangs are NOT a fad. They've been around for over 20 years and parks are still building them. http://www.rcdb.com/installationresult.htm?page=2&column=1,10,3,4,5&order=1,2&model=1 Not a fad.

Hopefully, Zamperla Volares will die. hehe. I think Impulse coasters are pretty much done. I can see Vekoma Tilt Coasters going nowhere, as well as (hopefully) the Maurer Sohne X-Car Coasters. Standups seem pretty much done also. But you never know! Things can take interesting turns! For example, B&M Dive Coasters... many thought Oblivion was just a gimmick, then several years went by and we have Shiekra! I would like to see more of: -Intamin Accelerators with twisted/inverting layouts as opposed to ones designed for sheer height -Vekoma Booster Bikes -Intamin woodies -Intamin inverts -Maurer Sohne spinners with custom layouts What do you guys think will become of the 4d?

Boomerangs become outdated? Never! The first ones were built in the 80s, and parks are still putting new ones in. They are a good investment for a park. Relatively cheap, small footprint, and the GP love them. Yeah, but Magnum is a complete ride. TTD has the height, and that's all it has. Not a very interesting layout.

Best (and worst) "Sounds" on a coaster
niiicolaaah replied to Jon Sabo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite coaster sound is Balder riding its upstop wheels. -

Hey Robb... do you remember who I am? We met in England once

I started collecting pins on the UK trip. I have Thunder Coaster, Apocalypse, Velocity, and Valhalla (the last one thanks to Derek!) What a pathetic collection! I also have Drayton Manor and Flamingoland erasers... what a random thing to sell at an amusement park!

- I have three jobs - I hate them all - I go through periods of time where I am working and taking classes 7 days a week - I still have no money - I still can't find a "real" job - Even when I do, I'm not going to like that job - My parents annoy the crap out of me - I live like 7 hours away from my boyfriend Let's see, what's NOT annoying me right now?

Thunderbolt - same park - altered in some way by a different manufacturer
