  1. Hopefully the crews at the park knew how to react to crowds like that and pick up on the operations. They most likely did. But that always seems to be a struggle for parks in California these days.
  2. They claim that Revolutions trims will be removed right after they put on the restraints. Awesome! If only they were serious...
  3. How do you launch an Intamin Accelerator? Do you just press two buttons and the ride goes boom or what? Thanks for the answer.
  4. In all seriousness, Windseekers aren't the only ones that are getting a bad rap. I've heard that Sky Screamer at SFDK is just " boring and pointless" too. I think most people are over-estimating these rides to be "insane and crazy" and then come off the ride disappointed. Since Windseekers are noticeably taller than the Star Flyers (even in the eyes of a GP) I think they'd get a slightly better reputation on average. Just my two cents. If the GP are just going to bitch about it being too "relaxing", then let them do it. I wouldn't have a problem with the Windseekers being a relaxing ride. In fact, I'd prefer it.
  5. "omg it waz soooooo boring!!!11! da coaster iz sooo much funner!! i want a ride a coaster ride!!11
  6. ^Nope. That's going to take at least another year. Have you seen how long it's taken them to finish painting the supports alone?
  7. After realizing all the great things he did, I'm really excitied for Ouimet and what he will be able to do for Cedar Fair. He knew what he was doing at Disney, hopefully this will be the same. This is great news.
  8. Demon at California's Great America. I like old Arrows.
  9. If you look at picture back on page 830, you can see a white fin looking object that's on the tower and starts about halfway down. It looks very similar to the kind of brakes used on Intamin Drop Towers. I'd imagine that these are exactly the same thing. So if the cables were to snap I guess it would turn into a drop tower and fall until it hit those brakes. Fun.
  10. *facepalm* That is actually one of the stupider things I have ever read in this thread. That is not a typical GP comment, that is just plain stupidity and ignorance. Six Flags West Coast Bash. Almost makes me want to actually build a park in RCT3 and name it that.
  11. I love the Facebook comments: "Is that Rip Tide?"
  12. The funny thing is, Cedar Fair didn't even own the park when these "incidents" even happened. Yeah, maybe they owned it once the island was put in (don't know if that was Paramount or Cedar Fair that did that) but that dosen't mean Cedar Fair should be sued. You don't just blame another company!
  13. ^That's quite different from the typical one or two train operations we see today. Wow, the have really taken the charm out of Reveolution over the years.
  14. Hmmm... A guest? I think not. Way to go media, you've done it again! Glorify stories like this then add a twist to make things seem more serious. I'm sure SFMM never told the media anything about it being a guest. And don't even get me started on how they chose to fly a helicopter over to circle the park for what was obviously a boring story to begin with.
  15. ^True. At this point, if nothing is announced in a couple months, we might as well start letting other Cedar Fair parks call dibs on our good rides. But hey, at least we don't have too much longer to find out.
  16. Maybe a wasp stung him at the bottom of the pretzel loop and he totally freaked out and thought that he was hurt by the roller coaster.
  17. Maybe Demon's next. That way there wouldn't be single coaster in that particular picture.
  18. Thunderhawk isn't a B&M Invert FYI. It's a Vekoma SLC.
  19. Really? From my experience it's the complete opposite. I'm a little biased towards SFDK, but the crowds are better (the CGA crowds seem more like boisterous teenagers) and the coasters are smoother and more fun. Also there are a lot more things to do for people who don't like rides or for young kids who aren't tall enough to ride. It has it's faults, but I was not impressed with CGA at all when I went there several years back. And it doesn't seem like it's made any improvements since then. That's honestly my opinion and what I've noticed. The crowd at SFDK seems more "ghetto" to me. That's probably because it's in Vallejo, which is one of the most unsafe cities in the Bay Area. Santa Clara is a bit more upscale. Both parks can have rowdy teenagers in the park but these days, that's pretty much unavoidable in all theme parks. I just like CGA more. But to each his/her own.
  20. I want you to be drunk more often. K?
  21. 1) Raptor 2) Flight Deck (CGA) 3) Alpengeist 4) Silver Bullet 5) Batman: The Ride
  22. I know that line jumping can happen anywhere, but it really is going to depend on what type of crow visits the park. If you're in SFDK, I personally find a lot of not-so-civilized poeple cutting in line quite often. It's always the young, immature teenagers. Disneyland gets visitors who know how to follow the rules and can respect them, but even there it happens.
  23. Isn't that the truth! I 100% agree with this. SFDK has a rowdy atmosphere, employees that don't know what they're doing. Plus, who wants an theme park in Vallejo?! That's a horible spot for anything fun! And with that, not much more needs to be said. If you don't understand what I mean, please read MeSum1's post instead.
  24. ^You kind of just proved my point. CGA IMO does a better job at preventing experiences like that from happening. SFDK does a bad job at managing crowds compared to other Six Flags parks. 10 rides at CGA? I'd be happy if I got on half of that at SFDK with the crowds way have been (and operations). And I live 15 minutes away!
