  1. The accident has nothing to do with the park getting a coaster or not. Most of the time these parks have an idea of what they are getting months in advance. I seriously doubt they would cancel a planned coaster before it was supposed to be announced. Next year the park will see some improvements to the kids area and NTAG /Shockwave are operating which will be good.
  2. This should be a fun flat ride for the park. I always like when parks add thrill rides like these. I like its one with the water jets.
  3. I'm sure these water ride things are fun for the families. Maybe next year is the year of Iron Boss.
  4. I think they could of just announced the park is going to be open all year round now. That is always big news for a park.
  5. Just think some of that money there not using on a coaster could be used to hire better workers to run things around the park. New improved kids area and new workers for 2014!
  6. That first drop is awesome with the inversion to start it. It looks like its going to be another winner from RMC. Why hasn't Cedar Fair jumped on this? Looks I will be trying to go down south next year.
  7. The eXtreme 14 and drop sticks was just SFFT marketing the announcement. They had fun with it. I think this is good for the water park because I've been there days where the water park is more crowded then the actual park. People of San Antonio area love them some water parks. Plus I'm going to have to check this out.
  8. I like the layout, it looks great. Also looks like I will need to head back to Chicago next season. RMC just knows how to make them and I think this will be up there with Outlaw Run.
  9. Same here I got lucky and only bruised my left knee. I am pretty sure I lost about 5 pounds from sweating though. Of course that was the 5 pounds I gained from eating at Lambert's.
  10. I never been to Phunfest but if you never been to Knoebels, then you should definitely go. It's always worth the drive to ride Phoenix, play some fascination and grab a few rings on the carousel.
  11. But its Hershey, they build coasters on top of coasters. So they can build as high as they like.
  12. Wait! Where was this Oreo funnel cake? How did I miss that?
  13. I like the park is adding flyers. I also like the changes coming to the Hotel even though we knew these changes were coming. They could continue to sell the rooms regardless because of the convenience of the area so its good see them putting some money into the hotel.
  14. After seeing those last few photos of Silver Dollar City. I just want to go back now.
  15. SANDUSKY, Ohio (Aug. 27, 2013) – Cedar Point® amusement park/resort, known around the world for its record-breaking collection of rides and roller coasters, announced several plans for the 2014 season, including introducing two new family rides, changes to the park’s Camp Snoopy area and more details on a two-year renovation project to Hotel Breakers. Joining Cedar Point’s impressive lineup of rides next summer will be Pipe Scream – a Disk’O Coaster, and Lake Erie Eagles – a Flying Scooters ride. Located along the Gemini Midway, Pipe Scream is billed as “combining the best of a roller coaster and a flat ride in one.” Riders will spin and coast over 302 feet of track, reaching a maximum height of 43 feet above the midway and a top speed of 43 mph! Pipe Scream is manufactured by Zamperla, Parsippany, N.J. Across from Pipe Scream, Lake Erie Eagles will also soar onto the Gemini Midway and will treat a new generation of Cedar Point’s guests to a classic thrill ride. Riders on Lake Erie Eagles will sit in one of eight ride carriages that are suspended from arms located more than 28 feet above the ground. As the ride begins its cycle, the carriages will swing outward simulating the sensation of flight! A paddle on the carriages will allow guests to alter their flight experience from mild to wild! Lake Erie Eagles is manufactured by Larson International, Inc., Plainview, Texas. In addition to the Gemini Midway improvements, Camp Snoopy, celebrating 15 years of family fun at Cedar Point, will also see enhancements. The kid-friendly Frog Hopper ride will be relocated to Camp Snoopy and re-themed as Woodstock’s Airmail while the Jr. Gemini roller coaster will be renamed Wilderness Run and its entrance will be moved into Camp Snoopy. These two popular rides will join other family favorites such as the Tilt-A-Whirl, Lolli Swing and Camp Bus and will bring Camp Snoopy’s ride count up to an impressive nine rides, many of which parents can ride side-by-side with their children. “We are excited about these new additions to the park,” said Jason McClure, incoming Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point. “Following the successful introduction of GateKeeper, we believe these new rides and upgrades will continue to make Cedar Point the perfect vacation destination for families of all ages.” The beginning of a two-year Hotel Breakers renovation project will also commence this winter. Phase one will include upgrading a portion of the exterior of Hotel Breakers, while phase two will take place over the 2014-2015 winter season and will feature upgrades to both the exterior and interior of the hotel. Conveniently located between the sandy shore of Lake Erie and the mountainous roller coasters of Cedar Point, this popular family vacation destination boasts more than 500 rooms, many of which provide sweeping views of the Cedar Point Beach. While preparations are underway for the 2014 season, there is still time to enjoy all of the thrills and chills that Cedar Point has to offer as the park is open daily through Labor Day. Then, the park reopens for a Bonus Weekend (Sept. 6-8), followed by the 17th annual HalloWeekends® event, Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 13-Oct. 27. 16. Joypolis and the area around it is one of the many reasons I must do a Japan tour. Just looks like way to much random awesomeness.
  17. ^ That is great to see the park that busy. I recently went to Conneaut a few weeks ago and liked it a lot. I was so happy we did the haunted house walk through. The workers in there did a great job and it was set up very well. I remember talking to a guy taking photos at the park and he knew a lot about the history of the park since he has been going there for the last 30+ years. He doesn't even ride the rides anymore, just goes to relive the past. Anyways, great to see the park is moving in the right direction.
  18. Seeing that picture of the drink cup they gave us reminded me of the 6 refills of delicious frozen lemonade I got. It was great riding Steel Eel because I forgot how fun it was over the years.
  19. I like the idea of a "Treehouse of Horror" maze for HHN. They could also do a "Krusy Fun House" maze. I remember the game being full of rats. But that could be the gamer in me talking. Introducing HHN Newest Maze
  20. I can't wait to find out about this GIANT announcement
  21. ^ Jamie, why do you have to tease us. Will you let us know what the #eXtreme14 is soon?
  22. My problem is I don't go out of my way for kiddie credits (unless of course I am on a tour with TPR) and I always just seem to go back to the parks that I know and like. But I finally got my 300th coaster a few weeks ago on Thunderbolt at Kennywood. #300
  23. Cool report, I should of done the Schlitterbahn day. Oh well, its not like I live far from it. That pizza was delicious.
  24. I live on Planet X so this is great news. YAY!!
