The Official TPR Update Thread!
Mrlittle replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I clicked on the YouTube link and now have a song I never heard before stuck in my head. BOO TO YOU! One of these years I will go to Mickey's Not So Scary event. It always looks like a great event. By the way, that sushi looks really good at Splitsville. -

Does the Bat count as a new credit? Just kidding Seriously this is awesome news. Will make the area look great and we know the Bat will not go anywhere for a while now. -

Photo TR: The Kiwis Do Texas Midwest 2013
Mrlittle replied to mattnz's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hades 360 is the worst coaster I've ever been on. At least Cyclops was still fun for what it is. -
Is it possible that the cinnamon bread is better at Dollywood? I thought the theming was better at Dollywood as well. But..Silver Dollar City has the better coaster lineup. Silver Dollar City also had the really cool cave tour. The whole atmosphere of the parks and customer service were great at both. Dollywood really surprised me my first visit and SDC delivered the same. Could I vote both? This is probably one of the toughest Burning questions that has been asked. I'm going with SDC, purely because on the Texas/Midwest Tour. Dollywood was amazing to us on the New Hotness Tour but SDC just went beyond anything I could imagined. Free bag of goodies at the end of the night. A buffet that a King would enjoy. OUTLAW RUN ERT!

I found this interview that NewCaney.com had with Grand Texas Theme Park. You can click on the link if you like to read the whole interview. Grand Texas Interview But here is a quote from the interview I found interesting. So perhaps a kiddie coaster, a GCI or Gravity Group wooden coaster and some kind of unique steel coaster. Just found this to be interesting. Hopefully, we find out more soon. (Would it be to much to ask for another RMC in Texas?)

How do you watch your movies?
Mrlittle replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How many DVDs or Blu-Rays do you purchase each year? Maybe like 3-5 Blu-rays a year. Normally around Black Friday when they go on sale. How many digital downloads do you purchase each year? Maybe like 1 a year for me. How do you purchase digital downloads? (iTunes, Stream, etc) iTunes or Amazon Do you download directly from iTunes to your device, or iTunes to your computer, and then transfer to your device? iTunes to my computer then transfer it among the different devices that still have room. Is a 1.5gb - 2 gb file "too big" for you to download to your device? Most of the digital movies I own are around that size. -

If you would of asked me this question about 3 years ago, I would of said Six Flags. I will say certain Six Flags parks do seem to be doing fine or rather not heading in the wrong direction. (Looking at you SFOT, a park that was in my top 5 and has just dropped over the years) But Cedar Fair always seems to have the better employees, better ride selection overall, and better food choices. Plus FAST LANE is amazing. Seriously, it made our Cedar Point trip so relaxing and more enjoyable. I feel like Cedar Fair is definitely heading into the right direction. Plus between CP, KI and KD, you have a lot of my top coasters in those parks. So I pick Cedar Fair over Six Flags right now. I love to see a Cedar Fair park come to Texas.

Its been many years since I've been to the Adventuredome. This is definitely looking like the coaster to get me to go back. Thanks for the updates. -

Silver Dollar City (SDC) Discussion Thread
Mrlittle replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's just the wheels because the train is literally trying to pull itself off the track. I actually want to ask SDC how many wheels do they estimate they will go through in a season. -
I feel the theme park industry is still growing as far as what can be done to the human body. Just like RMC is being innovative with wooden coasters. I'm sure Intamin (or insert other company) will continue to create things that will push the human body in steel coasters. Someone should just tell the writer to go to IAAPA next month.

How bad was it storming? They definitely can't operate in lightning, but I was wondering if Florida gets day long rainouts like we get here in Ohio sometimes. I'm honestly debating on canceling now. I'd rather not go at all than go and not get on the coasters. Trying to talk my parents (who spent the hotel points and miles and such) into letting me reimburse them so I don't get dragged onto a plane (I HATE flying and this might be the only thing that could motivate me onto a plane that isn't professional, I actually temporarily called this trip off in the summer after flying to Mexico for vacation and finding out just how scary it is) for nothing. Well it was raining badly and very windy. However, everything was still open. The park was still packed for a rainy day so we still had use quick queue for the rides. I wouldn't cancel your plans, the park like other Florida parks are used to getting showers. I would just go to the park regardless of what the weather is. You might end up with a empty park and coasters are fun in the rain. Plus BGT is worth it.
