I haven't started Lord of the Flies yet, so I picked up Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis. It's the retelling of the myth between Psyche, her sister, and Cupid. Quite good so far, I've always been a fan of Lewis's writings. ---Brent

September 12th, Glasshouse in Pomona, THE AQUABATS!!! w/ Goons of Doom, Assorted Jellybeans, and The Action Design. Goons of Doom were fantastic, totally mellow, chill band, and one of the most brutal pits of the whole night was to a song about rattlesnakes. Assorted Jellybeans, I'm SO glad these guys got back together, they put on an absolutely fantastic show. The Action Design...I went outside. And the grand poobah, the greatest of all things great, the raddest of all things rad, The Aquabats! They absolutely destroyed, hands down my favorite band of all time. I can't speak enough good words about these guys, if you don't know who they are, go look them up! They're the creators of the infamous Yo Gabba Gabba! Do it now! ---Brent

Last Saturday my dream finally came true. I saw the best band in the world. I saw...The Aquabats. They were quite possibly the best band I have EVER seen live. EVER. I had so much freaking fun listening to the random banter from MCBC and the rest of the band. And the music was awesome, I'm going to go see them September 12th at the Glass House too, super stoked for that. Then the next day, Sunday, I went to Vans Warped Tour. I was quite blown away, I discovered a lot of really awesome bands. In entirety of their sets, we saw Saosin (meh), TAT (Britain can still make awesome punk bands), Streetlight Manifesto (always put on a fantastic show, always!), Less Than Jake (love them), Big D and the Kids Table (WIN!!!!), NOFX (quite funny), and...The Adicts (one of my new favorite bands)! ---Brent
