  1. I saw Avatar in 2D at first and then went and saw it in 3D to hear what the rage was all about...and it was a huge difference in picture quality. Like WOW, the movie was a lot more interesting to look at in 3D than in 2D. ---Brent

  4. Last night I journeyed on down to the House of Blues at Downtown Disney (the California one) and saw Reel Big Fish with the supporting acts of Starpool and Chase Long Beach. WOW, what a great show! Starpool has always been one of my personal favorites and they were fantastic last night. I was blown away with their talent and their pit provided the only time I was able to dance the whole night (more on that in a bit). I'm not a huge fan of Chase Long Beach, like at all, so I just went upstairs during their set. As per usual, Reel Big Fish was mind blowing. Their set was about two hours and they played all of my favorites, including Beer which has to be one of the best songs ever written. The pit was quite rough and there was no real area that I could skank in cuz the floor was super small (for those who've been to this HoB, you know what I'm talking about) and there had to be at least 300 people down there in that 75 by 50 foot floor. All in all, a very very fun show and Aaron Barret rules! ---Brent

  6. 1.) Finally! I've never wanted to join ACE (for obvious reasons) but to call TPR my official coaster club/membership place thingie gets me very interested. 2.) What you've listed is even more perks than what most coaster clubs offer nowadays anyways, so no, I really can't think of anything to add. 3.) I am without a doubt interested! 4.) Same reason as above 5.) Very, very rad! I'm stoked to see if this sees the light of day! ---Brent

  13. ^ You went and saw them at the Glasshouse? I love that venue so much, so much space to have fun and run around in. That is, until the ground gets all sticky from all the spilt beer and sweat. ---Brent
  14. This past Friday I had the oppurtunity to go see my favorite band...for the 3rd time! I went to the Music Box @ the Henry Fonda to see THE AQUABATS!!! with Supernova and Buck-O-Nine. Seriously, hands down my favorite show ever. I absolutely loved the openers, Supernova was a band I would defenitely consider going to see again. They rocked the stage! Buck-O-Nine played three songs I liked, including a cover of Sound System by Operation Ivy, which was absolutely phenomenal. The crowd was nuts the entire show, I really enjoyed skanking and moshing to my hearts delight! Heck, I even crowd surfed for the first time, which was hecka fun. And then the highlight of my life, The Aquabats! They had an amazing setlist and Santa destroying the Giant Tortilla Man has to be the greatest moment of any show ever. All in all, I loved it and I can't wait until their next show! ---Brent

  16. Yes everyone, I have to confirm such rumor to all. Batman is in fact being painted blue. I was at the Mountain today and it is in the process of getting painted a dark blue and black. In contrast to what everyone else has been saying, I think it looks GREAT! Seriously, just the touch up Batman needed. Also, the park is painting tons of things. We got a tour with Mr. Jay Thomas himself today and he showed us a variety of the new upgrades that they're making. First off, they are repainting and redoing the infrastructure of the majority of Gotham. The new scenic painting should look really, really good and I'm impressed at the simple fact that they would take this time at the end of the season to really step things up. Also, a ton of stores and eateries have been repainted throughout the park. Some of the more noticable ones are Flags and the one next to Suzette's Bakery, they are bright blue! Jay told me that they chose that color to draw people into the store, which I thought was a good technique. He also took us on a tour through several of the bathroom redos, and MAN! They are really doing some great stuff to those toliets . Seriously though, the new bathrooms on the way to X2 above Flags are looking very, very spiffy and clean. There is also a ton of behind the scenes renovating going on, with the employee cafeteria getting completely remodled and the whole lounge areas and break areas for all of the employees are getting some sick murals and paint jobs and new materials and everything. I was extremely impressed by the amount of work being put into the small minor details. Mr. Thomas never ceases to impress me and I thank him very much for the tour he gave us today and for the expediated ride wristbands. A very, VERY good day at SFMM. ---Brent
