  1. Now if only Mercedes built roller coasters... Great PTR! I thought the park was "interesting" to say the least, but Rumbler kicks some serious ass!
  2. Already been discussed in the other topic. Thread closed.
  3. ^I don't think your tone was called for there, I don't appreciate that. I will, however, try and better answer your question. You even said it yourself that you don't like stuffing them in your pocket without a case, so bring a case with you! Before you board the train, just ask a ride op or a greeter if you can wear your glasses with a strap. If they say no, throw it in the case, if yes then go for it. Its not like the ride is going to be totally different if you cant see anyways. And if that still helps you in no way, call the park. Thats the easiest thing you can do.
  4. Dude, save yourself some drama and just take them off. Its the parks policy, just abide by it.
  5. ^^^Yup, and damn was it a lot of coke! The gents and I in Costa Rica
  6. I saw these while driving home tonight. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures! 2008 STi. Evo X > STi Evo X
  7. Done. Or do I need to change it to "This thread: An arguement about what to title it"? Just kidding...
  8. The fact that X2 is playing "Wake Up" makes me a very happy Colin! Seriously though, even if it still rides the same (which I can't judge having never ridden it) it really looks like they did an awesome job with the transformation. So big props to Magic for taking on a project like this, and I hope all of the efforts to make the ride more reliable pay off.
  9. Its been a while, but this is me.
  10. ^ +2 In other news, the most expensive car ever sold was sold today. I copied this from my 190 forum, but there is no like yet so this will have to do. The Most Expensive Car Ever Sold Is…. Posted: May. 20, 2008 The most expensive car sale in history took place last Sunday. Carscoop reports that the world record was set "when RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby’s, managed to auction a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder for a mind blowing $10,976,000." The car, once owned by actor James Coburn, was bought by U.K. radio personality Chris Evans. In sleek, glossy black, it's unquestionably a beautiful car. But even vintage car experts' jaws dropped at the sale price. Autoblog reports, "The initial estimate from RM Auctions was nearly half the sale price." Motor Trend tells us, "The Pininfarina-designed car features a 3.0-liter 12-cylinder engine making 280 horsepower." According to Wikipedia's current entry on the car, about 55 were ever built. We haven't found an estimate of how many are in working condition. And no, the one wrecked in Ferris Bueller's Day Off wasn't real -- just a Hollywood copy. The eye-popping sales price got us wondering…what on the current automotive market could Evans have had for his dollar? The obvious answer is the next Ferrari California. The storied Italian automaker is reviving the nameplate for a beautiful 2009 droptop, which, the Los Angeles Times tells us, will feature "a folding hard top, a 4.3-liter V-8 engine that develops an impressive 460 horsepower, a seven-speed gearbox and a zero-to-60-mph time of under four seconds." That's 180 hp more than Evans' new car. And for his $11 million, he could have bought about 27 of them. The projected cost of the new California is just under $400,000. But Evans' purchase has more exclusivity. What if he'd wanted that more than anything else? Bugatti will build only 80 of its new Veyron Targa hardtop convertible. They are expected to cost around $2 million, so for the price he paid for the 250 GT, Evans could have bought five. That, by the way, would have netted him 5,005 horsepower. If performance was his issue, he could have bought himself about 50 Lamborghini Gallardos to outrun his California in a straight line, or 180 Lotus Exiges to outperform it in the corners. Just for fun, we'll look at the cheap cars, too. Evans could have had 949 Smart Fortwos -- room to transport almost 1,900 people in tiny little cars. He could have bought over 1,100 Chevy Aveos. Then, he would have had more than 113,300 total horsepower in his (very large) garage. The best selling car in the United States last year was the Toyota Camry. He could have bought one of those for himself, and one each for his closest 580 friends. But Evans is British. The U.K.'s best selling car is the European version of the Ford Focus. He could have had more than 640 of those. Lastly, we'll note that he could simply have bought a decent share of the company. At the prices available at close yesterday, Evans could have bought 576,575 shares of Fiat Group spA, Ferrari's parent company. With that big an interest, he could have probably asked them to build him two copies of the black Spyder.
  11. I would have posted earlier, but I had to take a rather long break after the Ferrari pictures! This is an awesome report just from the combo of cars, WDW and Knobels! I really need to get to Knobels, but I guess I can wait until FT opens (unless I die first).
  12. ^Just because you're a BMW fan doesn't mean you have to buy only BMW's. I would definitely own a GTR no questions asked, and if you've seen the GTR V-Spec, you'd want one too. 0-60 in 3 seconds FLAT! Its 120k, but still thats a good price for a car like that.
  13. Hey look! Its Brad and Jeff (I ditched you with them, Matt, at Steak N Shake!) This ride looks really really REALLY cool, to be honest. I hope its a success and I see no reason why it shouldn't be. Thanks for the photos, Matt.
  14. This looks great and everything, but I have two questions: 1) What is preventing the rotating portrion of the wheel from just sliding off forward or backward? It looks like there is NOTHING to stop that! 2) How do they plan on evacuating this thing? I don't see any stairwells or anything on the wheel to assist in this, or maybe I'm just crazy (or maybe they just dont!)
  15. Ha, okay dude, whatever you say! Have fun with the Mini, I hope its worth it in the long run! And I do love my car, I love it to death, but even I have a limit as to how much is too much.
  16. ^You know for that kind of money you want to sink into your car you can buy something like a used STi or an EVO that will do all of that right out of the box, right? Not trying to sway you or anything, just want to point out that even at discount this will cost you a lot of money and effort...
  17. ^Honestly dude, there is no reason you need an AWD Mini unless you have some SERIOUS power under the hood or are driving on roads that require it which I don't think there are any of in New Jersey. Getrag makes some great drive systems, they even made one for my car, but don't expect it to be cheap. It's going to cost a LOT to just purchase the thing and even more to have it installed. Don't think you will be able to go lightyears faster either, you will feel little to no difference should you do it. The Mini is light and sporty enough as it is. The money you could spend on an AWD system would be much more benificial upgrading the current engine-bay if you really want a fast car. They didn't turn these things in to rally cars for no reason, they do just fine with a FWD setup.
  18. We already have a general video game thread located here that you can ask this question in: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=279032#279032 Thread closed.
  19. Let me just say that I am already insanely jealous of all of you planning on doing this event! It should be a blast, all of you have a great time!
  20. Seriously, thats great they got the falls back on. Thomas Town looks great so far, its surprising to see how far they've come along since I was there two months ago! Anyways, major props to SFMM!
  21. Yeah this is kind of pointless. Thread closed.
  22. ^^I agree with the photo albums. Maybe not Facebook style with all the tagging and stuff, but more like photobucket where you can batch upload and then see your picture with various links below it that can be used for image pasting and such, just like photobucket does.
  23. ^Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but how do you know this to be true?
  24. I'm pretty sure the ball coasters use the same lift system as Farenheit does, and those are more then vertical. Not trying to say it doesn't need testing, and it should considering that this is the first time this system has been used with "regular" sized trains on it.
  25. ^Tis true, but you have to be amazed at how safe this sport is. The car stayed intact for the most part keeping him really safe. He didn't "walk away" from it, but he was concious, didn't look like he had broken anything, and most importantly is alive but a bit shook up.
