The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
TheStig replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^Yeah I sort of noticed that, but thanks for pointing it out. No more creepyness towards Dan please! -
Here are a few photos and comments from a couple of my visits last week... In conclusion, I had fun on the thing, but I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for it in the future. After seeing the transformation in January and March, I thought that SFMM did a great job with the end product. Oh, did I mention they were indeed running three trains that night? Same with the rest of the park, max trains that were available. I was impressed with that. Thanks for reading guys and gals. The effects were cool, and being a fan of fire in general it was cool to be blasted in the face with it at night! The music track itself was good, but half the time I couldn't hear it over the ride itself. A little louder, and it would be awesome. My overall reaction to the ride was "Wow, it's really really really fun! But nothing is mindblowingly amazing about it either". I really did enjoy X2. Besides hitting my head pretty hard in the last raven turn, I thought the ride was very smooth for its size and design. Granted I was in the second row, inside seat, with Joey next to me! ...however after reading numerous reports of how rough it was, how it beat the crap out of you in some cases, and how some people said X2 was no different ride wise than the origional X, I set the bar pretty low for my first ride. Which brings me to X2. These are all taken from outside because my ride was a few days before at night. Having never ridden the origional X to compare X2 to, I can't say if it was better or worse than the origional... The Scream crew was also doing a good job that day. I will say that I do think X2 is smoother than Scream. This pretzel is still probably one of my favorite elements of any coaster out there! During my three visits I rode Tatsu twice. The first time it was down to one train operation, and while that isn't good, the crew did try to get people through as quickly as possible. The second time I visited the park, the Tatsu crew was the best crew of the night IMO. Two trains, two stations, and they were really hustling to get both trains out as quickly as possible! Good for them! Sorry, I'm a sucker for classy-retro stuff! Revolution also got these shiny new trains! I wouldn't say they ran "smoother" overall, but in some areas it did feel a bit different. Still, I think they looked really slick. Deja Vu was up and running, but with single rider closed we didn't wait for it. It was in rehab last time I was there for West Coast Bash. I find these things really fun, and I'm glad Magic decided to keep theirs. Moment of silence. Thank you. The other "Attraction" in Thomas Town is Cranky, which also looked really awesome. But to echo Jahan, there weren't a lot of people in the area! Which I think is sad because it looks really nice. Maybe if there was a LITTLE more to do for kids there it would be more popular, but so far I think it's a great addition to the park. The only thing negative I have to say about the train ride was this area. Everything looked, well, dead! Considering that it is in California in the middle of summer, I can't necessarily put the blame on the park for this, and I wont. Some things you just cant control. All the employees waved, and this one in particular did a great job with the vocal part of the ride. It really gave a "happy" feeling to the area. Next up was the train, and WOW the station was really well themed! I was impressed! Percy looked REALLY nice! Of course I was too tall to ride, but still it looked popular with younger kids that were in the area. Thomas Town had also been completed since I had last been there, so we went and checked it out... Despite the glorious look on my face, I really liked this flume! So did Mike apparently! Log Jammer! They were really putting people through on this ride. What looked like a 20 minute wait only ended up being about 10! Two men on a quest for... Picture of the front of the park. Since I had been there Valencia Falls (it is Valencia Falls, right?) had been turned back on! It actually looked really great! My co-star of this report will be Mike (Mr. Six)!

The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update

Hey I've seen those bags before! Glad the trip got off to a good start, Seabreeze looks like one of those "interesting but really fun" parks like Beech Bend! -
Hey there! I see you are new, and thanks for joining TPR! I'd like to bring to your attention you text shorthand, lack of punctuation, and lack of spelling in your posts. PLEASE read our TOS located here before making any more posts. Also, you do not need to bump your posts like you just did for the sake of bumping, but feel free to add video like you mentioned when you get around to it. Thanks and enjoy TPR!

^Honestly, I wouldn't call the CR-V a SUV. It's more of a crossover, like the Rav4, Tiguan, etc. Small SUV if you will, and those are great, I'd put them in the same category as a wagon.

I had just gotten out of the shower, stuff started moving around, Elissa started yelling "OH GOD! OH GOD!", stuff shook even more, I threw on a towel, opened the door to Robb yelling "YOU'RE GOING THROUGH AN EARTHQUAKE", closed the door, put on clothes, brushed my teeth, and watched the breaking news for like 3 hours while doing East Coast stuff. It was a blasty blast.

^Now you look stoopid! ^^That guy in the red if my favorite hunk!
-
Yay! Mike definitely fits my "Smooth and sexy" taste far better than anyone else I know!
-
Hey all! So, I'm just wondering...what is everyone's favorite hunk? Personally I like em' smooth and sexy!!! Yummm. What about you? -Colin

Honestly I would consider flying to Sandusky. Dan and I did a little research and it's MUCH cheaper in some cases, so I would say look in to that. Have fun on your trip!

Okay so I know Jahan asked that we talk about things that are going on at Magic currently and all that jazz, and thats pretty much what I'm going to do. As someone who isn't local, doesn't really care to "defend" the park, and who has been there for the DVD thing and WCB, I think that my opinion is really unbiased. I did a lap with Joey last night and thought that Magic, for less than two hours until closing, was fantastic. There was a little trash and stuff in the que of Goliath as Joey pointed out, but for 10:45 pm, why wouldn't there be? The whole park, from what I could tell, was running the max amount of trains possible at the end of the night. Granted they were stacking, but they were atleast running three! Some of the employees were kinda dicking around on the mic in the Goliath station, but they were having fun atleast which is a hell of a lot better than being emo and "joining the black parade at work". I finally got on X and my overall reaction was "It was good, nothing amazing, but definitely interesting". I really set the bar low for the ride after all the horrible things I had heard about it, which I think really helped. It was a much better ride than I thought, and I would ride it again but not if I had to wait more than 30 minutes. But like I told Robb, it's definitely a "Raging Bull" and "SUF" type ride where it does a lot, and what it does is really really really fun, but nothing about it is "Orgasmic". And yes I did pull an Elissa and hit my head in the last raven turn thing, but besides that I thought it was really smooth and fluid compaired to what I had been expecting. We did stack for maybe 6-8 minutes, which I think could EASILY have been prevented with an unload and load station like it origionally had. If they could set it up where you could run the station the way it was now (one station, load and unload) with TWO trains, then it would be super effective. However, with three it would be cool to run both stations with load and unload seperately, and be able to advance without rotating the seats. Hopefully they can do that eventually, as it would speed things up bigtime with three trains. So really, on what was a peak day for the park, I had an awesome time in a little less than two hours. Thanks Jahan for meeting up with us for a little! You still owe me money, but you're a good guy. After hearing everything that Jay and Tim had said at both events, it seems like they are really trying hard to keep their word as best they can. And thats good, because I can honestly say I've never had anything but good or stellar visits to the park. Good work SFMM.

That was actually pretty awesome....the PTR, not your sideburns. Good stuff man.

Hell if the Puegot Diesel Hybrid was sold over here, I'd seriously sell my car to save up and buy one. 100mph sounds fantastic to me!

When I become rich and famous, I'm going to buy back every single Hummer I can and blow them up along with the plant (if it's still around). And the Saturn plant as well.
