  1. I've been wanting to comment but also wanted to wait to see more progress on this coaster. It's exciting to see a new invert being built since you don't see too many new inverts built anymore. I had the impression that it would have been a little bigger than it is but as evidenced by the multiple Batmen out there the smaller inverts seem to pack more of a punch and this one looks like it might be equally intense. That first drop looks pretty wicked and for some reason I can see the back seats getting whipped through the tight twist coming off the lift. The overbanked turn looks similar to what I've seen in pictures of Knott's Silver Bullet or is this one more steeply banked than SB's?
  2. ^^Does it really matter? With Behemoth a B&M and if this is a giga it will more than likely be an Intamin they both offer different ride experiences even if they may appear to be similar ride styles. Intamin coasters are a bit more intense/aggressive compared to a B&M. However you look at it it's going to be a win/win situation at CW next year.
  3. You also seem to be forgetting that CW is one of, if not THE top park in attendance for CF, even beating out CP. I would like to see a giga coaster in Canada since there isn't any there however to build one in what seems so soon after Behemoth is what I would find strange.
  4. I'm actually liking this - A LOT - which is odd since when I305 was first announced (and this ride seems to have taken some inspiration from it) I was not exactly thrilled with the layout (massive first drop and all low to the ground turns and small hills, IMO, seemed like a waste but with all the raves it gets I really need to go ride it). For some reason, I guess due to Skyrush's size, the hills and ground turns look better asthetically. Love the new train style even if it is a half-wing coaster. Can you imagine riding a giga in one of these, especially in one of those wing seats? You'd crap your pants (lol). Congrats to Hersheypark for bringing something unique to the U.S. for 2012 and congrats to Intamin for designing a truly unique looking train for it.
  5. Wildwater Kingdom (Geauga Lake) - all I ask is that you add some new slides already. It's been five years since you added Tidal Wave Bay and haven't added anything significant since. You have plenty of room to do it. A few suggestions: A mammoth bowl slide A large family raft slide A couple of speed slides A mat racing slide A water coaster (like Wildebeest)
  6. Count me in as one of the few who remember the original 70's movie. I like the name but talk about a dark theme for this ride. I hope this doesn't become a trend for new ride themes in the future.
  7. ^Wow, 61 acres is quite a chunk of property. Wonder if it's the area behind Boomerang Bay or the area behind Hurler. Won't be surprised if they decide to do a Castaway Bay type resort hotel since they already have the campground or maybe a relocation of the water park.
  8. SFA isn't going to promote it as being a "used" coaster. Despite this news of Iron Wolf leaving SFGAm this should be looked upon as great news for SFA. How long have people been complaining about the need for a new coaster at that park? I'd surely take IW over KD's Shock Wave anyday, especially if they get the Georgia Scorcher-style trains.
  9. Robb, I was uploading photos, didn't have much of a problem, then it would seem like the upload would freeze and I would be redirected to an error page, losing all the progress I made. It happened to me three times. I should learn to save a draft as I go along.
  10. No, Vortex is still closed. They changed the early ride times from Windseeker/Vortex back to Beast/Diamondback. I would have thought they would have replaced Vortex with Firehawk or Flight of Fear.
  11. Here's a pic of KI's Windseeker sign at dusk. I've been trying to post a TR from my visit but have had issues during the uploading of photos.
  12. Invertigo at Kings Island yesterday evening. Don't worry, I got a night ride on the Beast on Thursday night.
  13. While waiting for one of my Beast rides yesterday I was standing in front of a group of girls. During the spiel they say "Enjoy your ride on the world's longest wooden roller coaster" and one of the girls says "There's a coaster in Texas that's 5 minutes long." I had to think for a second. They decided to ask the ride op how long the coaster is, time wise. Then the same girl raved about The Rattler. I shuddered.
  14. Yes!! Carowinds could really use a few new flats since most of their flats are in Planet Snoopy. This would be a fine addition to the park and the height of the swinging pendulum will again change the skyline. Great choice, Cedar Fair.
  15. Having just returned from two days at Kings Island (have to get the most out of my Gold Pass to make it worthwhile) the park was absolutely dead. So when the park has rides that were near walk ons to very little wait why would someone plunk down $50 bucks when it's actually not needed? And yes there were a few who took advantage of the program. I only saw people at Drop Tower and Diamondback use the system. The Fast Lane booth is at the Return Visit/Ticket Upgrade to a Season Pass booth to the left of the main gate when you walk in next to where you get your photos from the park "papparazzi" when you first walk in in the morning. The signs are everywhere, you can't miss them when you see them as they are the same sign as was posted on their website. In most cases you'll just walk up the exit ramp however there is a separate queue at Drop Tower that is next to the entrance that was already there when the ride was built. Diamondback's single rider line is no longer (and that was to be expected). I'm pretty sure Delirium uses the queue that is to the left of the actual ride queue. At the Beast you will walk up the exit ramp but instead of taking the exit ramp all the way up, which is how you would enter the ride via wheelchair, you will branch off into what was an employee only access ramp. There was an employee stationed at the Fast Lane sign at the ride entrance so I wonder if he/she will escort you to the platform. I did not see anyone use it at The Beast the past two days. I took a photo of the Beast Fast Lane entrance to better show you how it looks.
  16. If Dragon Fire should go there is a nice little park out on Grand Island, NY that could benefit having a mid-sized looper.
  17. I'm already disqualified as I just hit year 8 (just found out CPM wanted it by year 7) but I'll post a few pics anyway. This is probably the best RCT2 park I've made, which isn't saying much. I've already restarted the scenario once but I don't feel like starting over again. I was too busy trying to expand without depleting my funds which is why it took me this long. I don't like taking loans out unless it's absolutely necessary, especially since the first loan at the start was paid off. The Abyss, the newest coaster. Schussboomer Chimaera, the Vekoma boomerang, squeezed in between Spellcaster and Renaissance River log flume.
  18. Yes, I totally understand where you're coming from. Though I can still handle the rides I don't really power ride like I used to. I get just as much enjoyment seeing the sights, the landscape, and people having a good time as I do riding. I've also noticed that I wear myself out a lot quicker than I did just a few years ago so I'm trying to adapt to taking my time and not rush between rides.
  19. This just doesn't want to die... Woosnam is the laughing stock of our area. Gets it for $5K and tries to sell it for 50 times it's worth. And the rolling stock has been sitting out in the elements rotting despite they were supposedly being stored inside. He doesn't seem to get it that nobody wants it. I drove by the park today on my way to the Aurora outlets. Very sad sight to behold. It would be much cheaper to get the blueprints and rebuild from scratch than to try to save the ride in its current state.
  20. No Invertigo? That one needs it more than Diamondback.
  21. I don't see how it would be odd to have more than one launched coaster in a park as long as it offers something a bit different in the ride experience. It hasn't stopped the U.S. parks from having multiple launced coasters in their lineup. Heck, CP built three in a row from the same manufacturer.
  22. Only two rides have scared the crud out of me. 1. The first time I rode the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere back in 1996. It was also my first S&S tower ride. To be launched even higher than the top of the Stratosphere and looking down on the city it felt like there was nothing below you to catch you on the way down. 2. The first time I tried the Xtreme Skyflyer at Kings Island. It's a skycoaster but for the longest time I had a slight fear of these types of rides but I had a strong desire to try one. Since KI usually runs a good deal on this I decided to face that fear. Those first few seconds of freefall really scared me. Now I'm hooked and try to ride it at parks that have a decent price for it.
  23. But Powder Keg is a launched ride and has received great reviews. Those huge new S&S launchers that Happy Valley installed recently look amazing. It could be one of those. How far is Gardaland from Mirabilandia? A 4D would one up Raptor.
  24. Ninja is actually a Vekoma. Supposedly from what I've read Arrow started it for the Expo '86 up in Vancouver but couldn't finish it so Vekoma took over. I didn't have a problem with it when I rode it though it has the best headchopper ever when coming out of the sidewinder. Talk about a near buzz cut. Screamin' Eagle was running like a champ last year and was my favorite ride (with Mr. Freeze and Evel, err American Thunder) running very close behind. I love the colors on the Skyscreamer. In what ways was the ride better than the Windseekers?
