  1. 1. Alpengeist 2. Talon 3. Raptor 4. Batman (SFMM, SFGAm, SFGAdv, SFStL) 5. Flight Deck (CGA) 6. Great Bear Alpengeist I absolutely love at night plus I think it has the best first drop for an invert. Raptor is excellent but even better when the mid-course lightly taps the train like when I rode it a few year's ago. Batman at SFStL seemed a bit more intense than the others, not sure if its because its mirrored, but it was the first time I felt blood rushing to my feet on some of the turns. SFMM's seemed faster than the others. Great Bear is unique due to its location but there's a lot of straight track after the zero-G.
  2. Thanks for the TR. I was planning on going yesterday but knowing that this is the first park in the region to open around here that everyone would make a mass exodus to Kings Island and your pictures proved it. Seems like you had a good time despite the crowds.
  3. I sure hope Viper won't see that kind of modification. The ride is great as is.
  4. Thanks for the update. Usually when the flag is placed a ride is topped off but Mach Tower looks like it could go up another two or three sections. Right now it seems too short to be 240 feet (in relation to where the magnetic brakes are).
  5. I had the same thoughts as well. The horseshoe after the first drop, a first for B&M vertical loop, and what appears to be a double in-line twist towards the end sure seem like they got the idea from Vekoma. That 540* roll is insane and the first drop seemed almost vertical. This could very well be the best flyer B&M has created. I kind of find it odd that China has been on a flyer kick since the theme park boom had started. Seems almost every new park built has included one.
  6. Wow, that's more than I was expecting. I just figured they would light the tower with big lights like what they do with Delirium and Drop Tower and that would be it. That's going to be an eye catcher to those traveling along I-71 at night.
  7. A part of me wants to say "yes" to the lap bars but the other part of me wants to say "I hope not" as lap bars would mean restrictive seat belts thus preventing many from riding due to size. Why can't Intamin incorporate a retractable seat belt system which would eliminate the struggle of trying to buckle the seat belt for us "larger" riders? It definitely would help with faster dispatches.
  8. I haven't been paying much attention to the viral campaign as I'm just looking forward to the announcement but when I saw this potential layout a few pages back I felt like chiming in. This looks more like an Intamin layout than a Beemer as it reminds me of, based on the many photos I've seen of it, Expedition G-Force in Germany.
  9. Actually Geauga Lake's was called Mind Eraser from when it was installed in 1996 through 2003. I've been on: Mind Eraser/Head Spin - Geauga Lake Boomerang Coast to Coaster - Darien Lake Vampire - Kentucky Kingdom Boomerang - Knott's Sidewinder -Hersheypark I actually like boomerangs. The only bad one I've been on was Knott's.
  10. I thought the bird crap all over the ride was CP's attempt at theming Raptor.
  11. 1. GCI wood twister 2. B&M invert 3. Huss Giant Frisbee 4. Intamin Giant Drop 5. Mack log flume
  12. The parts I remember from Tomb Raider were: 1. At the start you were slowly lifted to come face to face with the large goddess on the wall. In her hands were a red crystal for fire and and blue crystal for ice. The face would then turn angry and the ride would then give a freefall-type effect. 2. Another part would be the carriage would then be lifted until you are looking straight up at the stalagtites/stalagmites on the ceiling with skelton remains mixed in. Sometimes you can feel drops of water in certain seats. I believe the first upside down flip was right afterwards. 3. As mentioned you would eventually be held face down as the lava pit came to life. This would be just water with fiery colored lights. There would be small geysers that would shoot up towards the ride vehicle and I believe there was one seat where a rider would actually get hit by the water. I did the Discovery Channel shoot for the ride in 2002 and it was a blast, getting about six or seven rides during the shoot. The ride experience, from the theming to the storyline to the music all worked really well for this attraction. It's a shame it can't be like it used to be.
  13. Congratulations, nin and SoCal. Now we have a template for if and when another RCT2 contest is created. Thank you to those who voted for my park. It was more than I was expecting.
  14. I really like the look of this park. The extensive foliage, the great look of many of the park buildings - it appears to be a great example of a smaller family-style park. Keep up the great work!
  15. The winged demon animatronic was pretty cool but the ride experience is laughable now. I miss the Tomb Raider ride cycle.
  16. Hanno, simply awesome photos. I am very, very impressed with how this ride turned out.
  17. Another awesome addition to SFSC (I actually dig the Gerstlauer spinners). Better than a Dark Knight clone. All this time I never realized that the back part of Batman was against a cliff. That was a surprise for me to see. That spot next to THBS could be a Huss Giant Frisbee.
  18. Waldameer's X Scream is a Larson and is one of my favorites. That drop has quite a punch to it. Love the fact that you don't sit there at the top.
  19. I don't ride too many as it seems some parks have adopted the "no single riders" policy for their car rides. I would have loved to ridden Kennywood's but because of that policy I never got to ride it. Of the ones I've been on.. Merrie Oldies at Geauga Lake - not the greatest theme wise but you got good views of Double Loop. Le Mans at BGW - I only got to ride this once but I remember a nice long ride. Antique Cars at Kings Island - the year they turned it into the "Route 666" attraction for Fearfest, I believe was in 2003. They did a fantastic job hiding the monsters along the course.
  20. Wow! Stunning night shots and really cool how you made them look grainy and vintage. The carousel building is stunning. Looks like Kennywood and West View have some serious competition.
  21. I play RCT2 the most though I've messed with RCT3 and have some custom scenery for it.
  22. I really like the look of the outdoor concert venue. I also like the photo of the bridge with Superman you posted in your previous update. Very scenic. I'm going to hate to see this come to an end.
  23. I just submitted my entry. This is the first time I've ever entered a game contest. It was fun. I like to keep my parks more on a traditional level than to do an all out theme park with RCT2. I basically kept the park as is except I removed the wood coaster for expansion opportunities and eventually relocated the Lakeside Looper (Enterprise) when it came time for a new attraction. Here's a few screenshots.
  24. I would be fine with the antique cars coming back. KI needs more family flats and non-coaster rides.
