  1. ^At least Steel Venom is an Intamin so you can't say they aren't represented at Valleyfair. Valleyfair is the last CF park without a B&M of some sort. It could be possible it will be the next coaster to come to Shakopee.
  2. Premier may not make as many coasters as some of the bigger companies but when they do they seem to really make them very unique and interesting. I like the twist and dive into the tunnel portion over Superman's plaza. This may seem like a stupid question but what side of the mountain will the loop and top hat be - Goldrusher side or Log Jammer side? I'm trying to envision where it might be in some of the photos.
  3. The train looks odd with the space between the forward and backward facing seats. Maybe B&M should create winged trains with Invertigo-style face to face seating.
  4. Thanks to everyone for all the updates. This is turning out to be a quite an impressive looking coaster and what a dramatic presence it has from various places in the park.
  5. When the day comes I see Iron Dragon being the last Arrow suspended still operating as it's not as aggressive like KI's Flight Deck and CW's Vortex. I would think that with those two being much faster than ID and putting more stress on their track and supports they will wear out quicker and eventually be sacrificed for parts to keep Iron Dragon running. My guess is that Corkscrew will be next on the chopping block even though it is an iconic part of the midway. With Power Tower and its queues taking up a nice chunk of land I can't see anything else that would fit other than a few new flats or a spinning coaster, which would make up for the loss of an older family coaster.
  6. Now that is a bad a$$ looking train! The amount of detail is stunning!
  7. If you're looking for a good case study just look at Holiday World and Waldameer as great examples as to how to make a park grow. It took building a major attraction to take these two small, literally unknown properties to start the growth they have had the past few years. Parks that seem to grow well and organically know their audience. They also know where their strengths and focus on them. As an example adding or expanding their water parks have resulted in increased attendance. I also think that if a park involves itself and supports the community around it the community will support the park in return therefore giving reasons to grow.
  8. Steel: Mindbender at SFOG, Whizzer at SFGAm, Gemini at CP Wood: The Beast at KI, Screamin' Eagle at SFStL, GASM at SFOG, Phoenix at Knoebel's
  9. The wildest one I've been on is probably the most hated of the bunch - Dark Knight at SFGAm. Never experienced a ride that ran as crazy as that one did on my visit last July.
  10. We'd probably see one of these Chance hyper-lites before we see an Intamin mega-lite in the U.S. Adventureland in Iowa would be a nice park for one of these even though Worlds of Fun is just down the road with a larger coaster.
  11. One great thing about these new wing coasters is that they are quite easily to theme to just about anything. Love the look of the train so far. The lighting will be interesting, especially as you view the coaster from the parking lot at the end of the day.
  12. Wow! Very detailed and interesting views of what the Geauga Lake property could be in an alternate reality. GL's skyline would have been even more awesome from the other side of the lake. Will you post larger images on your site? Ohio's Worlds of Adventure is also an interesting name, sounding like if all three parks existed as separate entities it would almost be a mini resort destination. BTW, send the water park drawing to Cedar Fair to show them what Wildwater Kingdom should look like. They haven't seen anything significant added since 2006.
  13. I think a water park expansion will happen sooner than you think. Although Splashtown is of a rather decent size it still needs more capacity due to the immense crowds it draws. I never quite understood why the water park was built where it is due to limited land to expand on. I guess the next step is to fill in the lake Big Kahuna sits on and build something there.
  14. I've never heard of it as a movie and to say "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown" makes it sound like if he loses the race he's a dead man.
  15. I just took another (albeit longer) look at this coaster and noticed the new style train - sort of a sleeker look akin to Phantom's Revenge's trains and made them a bit more open to expose the riders more. I wonder if this style of train is only for the hyper-lite or can they be used on their currently operating coasters. Steel Force in this style of train would be pretty cool.
  16. Nice to see Chance still trying to market some new products. You don't hear much about them in the news. I like the layout on this mini hyper as it's very different from their larger coasters. Could be a good coaster that smaller kids could ride as the next step to riding the larger, more aggressive coasters.
  17. I remember seeing that drawing and I believe it was a fan's dream of what Dragster hoped to be like when it was under construction.
  18. Just out of curiosity is the Skycoaster a brand new one or is it the big one that used to be at MGM Grand Adventures in Vegas that was listed for sale for a long time? I believe the MGM ride was a 250-foot model.
  19. Had nothing to do today so I headed out to Sandusky to see the ride in person even though it was from Shoreline Park near Battery Park Marina (awesome view of Millennium Force from there). Didn't take my camera as I didn't think I could get a good enough zoom on Gatekeeper but from a general view of the park from that vantage point, it's quite a skyline changer and the blue looks awesome. GK's lift makes Raptor's seem so small. Maybe it's just me but the presence of the ride seems to somewhat "complete" the skyline. Actually it was great to see coasters since winter just seems to drag on around here. Also, while driving along Route 6 in front of Sandusky Airport it looks quite odd not seeing Space Spiral standing there. Though we've all seen plenty of photos of CP since the ride came down to see it gone in person was still a bit odd as it was always the first thing I looked for when heading out to the park.
  20. For a B&M I thought Griffon's lift was pretty fast.
  21. Beautiful aerials of a beautiful park. Quite amazing how hidden Mindbender is in those photos.
  22. Conneaut Lake. It just has a wierd vibe when walking through it.
  23. If it wasn't for the main path running between the two sections I'd say move the main entrance and then combine both sides into one big water park but that would be quite costly. BTW, I think they took out the bridge that crossed over the main entrance path when they turned the water park into a separate charge attraction. I don't recall seeing it last summer.
  24. My first Schwarzkopf was the first Wildcat CP had when it was located where Oceana is now. The first looping Schwarzkopf I rode was Fire Dragon at Lagoon back in 1993.
  25. Maybe I'm pre-judging but based on the photos posted earlier in the CP thread, Gatekeeper will have a "wonderful" view of the parking lot before you slowly twist into the first drop.
