I've been renewing mine online for years, but I don't think it makes any difference whether buy it online or in person. I'd still buy them online to speed things up at bit when you get to the park; fortunately, KD does a pretty good job at processing passes quickly.
Be sure to check out the food booths at the Spring Bloom Festival. Not exactly Epcot or Busch Gardens, but they had some good offerings last year.
I haven't bee to Thorpe Park in, well, a decade, but I liked Nemesis Inferno (didn't care for Colossus). I would like to visit the park again. Thanks for the up-close look.
Hmm--then again, there was this animatronic show in Japan (Rusutsu Resort).

I think it was built by Sally; it's also a bit creepy.
OK, it's been awhile. Here's a "Q" park, even though I haven't visited it myself.
Quassy Amusement Park (Connecticut)
And here's a bonus "R" park that I have visited.
Rusutsu Resort (Japan)
I was expecting more from the splash boat ride while floating to the lift hill, but was disappointed. Not a big loss (Williamsburg's Pompeii is much better).
Wait, seriously? Wow, they under-utilize the capability of that base with Minions. I get that it's a family ride and all but c'mon, grow some balls.
Given that BTTF/Simpsons have the side doors, it makes sense. The motion of BTTF would most likely chuck people out the side of DM!
But yes, they are the same motion bases.
