  1. ^Hmm--probably more information than anyone really needs to know.
  2. Please restrict your comments to the SFNO/Southern Star and refrain from any vague personal attacks.
  3. I think some shade trees on that path would be a nice idea.
  4. This follows Joe Bob Briggs's number-one rule for movies: "Anyone can die at anytime!"
  5. Yes, they are spraying reptile phermones and the reptiles are coming--not a pleasant image.
  6. This movie should be titled "The Bitch Who Created Monsters."
  7. Gets a note that says, "If Ace Of Spades wanted this thread to come to TPR, why didn't he start it himself a long time ago?" Inserts a six pack of Miller High Life . . .
  8. I'm getting the error message, too: TPRBot: Error: Connection status: 503. But at the bottom of the screen now, it says I'm logged into chat.
  9. ^Marriott got out of "the game"--what makes you think they'd want back in?
  10. This is already being discussed in the CGA Discussion Thread, starting on p. 121 (Invertigo's removal is official). You can post about it there. Thank you.
  11. ^That's nice--no need to repeat it. The park's Web site says their opening day as March 5.
  12. ^^I think your mom would have more to do at BGW than KD or SFA while you're riding coasters. It is about a three-hour drive from DC to Williamsburg (but that I-95 corridor can be a pain). Another possibility--you mom can check out Colonial Williamsburg while you're at BGW.
  13. ^Milky Way is pretty good--especially the stand-up side (believe it or not, it actually has airtime and doesn't beat the crap out of you).
  14. ^Maybe North Koreans in ancient times worshipped Wacky Worms?
  15. "Where are we going?" "PLANET 10!" "When?" "REAL SOON!"
  16. I think this is the first Photo TR about Orlando that has managed to generate more 10 pages of responses while going largely without photos of Orlando.
  17. At least the side-by-side seating makes it easier to accommodate lapbars, unlike what Universal did to Ripsaw Falls with its inline seating.
  18. I kind of like Timber Wolf and, oddly enough, Georgia Cyclone, at least in the second-to-last seat, where Erik (whose opinion I respect) told me I should sit. I enjoyed some crazy airtime on GC, but I can understand why a lot of poeple hate it--other riders were complaining about being beaten up. (Still, a truly great, or even good, ride should have more than one "good" seat.)
  19. I don't think this is how Jerry Lee prefers to spell his last name. Excellent report of an amazing trip. I was on the original TPR UK Trip in 2006, and it was outstanding! I'm annoyed that more people didn't appreciate the bonus park; in 2006, our bonus park was Coney Beach, and it was one of the funniest evenings of the trip.
  20. ^Presenting the Three Faces of Timber Falls' coaster (from TPR's 2010 Mid-America Trip): Just pick your favorite one, I guess.
  21. ^I agree. I don't care for Scream, Hydra, or Great Adventure's Medusa (haven't ridden the Bizarro version), but Kraken, Dominator, and Daemonen are great rides.
  22. Well, $10 or so is pretty standard for a cheeseburger at a Chili's/TGIF type place, and these were really good. I would definitely do it again. /Or I might get the $15 hot dog. Remember Chuck is used to flashing his AARP card for discounts. But at Chili's, they provide fries for that $10. But I'll pay top dollar for really good ice cream. Larry, I'm going to hit you with my cane.
  23. You can really tell that Avalanche-Hellcat has crazy airtime, if even my rather unimpressive patch of hair was flying around. Sure, it may surround a mini-golf course, but it beats the hell out of anything at Mt. Olympus.
  24. I preferred Avalanche as well. I can't imagine Hades making anyone's top bottom 5 based on how it ran when we rode it. It was clearly a top 10 or 20 woodie at that time. Based on the reports of several people, it sounds like Mt. O has bitten off more maintenance than they can chew with this ride. Precisely--it could be the old Ghostrider scenario all over again. But, as I said, there were some people on the trip who liked it. It's all a matter of taste.
