  1. I'd say Diavlo. It's a Batman clone located in Central Park, which is in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of Japan.
  2. ^It's one of Angus's fiendish tests. If you flinch, you die! If not, you live another day!
  3. ^It was the spinning that got to me. Our section wasn't full, so it was a bit off-balance.
  4. ^The Dive Coaster was good (Dive Machines usually are), as was the Booster Bike, and I thought the 10 Inversion Coaster wasn't as rough as its British cousin.
  5. ^I agree. Perilous Plunge never appealed to me; besides, it was always broken down whenever I visited the park.
  6. ^That's probably while I felt "bleah" for so long after riding the Half Pipe.
  7. I know that most parks require an operator in the station to declare that he or she is about to "cross" before doing so--but I imagine this is a matter of park policy, not law.
  8. Yeah, Hanno gets great night shots because he knows what he's doing; I do sometimes because I get lucky.
  9. ^I agree that Holiday Hills was the highlight of Christmas Town this year--very well done. And I presume that this mascot was "repurposed" from "Entwined": I'm pretty sure there were dancing Gingerbread men in that show.
  10. 13 years isn't really that long for an attraction. And this wasn't just your standard "4D" flick, either--it was a pretty elaborate show.
  11. I saw it in Orlando and Japan. The latter viewing was with FalafelGirl, who slept through it.
  12. ^The 10 Inversion Coaster didn't get to me--but that stupid Half Pipe . . .
  13. ^Farewell, T2. You're fun to watch once--but I've actually seen it twice.
  14. Happy New Year, everyone--from me 'n' Angus!
  15. I saw The Hobbit this afternoon, and while I found it enjoyable overall, I'm dubious about the prospect of squeezing three movies out of this one novel. They're going to have to pad the hell out of part 2. I think the casting is what saves it.
  16. I think that sums it up pretty well.
  17. Perhaps the original poster was a librarian.
  18. I remember when Porter Wagoner had a syndicated variety show when I was a kid.
  19. Well, if a wheel came off the coach, that is the park's fault (especially if shoddy maintenance is involved). I have no objection to someone pursuing legal action in a case like that, but these matters settle out of court most of the time.
  20. I imagine it'll be something at Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Kings Dominion. Call it, a hunch.
  21. Hmm . . . not sure I would go that far. While I agree that Beast is best at night, there are, oh, about 23 other wooden coasters I'd rather ride--but to each his own. That being said, I like Beast well enough, mostly thanks to its rather eccentric layout.
  22. But this doesn't apply to the person who started this thread, eh? Think first before spouting quaint homilies. Exactly.
  23. Well, those unfortunate guests certainly got a true "Wild West" experience. I hope everyone pulls through.
  24. ^I don't remember what it was, either, but you were all frightfully amused by something.
  25. There's still more to see at Chimelong--especially if you're into bizarre Chinese signage. This is probably the most disturbing sight in the park. I opted for the "onion ring," although the "fied squid" was tempting. I think we may have found the kids area. Just a hunch. "Kinds' Land"? "Boo! Me squash misspelled sign good!" Whew! What a relief! (Well, at least until the next group of kids gets there.) Larry was so disappointed that he missed the show . . . . . . he put on his own. Sheesh! Everyone's a critic! Let us escape this creepy place before it becomes "infected" again! Welcome to the Chinese version of Legoland's Fire Academy. But if you push your car and injure someone, that's OK? England and Scotland united to win one for the queen! I can't believe we lost to a Scotsman and a Brit. "Oh, they all look so good, I don't know who to kill and eat first." Well, how about another look at those 10 inversions? Boy, are those people getting screwed! Yep--I had to pay for that last caption. A 4D movie makes Neil happy. Air conditioning makes the rest of us happy. So it's win-win. Just what sort of "action" did we encounter? Big-wave action! Slutty-chick-with-a-whip action! Good-girl-with-a-gun action! Stupid-henchman-who-are-about-kill-themselves action! See-previous-caption action! Flaming-car action! Flaming-dude action! Everything-blows-up action! And, of course, main-reason-this-show-exists action! OK, remember what I said earlier about the juggling clown being "the most disturbing sight in the park"? I stand corrected. That's all from Chimelong--definitely a park worth visiting.
