Yeah, after riding it a couple of times at WCB, I don't understand the hate for Iron Reef, either. I'd love to see Kings Dominion get something like it.
It was a simulator in the same building where the Simpsons ride is now. What happens is that Biff Tannen steals a time-traveling DeLorean, and you have to catch him and bring him back.
Here's a video of the Universal Japan version.
I don't like the idea of Cobra's Curse at BGT. I like spinning coasters, but I feel that they needed something to take over Gwazi's space.
Personally, I think Cobra's Curse might just raise the bar for spinning coasters. Much better than yet another generic spinner. As for "Gwazi's space," be patient.
^I attended Winter Fest, too, with some friends who live in the Smokies. Overall, we liked it (especially the Christmas dinner), but we all thought the Santa's Workshop show was pretty bad (but at least the theater was heated).
To be fair, you're not missing anything. You probably would have gone in there and went "Wow, what a waste of our time...we could have ridden Mummy again..."
I felt the same way when I finally rode "Disaster."
^I'm not sure that an "upcharge" Haunt or Howl-o-Scream would fly in this part of Virginia. I know that if BGW or KD wanted to do a separate-ticket HOS or Haunt, I would definitely expect more for my money than what they do now. As it stands, both parks make quite a bit of profit on food and drink sales (and Quick Queue and Fast Lane), so I don't think there's much reason to do a separate-ticket event.
