  1. K: KIngs Island
  2. Hmm--seems to me that there was a Haunt pin, but I don't pay that much attention to Merchandise at KD. I think most of the shirts were fairly "generic."
  3. This is why I'm a bit more curious about Kong at IOA, as it looks like it'll be more of a dark ride (using 3D projections). I like to see a good mix of physical and digital sets and effects as part of a dark ride, but I'm not a big fan of sitting in a theater while my chair moves around. Spider-man, which is still the Universal resort's best attraction, is a good example of what I mean.
  4. I'm indifferent to what Universal has announced--and dubious as to the Fallon ride. But, as Robb said. maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. It sounds like the park is becoming "Simulator Land," though.
  5. Screamin Squirrel? Feel the crushing weight of your body concentrated on your collarbones for what seems like an eternity! Yeah, I never expected the Screamin' Squirrel to be the "next big thing." But I am surprised that S&S didn't try marketing more rides like Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City. Yes, it was a "Frankensteined" version of an old ride, but it's a great family coaster.
  6. I would like to experience what this ride was like in its heyday. All I've ever ridden is painful GhostRider.
  7. I agree that Dubai "new park" announcements should be looked at a bit skeptically. Wouldn't mind seeing this one come to pass, though.
  8. ^That Vekoma "Enterprise/Paratrooper Had a Baby Ride" was fun. I: Indiana Beach
  9. Look in the Knott's Berry Farm Discussion thread: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1646496#p1646496.
  10. O: Oliver!
  11. G: Gilroy Gardens
  12. Racers is beautifully themed, as is the rest of Cars Land. But I do like the "Tron" version of Test Track a lot (it was a great way to freshen up an already great ride).
  13. I don't like the idea of Cobra's Curse at BGT. I like spinning coasters, but I feel that they needed something to take over Gwazi's space. Personally, I think Cobra's Curse might just raise the bar for spinning coasters. Much better than yet another generic spinner. As for "Gwazi's space," be patient. Gwazi's queue was used as a haunted house at this year's Howl-O-Scream. Glad to hear some part of that ride was useful.
  14. Thank you for paying attention to this thread. It's "BRAKE" not "BREAK" brake noun 1. a device for slowing or stopping a moving vehicle, typically by applying pressure to the wheels. "he slammed on his brakes" break verb 1. separate or cause to separate into pieces as a result of a blow, shock, or strain. "the rope broke with a loud snap" Thank you. This particular mistake drives me crazy, as well--not just on TPR, but elsewhere.
  15. I agree about going to Haunt on Friday night, if possible.
  16. This is my biggest issue with World of Color also. I *like* the show enough to put about 5 minutes worth of effort into if I could walk up and stand there and watch it, or even walk up half-way through and watch part of it, but it's that commitment of time that I just don't think the show is really worth. That and it closes down California Screamin which annoys me also. Because usually while the show is going on is when you can go hit up the big rides, but not in this case. Oh, well... For those reasons WoC will probably be a show I will only have seen once in my life. (and that was on media day when I didn't have to get the FastPass!) Great report! Looking forward to the rest of it! I've been to DCA twice since World of Color began and have yet to see it. I agree that the "time commitment" is a big turn off.
  17. Impressive-looking concept art; then again, concept art is almost always impressive. I like the "town square" look of Springfield. I hope this park comes to fruition.
