  1. I don't know which rides are using Flash Pass at La Ronde, but it is definitely not limited at SFGAm. SFGAm Flash Passes are valid at Raging Bull, Giant Drop, Logger's Run, Roaring Rapids, Vertical Velocity, Iron Wolf, Batman: The Ride, Superman: Ultimate Flight, Whizzer, and Deja Vu. The main thing that is different about the red Flash Passes is reserving rides. With the old Flash Passes, you had to go to the entrance of a ride to reserve it. With the new Flash Passes, you can reserve any ride from anywhere in the park.
  2. Psyclone didn't open until 1991 so I dont think it ran backwards in the 80's.
  3. I haven't been on Flashback, but taking out Psyclone is definitely a good idea. The only rides I have found more painful then Psyclone are the Vekoma Boomerangs. Obviously, Flashback has already given its last rides. What is the current status of Psyclone?
  4. Hate to rain on your parade, but Wiggles World is going under the tent. The tent isnt leaving.
  5. Maybe sometimes. But more often, I've noticed their rides being under supported and requiring modifications. Just off the top of my head, the following Intamin coasters have had extra supports added after they opened: Wicked Twister All regular impulses Xcelerator Goliath at Walibi Belgium American Eagle
  6. A Disk-O is NOT a credit I don't care if it has a hill in the middle, it is NOT a coaster.
  7. Six Flags St. Louis. 2004 Batman crew. Absolutely horrible. First, I wait 20 minutes in line. While waiting in line, a few teens are goofing around and one of them throws a coke bottle on the nearby Scenic Railroad tracks. One of the crew members makes the guest go on the train tracks and get it themselves. So I get up to the station and what do I see? The crew is bouncing basket balls across the platform. Instead of checking the restraints quickly and sending the train, they spent 3-4 minutes checking restraints while bouncing basket balls.
  8. That means nothing. Cedar Point's Demon Drop lisiting has said "available immediately" since the end of 2005 and it is still standing (and operated in 2006)
  9. Looking at that picture, I think Stuntman's Freefall is headed directly to the nearest junkyard.
  10. http://www.rcdb.com/ig75.htm?picture=16 Better picture of original sign. They are not the same sign. The original is MUCH WIDER.
  11. It's more likely that they were thinking of Six Flags Great America's Tidal Wave when they chose the name since both parks are in Illinois (about 90 minutes apart). It is also far more likely that they constructed a new sign with a similar look since the 2 signs appear to have slightly different dimensions.
  12. ^ No. The parking lot WAS huge. Now as of 2005, 13 acres of that once huge lot is a water park. If SUF had gone somewhere else in the lot, we'd be facing a serious parking problem. Although Hurricane Harbor wasn't built until 2005, I would imagine end of 2002 they were atleast thinking about the water park. That said, I'm glad something happened to make Shock Wave come out instead of Whizzer. I really liked Shock Wave. If you rode in the back row, there was no head banging at all and the drop was awesome. But with Shock Wave gone, we still have Demon which is close enough. Whizzer is the last of its kind in North America. Also it caters to families with a top speed of only 42 mph and 36" height requirement.
  13. Suprise, suprise. Another Geocities downtime Geocities - The Vekoma of web hosts
  14. Now if they could just get 3 trains on Riddler, Goliath, and Viper. Atleast Scream is a start.
  15. Marvin The Martian in 3-D. They arent changing it for Fright Fest this year.
  16. ^^ I'll be looking forward to shorter lines in 2008 Seriously though, amusement parks are not only about coasters. SFGAm just got a water park last year, and a small coaster the year before that. If coasters are really all you care about, I suggest you pack your bags and move to Valencia, CA. Six Flags Magic Mountain would be a perfect fit for you.
  17. http://www.greatamericaparks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=155#155 That is the sign in its current state. The scrolling part no longer works, and they added a Hurricane Harbor logo on each side of the base.
  18. Rectangle. Track bumper cars are just retarded If you can't hit someone head on, then its not real bumper cars.
  19. Another funny one is Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America. It is a stand-up coaster, but while going up the lift hill, there is a recording that says, "Please remain seated with your hands and arms inside the car at all times."
  20. ^ So do I. Why would SF invest the money to get Flashback operating when Shapiro wants to sell the park. Not a great idea for a company that is $2 billion in debt. Same thing for the spinning coaster comments, why would Shapiro dump more money into a park that he does not want to keep?
  21. No. Beverly Hills Cop 3 was filmed at Paramount's Great America. The carousel looks familiar because both parks were originally identical (well, very close to identical).
  22. No, it's not the fire escape. Those stairs go down to the lower observation deck, which is still closed and was closed even before Sky Tower went SBNO.
  23. ^ To say that Papa John's pizza isn't that spectacular is an understatement. They put way too much tomatoe sauce on. It literally tastes like catchup on Wonder bread. I guess I'll be going back to ordering hotdogs at SFGAm
  24. Only the track for Serpent was sold. For whatever reason, the train wasn't included. Also, Viper and XLR-8 are being scrapped. Parts of both were seen in dumpsters.
