  1. ^ Assuming that it is just showers like is currently forcast, the only coasters that should not be operating are Whizzer, Ragin' Cajun, Little Dipper, and Spacely Sprocket Rockets. Hopefully this forcast will atleast partially offset the $19.81 admission crowds.
  2. They've been doing the hand checks on Giant Drop at Six Flags Great America as long as I can remember. I've never seen any issues with it, but people can and do still take stuff out after the ride starts.
  3. ^Darien Lake only got 2 of the 3 trains. This year, Voyage will be running the one remaining original train and one brand new 7 car PTC Train.
  4. ^ Yeah, 2011, let me know when the 2012 season passes go on sale. I'd say 2011 is CGA's equivalent of Geauga Lake's 2007 season, except in this case, the whole thing is going down.
  5. ^ That is from one of Great American Scream Machine's loops. A few years after they opened, the Arrow megaloopers (atleast ShockWave at SFGAm and GASM at SFGAdv) had the tops of the loops replaced with new reinforced track due to stress and frequent welding.
  6. ^^Thanks for the coaster lights and neat park I have two more requests. I'm looking for a couple Full-Tile footpaths, Black tarmac (to look like asphalt) and Beige tarmac.
  7. Three requests: 1. If anyone knows of a HUSS Troika ride out there, that would be extremely useful. 2. Superman: Ultimate Flight queue signs. The ones with the villains and facts. I had them in my park a few years ago but lost them and never found them since. 3. Lighting strings for coasters. These I'm 99% sure were made by Fisherman. Of course now that I actually have a ride I want to use them on, I can't find them anywhere. Thanks in advance.
  8. ^ I'd say atleast 90 percent of 2 train B&Ms (including ALL Batmen for sure) will set-up at the top of the lift if you dispatch the next train as soon as the lift is clear.
  9. I don't know about the rest of the chain, but Great America changed the policy on their website in November or December to imply that the l0ckers would be optional.
  10. ^^ Those pictures clearly show an island and a "one way" sign. Though in atleast one photo, it isn't enforced (maybe the op was on his cell phone )
  11. ^ At Great America, the leg flaps are a visual check. However, each harness should be physically checked with both hands.
  12. In regards to the Glow In The Park rumor, Six Flags Great America has just confirmed on their Facebook Page that Glow In The Park will be returning for 2011.
  13. Based on my experience, the track merging on 8cars (any version) will not work on any OS newer than XP regardless of compatability mode.
  14. I'm glad Chang got moved to SFGAdv. If it came to SFGAm, it would be the biggest disappointment of 2011. Last thing I want is a second slow-loading B&M stand-up that corporate would use as an excuse to not give us another big ride for another 8 years.
  15. ^ I would argue that people lost more stuff on the rides because of the locker policy. People that would otherwise have left their keys, phones, hats, and glasses etc. in the bin in the station are now forced to ride with those items in their pockets and then lose them during the ride.
  16. Personally, I haven't really noticed much change in capacity. Certainly not enough of an improvement to justify continuing angering guests and discouraging in park spending.
  17. Something is definitely up with the loose article policy, atleast at SFGAm. Until the recent site update, SFGAm's loose article section featured language similar to what is still used on other park's sites clearly listing the 9 roller coasters that you could NOT bring anything past the entrance. SF has done some random stuff, but I can't imagine them changing that wording unless the lockers are going to be optional.
  18. If it was converted to a floorless, then yes it would be a great addition. But that was never in the plans. I would much rather let Great Adventure have Chang and Great America get a new coaster in 2012 or 2013 than get another B&M stand-up and then wait another 9 years for a major coaster.
  19. Really? You are complaining that these slides are similar to stuff we already have, and then going on to say we should have gotten Chang, ANOTHER B&M Stand-Up
  20. ^ How can you seriously think Chang was a good idea? We already have a B&M stand-up. All Chang would have done would be to make it that much longer before we get a decent sized coaster type we don't already have.
  21. ^ My guess is something in the "problem area" is lodged in the track. They probably used additional devices to secure the train before evacuating, since there are no brakes anywhere during the ride that are capable of holding a train in place.
  22. Not at all. All it confirms is something will be there this year.
  23. Awww...I liked the 1950's diner style blue seating! Oh well. I don't think the coaster police will get after them for this. Now, Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear....that would be a different story. The "if we can find it" and the end of that quote leads me to believe that they are trying to find new upholstery that will be very similar if not identical to the existing material. Moving on to the seat belt comments, they are there. Deal with it. I could have told you November 24th that they were going to add seatbelts. Eagle and Viper both have seatbelts, and their lapbars are far more restrictive than Dipper's.
