Altitude - 320' B&M Giga [NL]
DougMJr replied to DougMJr's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^^The spine is just a bunch of 3ds pieces I made in sketchup. I like the station too, but it looked better in sketchup than it does in no limits. ^This will only be my second coaster I've ever uploaded to the forum. I'm guessing you really liked the invert I did then! Thanks, it means a lot to me. -
The Santa CLAW! Live Claw Machine - Crane Game!
DougMJr replied to Skramp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I get out of work at 10, and I don't have class until 1:00 tomorrow. So maybe I'll get a shot at the claw this year! -
I decided to do something the polar opposite of my last project. We're going from super compact to Giga! Altitude is a 320' tall B&M Giga utilizing the new larger lift spine. This is my first project with 3ds and I'm really excited about it. Very steep first drop. I haven't actually measured out the angle yet. Some moderate ejector air in the back seats. Here is the station. It isn't finished yet. Still have to add gates and scenery. I like how it turned out though. The back of the station and the "wishbone" exit. I did duel ramps so one could be used as a fastpass line if the park desires. The supports on the lift are finished. And most of the lift stairs are in place. Yes there is a Barrel Roll after the lift...But it's different than Levi's. It also will have airtime on the way out. I wanna ride now! Too bad I have tons of work to do on this thing... like finish the layout! More coming soon. Comments appreciated.

^You'll need sketchup pro. Unfortunatly the free version doesn't let you export to 3ds. You can get a student copy for a reduced price. Or you can get it "other ways." Although I do not condone that. -

I got a student copy of Sketchup Pro... But I had to run it thought Anim8tor becuase sketchup exports 3ds with funkey colors. I used solidworks back in high school so I was kinda familiar with these types of programs. This is the first thing I have ever done in sketchup though. -

I've changed my mind. I want to work on something the total opposite of compact. Yesterday night I started work on my new B&M Giga! This time with custom 3ds scenery! So far all I really have done is the station, and even that is nowhere near complete. I still have to add gates and stuff. But I'll probably do that near the end of the project as I am not sure how I want to layout the station yet. Guest will enter the station via this ramp. I'm probably going to divide it in half and one half will be a single rider line. The "wishbone" exit. You can keep both open or use one as a FastPass/Qbot line. I'm going to create a thread on this once I think of a name. If you have any suggestions on a name let me know. Comments appreciated. -

^It's pretty easy and takes only a couple minutes. Maybe I'll post a tutorial using GIMP. -

The Official TPR Bag of Crap Thread!
DougMJr replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I got my IAPPA Bag-Of-Crap a while back and I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to re-size my photos and upload them... But you know what I have had time for! Carrying around my new man-purse with PRIDE! I'm confident in my sexuality. ^Sexy You know what else is sexy? A BOX-OF-CRAP! Ok This box has such high capacity! "Ok, everyone scrunch together for a picture. Closer... CLOSER!" Punch a hole out of my man-card! I got me a shoulder bag! The big two, get along now. I've had my picture taken on the bottom coaster (MotoCoaster). Signed the release and everything. Sadly I have not seen any brochures with the picture. Lol. If you have not watched this segment of the IAPPA videos you have not LIVED! This actually went on my luggage minutes after the box came. I had to leave for Canada a half hour after it was delivered. I'm feeling wet already. B&M Certainly has one of the nicest booklets ever. Very well designed, a reflection of their coasters of coarse. There is a TON of reading material in the box! It will take me a while to get through it once! Just imagine all the times I can re-read this stuff! That night, man-bag in hand, I traveled to Canada. Dreaming of further exploring the contents of the box when I return home. Thanks again TPR for the great Box-Of-Crap. I would encourage everyone to keep an eye out and follow TPR on facebook and twitter for your chance at a bag-of-crap. -Doug "IAPPA Shoulder bag... it was a GIFT!" Mandell Jr. -

I like Photoshopping my designs into the environments I intend for them to go in. I'm working on a very compact project. Even more so than my last project. This too will be intended for an indoor park, although it could just go into a small space. -

The Most Shocking Ride Removals
DougMJr replied to Kingsislandfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nightmare At Phantom Cave at Darien Lake. I remember it boing a pretty OK ride, especially for a park who had so few coasters at the time. Also, it was only open for two years before it was moved to Great Escape... Seems like a waste of money to me. Moving a ride after two years. -

^That last shot makes Levi looks sorta like Millennium Force's brother-from-another-mother. Nice to see progress on the first overbank. -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
DougMJr replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That reminds me of something. Once I was riding Big Wheel at Darien Lake and the girl in the control booth kept saying "welcome to boomerang... Thanks for riding boomerang." I figured she just finished being an op at boomerang and was just saying out of habit, but I still had to give her a little bit of a ribbing. On our next revolution as we neared the control booth our group put our arms up and screamed. When the ride ended she seemed to get the hint. She responded "thanks for riding boomer... Oops!" And gave us a smile from the booth. She was hot too, I would have tried to get her number had I known that my then current relationship would be ending in a week anyways. Not really a GP thing, just thought I'd share. -
What are you most excited for in 2012?
DougMJr replied to Chroniq's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^When your at Niagara Falls be sure to do the Niagara Jet Boat tour! Best thill at the falls. Also Martins Fantasy Island is close so if you a credit or two you could stop there. Also, if you can I would recommend going over to Canada to see the falls. The view is way better. -

^YES! YES! A million times YES! This makes up for not being able to afford Leviathon in addition to new hotness. I will defiantly be at the Bash. -
^Are you sure you were not suffering from White Coat Syndrome when you got your blood pressure checked? I'm always on edge when I go to the doctors. Just calculated mine here using an online BPM counter and I'm at 57, which I think is pretty good. I don't really work out but I keep a healthy diet and I don't smoke and I hardly drink.
