  1. I'm planning out my trip for next year and just realized that Canada's wonderland is less than 3 hours from my house. Shame on me for not getting there sooner! That drop looks promising, I'll have to try to get back row my first ride.
  2. ^^ I can't decide which coaster is better... I'm divided.
  3. That story makes me sick... And that cabin steward should sue the "mother" of the dead newborn, that has to be very traumatizing. I know she didn't tell anyone, but do cruise ships have protocols for if a woman goes into labor? IMO you should hold off until you had the baby before you take your cruise.
  4. ^if your serious about a trip you could email Elissa and discuss possible solutions, or perhaps an exception. I believe this question was asked during the live chat also. edit: I checked and this question was addressed during the chat and posted on pg 1 of this thread.
  5. ^I don't think that's "dumb". He may not have recognized Journey To Atlantis as a coaster. It's a water coaster, yes... But it's also a flume. I think I could forgive that mistake.
  6. I'm unclear to why the heart line rolls were removed... I read somewhere that they feared the train stalling if the LIMs failed, but to me it looks like the train would stall after the roll. Was it an issue with forces? Were the rolls uncomfortable?
  7. ^I guess it's a lot like CP with Millinium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. Like Behemoth and Levi, Milli and TTD are two skyscrapers built only 4 years apart by the same manufacturer at the same park... Although I do think Behemoth's and Leviathan's layouts have more similarities than Milli's and TTD's... I guess my point is that this is not unprecedented for Cedar Fair, and I guess it isn't as odd as I first thought.
  8. I never thought that Leviathan was going to be a bad coaster... I just thought (and still believe) that it is a strange choice for Canada's Wonderland to build another B&M. Behemoth was only built 4 years ago. Then again... I am now more motivated to get to Wonderland than I was before the Levi announcement. So I guess it makes sense to build a giga.
  9. yes is that what she said?
  10. ^That video was already posted on pg. 30 of this thread. edit; It's ok, I just clicked on your video and I recognized it was already posted. Just thought I'd let you know. I do agree, it's a great video! v
  11. ^I did that and the video file comes out ridiculously large (Like 2 Gbs!) How would you suggest shrinking it down to size. I'm on a Mac and I can't import it into iMovie. v Thanks AJ!
  12. Thanks for posting this! I should bookmark this and watch it every morning because this video made my day! edit: Which shot is the one with the flying cell phone? I seem to be missing it. edit: never mind, I found it. for everyone else it's at 2:34.
  13. Wishing for a positive outcome here, fingers crossed for a 2012 season... even though it doesn't seem likely. I just hope that the rides are left SBNO for too long. I know of a little park in NY that would LOVE Steel Hawg. And I'm sure that coaster could help a lot of other park's lineups as well. So sad to see, hoping for the best.
  14. ^Thanks. Actually May or June is perfect. I'll give myself a "yay I graduated community college and am moving onto my 4 year school" present.
  15. Will do! And what time of year do you recommend? I want to try to get most of the park in 1 day if I can.
  16. I'm getting more and more excited for this as construction hammers on! I'll have to make my first trip across the border to get on this and everything else CW has to offer. That spine diving into the ground is neat, I didn't notice that in any of the animations.
  17. ^^I would need a spinal re-adjustment after riding that. Ouch!
  18. Earlier this summer I was at Darien Lake with my GP friend. Normally when we visit the parks she acknowledges that I'm the coaster geek and leaves all the stats and facts up to me. However, when we were walking by predator she explained to me that Predator is the oldest coaster at Darien Lake. I politely said that Viper was built first but she was insistent that Predator was first "because it's made of wood!" I understand that this is an easy mistake for the GP to make, but I still had to roll my eyes and brush it off. She at least knew enough to avoid actually riding predator because of the roughness.
  19. ^I hope Revolution stays, at least until I make make a trip to North Cali and ride it once. Although I'm a little concerned with all I've heard about the dreaded OTSRs. Jammer looked to be a pretty solid flume. But I'm sure that they will put the space to good use. Maverick is a great example. I know that there are White Water Landing fans out there, but there comes a time when an old ride must step aside for the new. Anyway, looking forward to the 2012 announcement.
  20. I think this coaster will be deceivingly fun! Hopefully I'll get to ride it next time I'm in San Diego.
  21. If you are going for realistic, you'll have to make sure that the launch doesn't pull too many g's. Sitting in that position without support on the back of the shoulders, neck, and head would be very painful for riders if the launch is too forceful. I know you can't change the design of the trains, but I think the concept would be cool if you themed it to flying on the back of some majestic animal. Perhaps theme it to a banshee in avatar... that would be cool. Good luck!
  22. Track availiable at the TPR Game Exchange
  23. 8/20... lucky guesses. I was never one for names, or history... Even roller coaster history.
  24. Tag line under Ask Alvey now includes "rodent encounters."
  25. While I love dippin' dots, the servings were just too over priced a my home park, meaning I rarely ever bought some and opted for regular ice cream instead. It must be hard for DD because competitors ice cream is readily available at the parks.
