Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Just got back from CP. I can't believe how awesome Fast Lane is: skipping 1 and 1/2 hour waits, getting 7 rides on Maverick, MF, TTD, and multiple rides on everything else. Definitely worth the $50. Another thing that Fast Lane improves is the stations. Now all of them (except Dragster) severely limit the amount of riders in the station, making only a two to three train wait once you get up there. Now on to the rides. Mean Streak is actually bearable now if you don't put your back against the seat, but is still incredible boring with the trims. Magnum's "magic row" is still as awesome as ever. Disaster Transport is on its last legs, and now boasts a stuffed octopus in the final ice room. Everything else was running great, but MF, TTD, Magnum, and Gemini all broke down right after our rides finished. I guess we were just bad luck. -

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that pic looks like the regular park guests walking in. They let them come into a roped off section of the park (where they're standing) before the park actually opens, but they can't ride anything. However if that is early entry, it seems normal, though I have no idea why they would be standing there. -

Do you think it'd be possible for the lap bar to rotate, like you could push it forward (just the bar part) so it'd become even with your legs? -
Just got back. 2 books= 14 non-stop rides on X-flight (Could've gotten more if I didn't switch sides). If that's what you guys do on TPR trips, I'm signing up for one next year. Anyways, has anyone else noticed a rattle on X-flight, it was really bad during the final helix. Other than that only a few train wait for everything else except Superman and X-flight (both 30-40 min. each). All in all, awesome day.

For those who live in the area, how rough has Mean Streak become since opening day. I'm going on Wednesday and trying to decide whether I should ride it or just leave it alone? (I rode in 2010 and it was god awful. Has it improved since?) -

It's not Morey's, Morey's ferris wheel shares a pier with a boomerang. But that was probably the biggest tragedy in the movie lol. I'm still rooting for the sharks, but since it's a SYFY movie, the people are probably going to come out on top anyway. Still, that shootout was so ridiculous that it was awesome. I think they digitally edited the boomerang out because they didn't want this movie to look more terrible than it actually is, lol. The boomerang made a slight appearance in the title credits, but after that it went away.

If it truly is that design that I'm 100% satisfied. Maybe I'll have to take a TPR trip to Cedar Point next year. Question: Are those two zero-g rolls back to back, or a roll and then a overbank? -

Two things: 1) If I'm staying at a Cedar Point resort, but I've also bought Fast Lane tickets online, when I go in for early entry will I get the wristband right then, and will I be able to use it during the early entry period? 2) Obviously no one truly knows, but does anyone think Wind-seeker might be back a week from now? -

More than likely the first POV had water dummies on it, while this one was empty. This POV is much faster up until the stengel-dive. Kudos to Hershey for putting up another (better) POV. -

How did Sea World San Antonio make it into the top 25? When I went there was never anybody there. -

^They took out White-Water landing at the beginning of the season, that's why the site was started on early. Also if all is correct than this will be built in a parking lot, which is a pretty easy surface to build on. -

Most coasters don't start construction until late-fall, early winter (at least that's the norm). CP wouldn't remove DT or Space Spiral until a good portion of the season has gone by, I think they're safe until August. At least I'll be able to get my DT credit this summer. -

24/40. A few I knew, some were common sense (Pacific Coast Park), and all others were lucky guesses. -

I'm happy Orlando is finally getting a roller-coaster with airtime. 18 moments of it.
