  1. Rebel Yell's paint doesn't bother me nearly as much as Anaconda, Shockwave, or Drop Tower's paint job. IMO if they don't want to keep it nicely painted, they shoud just sand it and have it wood colored... I was disappointed in Kings Dominion with Anaconda's so called "paint job", all they did was paint the brake run and station to look good from the 305 plaza. I was also disappointed in Carolina Cyclone's paint job down at Carowinds. The 3 colored track and just overall look of the ride now is rediculous! Oh and how can I forget the name Mach Tower of BGW... I think I perfer Cedar Fair's "Drop Tower" than that!
  2. A few members of KDFansite got the chance to go to Kings Dominion to check out Intimidator 305's construction, markers for the new Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular, rides/cars in storage, and the whole Wave Swinger gone... http://www.kdfansite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1722 An update video is supposedly coming soon and will be uploaded to Kings Dominion's YouTube page, youtube.com/kingsdominiontv. Only 3 months and 18 days until the new version of Intimidator 305 opens!
  3. Heck, I think this park will survive a shorter amount of time than Hard Rock Park! RIP HRP... I actually really liked that park...
  4. Its official from the "In The Loop" podcast: NEW FOR 2011 - Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular! I believe several of us including myself predicted this one a couple months ago! I personally think KD/CF couldn't of picked a better location for the show! Central walkway (path from the Eiffel Tower to the Carousel) has nothing on it and is covered in trees and should look awesome all lit up in lights! Then on one end of the path will be the Carousel lit up like always and on the opposite end the Eiffel Tower will more than likely be lit up like the one at KI. I'm satisfied with this investment after getting a 25 million dollar giga and a kiddie section retheme.
  5. Robb I feel the same way about shows at parks! It kills me to sit through a show with friends/family knowing that there are coasters right outside of the theater, hahaha. The worst was at Kings Dominion during the Haunt, while we went and saw Fangs knowing that there was a giga across the park with a 30 second wait! The only park that I can sit through a show and be okay with it is at Dollywood after I hit up Thunderhead, Mystery Mine, Tornado, and Blazing Fury several times each!
  6. The T-rex looks EXACTLY like the ones at Ripley's Moving Theater in Myrtle Beach SC and Gatlinburg TN! Myrtle Beach SC Gatlinburg TN
  7. I was the one who drew the quick sketch of an overbank in the picture and posted it to KDFansite because they were discussing what an overbank would look like. Then some other forum member added the loop... Here is my version... 2011?
  8. ^The new restraints are AWESOME! Robb, I feel the same exact way about 305 pre-trims and post-trims, both versions were awesome. Pre-trims the ride had an awesome drop and great air on the second hill. Post-trims the ride had enjoyable "twistys" and great air on the third hill. Both versions had plenty of advantages and a few disadvantages. Pre-trims the "twistys" were almost too extreme and the trims on the third hill killed that air. Post-trims you can feel the trims (only if you are paying attention to the feeling instead of the kick-a$$ view) and the air on the second hill is only slightly floater air now (I only think the trims suck in the dark because you aren't focusing on the view since you can't see a thing!). KD is the closest park to me (3 1/2 hour drive) and I went to the park 6 times this year because of this coaster. I have always been a KD "fanboy" but only went to the park twice a year before Intimidator 305 was put in. I plan on going 4+ times next year as well due to the addition of 305. I consider myself to be extemely lucky that my favorite coaster is in my "home" park. Carowinds is only 15-20 minutes farther from my house, but I only went there once this year. Their Intimidator is fun, yet lacking the intensity and thrill that 305 has IMO. As far as this new situation goes, it really is too early to tell, and everything is speculation. All I know is I'll be there on Opening Day (April 2nd 2011) to check out what they did!
  9. You mean a light show like "Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular"?
  10. I do not think they would remove the whole front half of the second hill to put trim brackets on... That would be one long set of trims!!! In fact, it would actually be more than they have on the drop now! That would be IMO a worse feeling than trims on the drop. ""*Wishing KD says something and doesn't keep a dang secret"""
  11. WOW! Getting right into it I guess! Maybe no more trims?
  12. Agreed. 2nd place would have to go to Afterburn @ Carowinds. I am always simply amazed of how intense that ride is (back-row especially) for a B&M! 3rd place would have to go to Volcano @ KD... That launch, turn, second launch, and flip out of the mountain is still one of my favorite moments on any coaster I've ever been on! Honorable Mention would have to go to Dragster @ CP... Very nice launch! Now if XLC was still around it would definitely be up there... that launch was SO forceful!
  13. This is good news! That means there is still some hope that KD might get a little something for 2011. I really wish Cedar Fair would replace the very old and annoying Sponge-Bob 3-D movies in all of the former Paramount parks...
  14. Getting off of Griffon @ BGW... "I'm glad the ride only broke down for a couple of seconds before the drop!"...
  15. Friday night or Sunday visits are a MUST at KD's Halloween Haunt and BGW's Howl-O-Scream this year. It is really rediculous of how crowded both parks have been on Saturdays! I guess its a good thing for the parks though!
  16. I'm sure you will have a blast!!! Halloween Haunt this year is IMO the best its ever been! By my experiences, all 5 of the scare zones have been great! None of the mazes really suck this year IMO, 3 mazes are amazing, 3 mazes are good, 3 are "okay", but I haven't been disappointed yet. 3 amazing ones: 1) The Doll Factory 2) Medieval Macabre 3) Club Blood 3 good ones: 4) Toxic Plague 5) Slaughter House 6) Blue Ridge Bloodbath 3 "okay" ones 7) Camp Killauee 8) The Asylum 9) Alien Outpost Scarezone Rankings (like I said before, all of the scare zones are great this year so its difficult to rank them): 1) Central Stalkway (International Street) 2) The Ruins (The Congo) 3) Feary Tales (Planet Snoopy) 4) CarnEvil (The Grove) 5) The Harvest (Old Virginia) Oh, and be sure to get a night ride on 305 with some fog!
  17. 1) Halloween Haunt @ Kings Dominion 2) Howl-O-Scream @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg KD's Halloween Haunt IMO is MUCH better than BGW's Howl-O-Scream this year. By my experiences ALL 5 of KD's scare-zones were GREAT, 3 mazes were awesome, 3 mazes were good, and 3 mazes were average, but none were bad by any means. BGW needs to bring back "scare-zones" instead of doing "the scare is everywhere" because there were hardly any scares in the midways and all of the mazes were good but weren't very scary, just lots of nicely done details when it came to the decorations. jesters.bmp Jesters welcome guests at the famous "Kings Dominion" sign near the entrance.
  18. Well I figured I would give my opinion on the ride... Likes: 1) "TWISTIES!" 2) 3 Launches 3) Trenches 4) Color and theme 5) Airtime hill right after a launch 6) INTAMIN 7) Barrel Roll Dislikes (the only time you will hear me say this): 1) Hard Intamin Restraints 2) For the trillionth time today, the name... yuck! 3) After the airtime hill the ride seems very "blah" while going to the brakes, another airtime hill would have been nice Overall, this announcement reminds me a lot of August 20th 2009 when Intimidator 305 was announced. People complained about the name and restraints WAY TOO MUCH!!! I mean I honestly don't like the name Cheetah Hunt or the restraints the ride will have, but overall this ride should be awesome! Hopefully the ride will be like 305 and blow away most peoples expectations, the name will grow on people, and they possibly might change it to soft straps like 305 has! I really want to make a trip to BGT and SeaWorld Orlando to try out Manta and Cheetah Hunt in 2012!
  19. Without a doubt, DOLLYWOOD!
  20. Howl-O-Scream is always a bit creepy rather than scary. I love the details BGW puts into HOS decorations, but I wish they would put that much effort in the costumes that the scaractors wear, because most of them look "thrown together". The scaractors should also put a bit more effort into scaring people since the amount of scaractors seems to always be low.
  21. For me the best is definitely Intimidator 305, Mystery Mine, and Expedition Everest. Seeing the yeti when it was actually working was AWESOME! As far as the worst go, Intimidator @ Carowinds is really lacking an ending, which which is a disappointment because the first half is incredible, then after the MCBR its just flat out boring. Even with the terrible ending, it is still in my overall top-10 though.
  22. Thanks for the update! The park seems to be focusing on the minor details this year which is great, except for the trillion ravens, hahaha. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to Howl-O-Scream once and go after one of the many times I go to Halloween Haunt at KD.
  23. Nice Photo TR! I really like the pictures with Rebel Yell and 305 in the same shot! Also, the lighting in the final picture makes 305 look awesome!
  24. Awesome thread idea! It sure will help me keep track of all the new attractions in 2011! Also, don't forget about Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular coming to Carowinds in 2011! http://www.carowinds.com/public/news/whats_new_2011.cfm
