Intimidator305

I've ridden both Carowinds' Intimidator and Intimidator 305 many times (since both parks are EXACTLY 3 hours from my house). In my opinion, 305 is a far superior ride compared the Intimidator. Carowinds' version is fun and enjoyable, but not very thrilling at all. I can carry on a full conversation with the person sitting next to me the whole ride. 305 on the other hand is so intense that it is a challenge just to keep your arms up and keep the spit in your mouth it is so intense! I ride coasters for thrill and intensity, which is why IMO 305 is the MUCH better ride. And I know this race is pointless considering probably less than 2% of the voters have ridden both versions, but I'm just trying to help the coaster that deserves to win in my opinion, WIN!

^^ Well you can always hope they theme it to that when they lose the licensing to the "Intimidator" Dale Earnhardt name... Besides the obvious Orlando combination, I would definitely suggest Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens.

I'm glad you enjoyed the park so much including Intimidator 305... and I couldn't agree more with your quote "Honest review, the trims were noticeable, but by no means did they "ruin" the ride. There was still airtime and the train still hauled through the course, so its whatever, haters."

Yeah, last I checked 305 was ahead by more than 100 votes! Oh and I just got an e-mail from Kings Dominion called "Kings Dominion Announces More for 2011" and it says... So it looks like they are doing the same thing as Carowinds and doing Nights of Fire along with Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular!

Between the past two days I have voted a ton! I have also had several of my friends vote for 305. I sure hope it wins Intimidator down at Carowinds is great, but Intimidator 305 is FANTASTIC and in my opinion, way better!

Cedar Fair doesn't care... Cedar Point and Kings Island are both getting one the same season!

I really do not think that Cedar Fair would ever do that. That would cost a good amount of money to fill up that whole area with trees. What they need to do though is just put "something" in the huge asphalt area in front of Sky Flyer and El Dorado. I know the Black Squid (Spider) ride from Geauga Lake was supposed to go there in 2009 (when KD got El Dorado and Americana) but it wasn't in good enough condition to be re-assembled at Kings Dominion. Even if its just some planters with flowers, another stupid game stand, or even a "Coca-Cola Oasis" like the one next to Anaconda's entrance, something needs to be placed there.

With the Cedar Fair obsession with Windseekers, could KD see one in 2012 if the ones at KBF, KI, CP, and Wonderland recieve positive feedback?

Well pre-305 and pre-Maverick I would have thought this coaster wouldn't even be worth the trip to the park, but since I rode them with all the kick-@$$ twisties I really want to get down there and try this out and so I can compare it to BGW's coaster next year! In my opinion, BGT won the last battle, because Sheikra is better than Griffon.

With Big Bad Wolf being taken out, possibly. After Grover's Alpine Express the next coaster in the park on the "thrill scale" is Loch Ness Monster which in my opinion is a pretty major jump! I would have to guess that it will be more "forceful" than BBW just because it is a launched coaster and it would more than likely be disappointing to the teen/young adult to see the coaster they grew up with replaced by a more "mild" ride. Just speculating of course...

That was a very interesting article indeed! Sounds like BGW is finally getting my type of ride (fast with twists and hills, and possibly intense)... and I hate to already say this, but it sounds MUCH BETTER than BBW already! HAH.

This is the best thread TPR has ever had! I couldn't agree more... It really bugs me how overrated BBW was and how people overreacted about the coaster's removal...

1) INTIMIDATOR 305... un-trimmed and trimmed, kicks butt either way, my #1 by far. 2) Getting 10 new credits. 3) Intimidator down at Carowinds. Best hyper I've been on but after the MCBR, its very weak. Probably my #11. 4) Adventure Mountain at Dollywood. I would have never guessed I would actually of enjoyed it... but I loved it! 5) Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion! It blew me away this year! Much better than BGW's Howl-O-Scream.....

Intimidator 305 provided me with some interesting experiences this year... ~Not really a breakdown, but while boarding 305, the ride attendants made the riders switch seats with the person next to them not once, but twice AFTER the riders were all strapped in and "checked"... ~On a late no wait night during KD's Halloween Haunt at around 11:45 while on 305, the first 2 cars made it up the lifthill and we stopped with 7/8 of the train still stuck in the station with passengers waiting to get off on the brakerun. 5 minutes later maitenance was there fixing the ride, which took about 5 minutes and then we went up the lifthill at a speed of 1 mph MAX until the whole train got out then it went back up to the regular insane quick speed. It was just weird going up that hill slow leaving the station when usually it hauls out of there! Wild Mouse at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion broke down while I was on it (at the very top "brake" section) and we were up there 30 minutes or so before the ride started back up. This was about 8 years ago and it was actually my brother's first ride on a roller coaster ever, and it broke down! Haha. It provided awesome views of the park, ocean, and Myrtle Beach and I got some very unique pictures to remember the park from since it sadly no longer exists...
