The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
SoCalCoasters replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I wonder if it will reuse any of the old Bermuda Triangle ride space? Or has it been removed and replaced with something else already? -
Play with headphones in a dark room. Nothing else will ever be able scare you again.

[RCT3] Coupon's Nameless Park

I assume you turned off collision detection? Looks nice so far. Only thing that looks off is the safari train station. I'm sure you could improve it. -
Figured I would bring this thread back from the dead with a rather disappointing review from Nintendo Power regarding the game: Link to the article... The game has been delayed again... At this point it sounds like late August is now the slated release date, but I am not holding my breath... EDIT: Well, good thing I didn't hold my breath as GameStop now lists the release date as 12/31/12.... http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/games/rollercoaster-tycoon/98963

Why did you make the logo out of supports? I'd use Sketchup to create scenery, as it will look much better. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
SoCalCoasters replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^No...just don't go there. I doubt KI will replace this with something wooden. That is, if they even decide to replace it at all. Yeah, there's land back there, and it's going to be empty in a few months, but that doesn't mean they will immediately replace it with something. I'd suspect they would be much more inclined to purchase a large B&M or Intamin than a wooden coaster. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

^Finally! That is all that needs to be said on the subject. EDIT: Here's the biggest GP fail comment so far: -
It looks like a interesting coaster so far, but if you're going to spend the time custom supporting the whole thing, you may want to throw in a few more interesting elements while you're at it. By that, I mean maybe adding a few flatrides are it or incorporating some kind of structure the ride flies through or some other ride-guest interaction to make the coaster more unique.

[RCT 3] Port Costa
SoCalCoasters replied to ECZenith's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It's a good start! If you want to get more into custom scenery I'd recommend you Download Neton1 and Neton2 which contain numerous sets. If you want to stick with what you have now, I'd suggest you try making your buildings more dynamic. By dynamic, I mean make them more than just boxes. Expand and experiment with your buildings and make them complement your rides. Good luck with the park. Oh also: Before you take screenshots! Do this: 1. Rename a peep in the park David Walsh. 2. Press Crtl+U This will make the side menus disappear and make your screenshots look much more professional. -

I was browsing through a few of my RCT2 parks today when I saw this. I have no idea how I found it but it was too funny not to post. SCR110.BMP -

^In what way? It looks like a very good Schwarzkopf layout to me. With the limits of RCT2, I think the steep unbanked curves are inevitable, and shouldn't be considered "wrong". -
^ My English Class was actually worth something this past year, as we studied a large number of great philosphers. While I don't usually engage in religious debates, I usually use William James to prove my point. sure, I'm a Catholic, but I do have my reasons for keeping this faith. Anyway, here's the guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_James If you still consider atheism to be a "belief" or "something you believe in" you can utilize this man's studies. Basically what he says is that in order for people to stay grounded in reality and to basically stay sane, they need a belief of some kind. Doesn't matter what belief it is, just that there should be one. When you look at it that way, technically any belief can be true to you as an individual since it keeps you stable. I don't think he'll have much of a comeback for that one.

Exactly. This is what people need to take away from incidents like these. Yes, they are sad when they occur, but the trainers do know the risks when working with these animals. Videos like these with very little context or dialogue to alert viewers of what is happening in the situation only leave it up the the public's ridiculous way of twisting things 100000000x out of proportion. Heck, I don't think the people who are freaking out about this realize that the trainers haven't actually been in the water with the whales since the trainer's death.

If lack of downtime = level of safety...then the original X must have been the least safe coaster ever in operation! Yeah...no. Downtime does not reflect safety. There's these things called computers. They run these rides. They are very complicated. Often times these computers make an error and have to be reset. Sometimes these errors persist and they must try to reprogram the ride. It does not mean the ride is unsafe. Really...where did you get your facts from?

HOW did we miss this? Holy moley, that looks amazing. Now all we need is a POV. -
^I think the issue for many people with TDKR is because it's such a departure from TDK. Nolan created each of these movies in the trilogy with their own unique feel and style, while still keeping them grounded and relatable to one another. The depressive darkness and random destruction of the Joker is replaced by unending chaos and a methodical and brutal Bane. It has a very different feel from Dark Knight, and if you went in expecting it to have the same feel, I'm not surprised you were let down. People will continuously compare Bane to the Joker, but I really think they're both amazing villains. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was absolutely stunning and unmatched. Bane, as a villain had an extremely tough act to follow, and with what they had I think they did a fantastic job. Both of them have some incredibly powerful quotes, and I think Bane's Stock Market comment is possibly one of the best movie lines ever written. Sure it's simple, but it's incredibly powerful at the same time.
