  1. Rides sink into the sand at Cedar Point, freeing up more room for new attractions. Yep, so in a few years, once Flight Deck at GCA finally sinks, they'll have even more room for new attractions. Getting this train back on track, Gatekeeper looks amazing... But why didn't they theme it to Gandalf the White?
  2. What makes you think that? The place where the drop tower rumor came from is a fan forum that was speculating on what the park might add next. It was most likely a fanboy pipedream more than an actual rumor.
  3. I believe the holes in the wood probably have something to the with how the track will flex/bend and not break with the trains moving through them at high speeds...I'm no engineer but I would imagine it being something like that...
  4. I also Tweeted Atari about the game, and they gave me the "no date yet" response...
  5. Universal Studios on Friday! Can't wait to visit, as the last time I did was a few months into Transformers construction.
  6. That's a really awesome float design! I wonder what happened to it after the parade? Shame to think that it was probably just torn down...
  7. Slender + 20 dollars off mode = hilarity.
  8. ^Kill them! Kill them! Kill thm with fire!!! Those old Arrow trains made my single ride on Boomerang a big mistake.
  9. I didn't give Slenderman his 20 dollars.
  10. Well, define major... While they aren't huge, Sierra Sidewinder and Pony Express are both coasters added since 04. I think I would consider a coaster to be a major addition. That would make it 3-4 years since they invested in a new coaster. Knott's still has a lot of charm left, especially in Ghost Town. Sure, some of it is gone now, but there's still plenty left to enjoy. I remember looking at pictures of the park before Silver Bullet went in... It really did have a rather jarring impact one the whole feel of everything. I also agree that a Wild West shooting darkride could be loads of fun.
  11. I like how it looks so far. I'm interested in seeing the overall layout and howeverything fits together...
  12. To me it sounded like adding a darkride to that building is very unlikely unless they basically raze the whole thing. Maybe Knott's could call up Rolly Crump to do a new version of Knott's Berry Tales. I would like to see the park get a new attraction of some kind next year. While I am still hesitant to trust all these supposed Giga Rumors, it would be a pretty big deal if the park got one. I personally am unsure whether I would like to see one in the park after what happened with SilverBullet...I don't want to see another area of the park get majorly altered and loose it's charm just for the latest and greatest. It all depends on what the park and their manager are looking for/what the demographic is that they are focusing on attracting.
  13. I am in love with that DarKastle shot!
  14. ORLY? I think you should call up Grona Lund and tell them they can't expand anymore! Nah, I'm just kidding with you. Parks will always have room to expand, and this is the perfect example.
  15. How bad will the crowds be next weekend on average? I'm going to be taking a friend to the park for the first time, and she and I want to hit as many rides as possible. I was looking at the Gold Flash Pass, but is that even necessary? I haven't been to the park in August in seven years.
  16. ^David Walsh is much more effective. I really like what I've seen so far!
  17. Great Trip report from the Dells! Avalanche is one of the my favorite wooden coasters to look at in TRs just because of the way it wraps in and out of everything. And Mt. Olympus continually piques my interest.
  18. Manta has far more airtime than anything at Magic Mountain. Doesn't make it a bad park. I still don't understand why people obsess over the fact that the park doesn't meet their "airtime quota". So what? I'll take a pitch black night ride on Goldrusher over a day ride on Goliath. Just because a ride lacks airtime doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. I don't get how people keep saying ride ABC or ride 123 isn't that great because there isn't airtime, or that the park isn't good because their coasters are inversion focused.
  19. On Wednesday it was announced on SWSD's Facebook Page that Cirque De La Mer is closing: I personally am sad to see the show go, as it was the first Cirque Show I ever saw, and still one of my favorites. Anyone going to see it one last time before it goes away?
  20. ^LOL nothing huge? Maverick cost Cedar Point more than 20 million, and the average B&M is in the neighborhood of 15 million.
  21. ^I'm surprised SF doesn't do the grouping like they do for Medusa on Busy days; Have someone grouping, but if a guest wishes to wait for the front, let them wait for it. It seems ridiculous that a grouper would force you into a seat that you've clearly expressed your desire to avoid. However, the PR clash was completely un-needed. Throwing Disney in their face? Demanding a refund after he's used the pass twice? That's just insulting, especially to the manager. Now Six Flags might not be perfect, and they may get a bad rap for the penny-pinching habits left over the from the Premier Parks, but never is their a reason to bash an entire park or an entire company over something so dang trivial as a seat preference. If the guy REALLY didn't want that back seat, he could have let two people pass him. I'm sure someone in line would have loved up to take his place and ride the coaster in the back.
  22. ^Well, that's a promising step in the right direction. I was extremely sad when i heard the lease was going to be terminated for the original park, and was really sad to see almost nothing of the original "terrain slides" could be saved. Bombay Blasters, Watube (or whatever the racing tube slide was called), the rapids, surf hill, cobra, etc were all such unique and original slides not seen much at other water parks. As much as people may have disliked it, we really lost something special...
  23. ^I love the framing on the ROS shot!
  24. Maybe it'll have a barrel roll too . In, all seriousness this looks promising.
