  1. ^ I think that's just the marketing people assuring the GP that this ride will be the opposite of what they rode before.
  2. If you listen to enthusiasts then every coaster ever built is rough. This might be the case but ride it for yourself and see... believe it or not some people think that Batman forwards is rough and that's just flat out stupid. I so agree with this. It's like an epidemic with enthusiasts. Suddenly every coaster that isn't a magic carpet ride is rough. Now Batman is rough, Maverick is rough, every wooden coaster not named El Toro is rough. Rough, rough, rough. Are we even enjoying the hobby anymore?
  3. On Twisted Colossus : "It needs more corkscrews and loops. This looks extremely boring". Just read this on Facebook. And people still wonder why SFMM has so many inversions. lol
  4. Going on Thursday. Suppose to be mid 70s all week!
  5. Knotts Berry Farm Six Flags Magic Mountain California Great America Six Flags Fiesta Texas Kentucky Kingdom Holiday World Cedar Point Orlando
  6. Many coasters that people find intolerantly rough, I just find painfully boring. This is one of them. I live in Vegas, and I have been dragged on this thing more times than I care to admit. It's rough, but I've never found it painful. What I do find it is dull. Average drops, boring vertical loop and then the worst mid course this side of Flight Of Fear. It grabs so hard that it barely makes the second half, and those end bunny hops do absolutely nothing. People talk about the roughness, but to me it's just a nothing ride.
  7. Unfortunately this probably won't happen until the chain smartens up and starts charging $100+ for a season pass. Well first they'd have to make their parks worth that much. Right now, because of the inconsistencies, it just isn't.
  8. Now Batman is a ride I never skip. It's still one of my all time favorite rides. Just not backwards. I personally just do not like going backwards on coasters that were not designed to do so. To me it's just always kind of dumb. Superman is obviously the one exception.
  9. I actually think these Ring Of Fire rides are pretty awesome flats and see nothing wrong with any park adding one of these. And yes I know SF is calling them coasters, which I couldn't care less about.
  10. ^ We're about the same age. I feel as I get older my tolerance for rough rides lessens. Viper is one that I personally know so well that I can still enjoy it. There are some others that I can't anymore ( SLCs are an automatic skip now), so I guess it's a personal thing.
  11. LOL... I don't ride Viper looking for a smooth ride, that's insane. You ride it because you're in the mood for something rough and tumble. I enjoy Viper 9 out of 10 times... But I know what I'm in for. Same with X2.
  12. Sounds to me like Riddler is just due for it's yearly maintenance and really nothing more. I hope it's a good one because it'd rattling pretty badly imo.
  13. For me, B&M's best coaster type right now remains their dive coaster. And if a park ever decides to take one to 300ft, they've got a shot at the top spot imo. I'm just waiting on Knotts to pull the trigger!
  14. I think that's what Peoplemovermatt meant to begin with. There should be a recovery system in place for days where several major rides are going to be closed. So that guests don't leave feeling ripped off. Obviously high winded closures can't be helped, so the park should be prepared for it.
  15. ^ Maverick is my #1 as well, just ahead of Skyrush. The thought of SFMM having a top 10 or even top 15 coaster sounds unbelievable.
  16. I can't wait until the discussion switches back to that awesome new ride opening next year...
  17. Depends on the teens. I certainly don't judge books by their covers. One of the most fun times I've ever had at a park was with a group of young people. Older folks can sometimes be a little jaded and nitpicky. That's not always fun to be around.
  18. I have to say, overall things have gotten better. Rarely do I show up at the park and find multiple attractions down. I no longer fear for my life at the park, and the employees are serviceable, if not totally into their jobs. The park still just needs so much, I won't disagree, and the Full Throttle set up always reminds me how not classy this park is. But overall, they seem to slowly be heading in the right direction? Can I even say that with a straight face? I guess I just did.
  19. I do think the park is making an effort to fix up the park, one section at a time. There is a lot of work still to be done, but this park has been in such disaray for so long, it will take years to fix.
  20. In fairness, SFMM has in the last several years, painted the entire Superman Tower, Batman, Goliath, X2, Ninja and now Scream. So it's not like they never paint their coasters.
  21. Has Xcelerator finished being painted yet? Because it's right up there with Scream and Tatsu.
