  1. I certainly wouldn't mind B&M non inverting coasters becoming a trend. Not only are they near the top of my list in terms of coaster type, but I still can't believe the west coast doesn't have one yet.
  2. You mean you don't know me well enough to tell when I'm "fake" upset. LOL. Maybe we should fix that...
  3. I stopped reading your comment when you said airtime aside. Ugh...
  4. ^ Wicked Collosus? And that video doesn't come close to showing the awesomeness of "Twisted Colossus ".
  5. Looks like a nice mix of floater and ejector airtime on this ride. Couldn't be happier that they didn't go nuts on inversions on this ride.
  6. Just to put all of this to rest (who am I kidding). It was Robb who posted a direct quote from director of operations, who stated that Twisted Colossus would have four trains and would always run three. I assume that to mean that the fourth train would help with the swapping out of trains come time for maintenance. How consistent they'll be over the long haul is the only question.
  7. Eh, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. We will at least get to experience this ride full capacity this summer. And i agree, 4 trains will never happen, and wouldn't help much anyway.
  8. ^ For me, I stop drinking coffee several days before I ride coasters. The caffeine dehydrates me badly making my stomach act up on most rides. Also plenty of sleep.
  9. I too love Viper, and IMO the way they maintain the ride, it will be around for at least another decade. Back seat over that first drop is one of my favorite drops on any coaster. It really whips you over the top, then spins you tight left. You just don't see rides have a first drop like Viper anymore. And while it's not as smooth as B&M's (which is how I prefer it, actually) it really is a very good ride considering all the unique elements it has, especially for how old it is. Why would you rather ride something that isn't as smooth as other available rides? That doesn't really make any sense, unless you are a chiropractor and want more buisness. I can't speak for anyone else, but I like a variety of forces and experiences when I visit a park. If all you seek out are smooth coasters, you're going to miss some serious gems.
  10. Just a quick note. I rode Apocalypse two weeks ago, and after its rehab, found it to be in much better shape.
  11. ^ it's kinda hard to tell from that photo, but I'll take your word for it. Edit: Okay I see the change now.
  12. I agree that it's odd, but I think the change is positive in terms of intensity and experience. I just want to see more of it come together. It should be completed pretty soon! Did it really change? The stall was finished today, and to me it looks like it was always suppose to.
  13. Absolutely awesome report. Thank you! SFFT is overall my favorite SF park, and I can't wait to get back there to ride Batman plus more rides on Rattler.
  14. I LOVE all the wood that is surrounding the entire element.
  15. Titan and Goliath are fun rides, but horrible excuses for hypercoasters. The fact that Titan is slightly better isn't saying much at all. I'd take the absolute weakest B&M hyper over either of them.
  16. I can say that I much prefer this incarnation of SFMM over any since the late 90's. No lorger am I showing up and finding 5 coasters closed for no reason, and I don't fear for my safety any longer. I hope they continue to remodel old areas of the park, and add some diversity of attractions. Employees are still hit and miss, but better than before, and they'really no longer anti airtime!
  17. Kings Island is the perfect example of a park that change it's image over the years.
  18. I completely agree. As much as everybody wants to see the park take a few years off of coasters and do general improvements and add flat rides, it's just not in the cards. The park makes their money by building thrill rides, and that's not going to change anytime soon. I think if SFMM is going to have a down year, I would expect something like a Sky Screamer to be added. But a Sky Screamer is a flat, and new flats don't exist at SFMM. Perhaps a small kiddie coaster instead?
  19. I would love it if SFMM took 4-5 years off from coaster building to focus on other things. I'm just not sure how that would go for them in a situation they themselves created of expectation of a new coaster every other year.
  20. ^Because they couldn't do that even if they wanted to. That's not the park's decision to make. I'd love to see what Chance/Morgan could do with 15 million and Viper.
  21. ^ Hence the sort of half layout and cost cutting landscaping for Throttle. And why I think the park should take the Twisted Colossus revamp approach again for their next coaster project.
  22. ^^ Yeah, SFMM could have put in a Larson Loop and called it a day. Personally, I think the trend of re-packaging old rides into new, more marketable ones will continue (X2, Superman, TC) before we see number 20. It's a concept the park actually excels at.
