Bay Beach Amusement Park Discussion Thread
chadster replied to uwgbdork's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Pippin is certainly a fantastic old school ride and being able to help raise money for charity just for riding it is a big plus. Overall I enjoyed the park and wished I had more time to spend there. I think overall the Pippin added that little something it was missing to keep people there, not to mention the park is very affordable for families. -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!

I would say your very very hot in your guess Until this past summer I had never been on a Gravatron and now I'm kinda hooked on them. I'm finding the carnivals have the better ones although we did experience one on the Jersey Shore that felt like it was trying to shut off my wind pipe, very forceful. I agree, a backwards kiddie coaster was awesome! Who knows, maybe I'll show up again this year It's amazing! The fact that it has cell equipment hanging off it makes it even better! -

It wasn't cheap, like 8 for one ride, then re-rides were a little cheaper. -

The new Cosmic Coaster will greet guests as they enter Planet Snoopy, fresh paint and pathways give the park a fresh look, renovated restrooms offer more comfort that before! Plus, this fall, Halloween Haunt is ready to 'take you to school' with more gore than ever before! I did those bumper cars, twice in fact! And I did bump someone's ass off, to the point I was told to quit hitting a lady by the operators! -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!
chadster replied to chadster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thanks to PAL for pushing me up to the next trigger for a special edition of Chadster's Vacation Adventures, I bring to you exclusively a very dirty, whorish PTR featuring not 1, not 2, but 3 kiddie coasters, PLUS a bonus coaster known as the only air time coaster in California! Think you know what it is? My first journey takes me to Las Vegas, where thanks to info from Shawn C. and Caesar D., I happened upon a GHETTO CARNIVAL! Whoohoo! Welcome to the Ghetto Carnival! For those not familar with Las Vegas, this Carnival really is/was in the Ghetto located off of 95 @ Rancho Drive. Ghetto wristbands self-destruct after a period of time. At least this one is not duct taped together Fly me to the moon talk about old school, looks like something built out in the back yard Carnival staple. I'm sure all of these games are legal and played with the strictest of standards and tolerances. But wait, what do we have here? A Bird? A Plane? why it's not Captain America, but it's The Roller Coaster Ride! Oddly enough, it's the smoothest coaster in Vegas! and lightening fast! and operated by a professional. Credit 440 in the books! But since I over bought on tickets, might as well try out a carny Yo-Yo It hauled so fast I couldn't take a steady picture! One of the better ones I've been on for sure. So now it was time to fly all the way to San Diego and make the short drive to Boomers! in El Cajun. For a Friday night the place was dead, so maybe it was a good thing I got this one now But on this trip, I wasn't the only one who was getting a new credit.... Noted! It's a Santa Claw knock off! Why ChrisRad is overly enthusiastic about this credit whoring business In fact, once he saw this control panel, well, lets just say he started twitching spontaneously Yeah baby This is Chris' first powered coaster as indicated by the number of fingers he is holding up. Um, this thing goes backwards?!?! weeeeee So as we left the Kounty Fare behind... We ended up here where they have some to-die-for fish tacos. Highly Highly recommend. And finally I head up to Scandia from San Diego and hit up their kiddie coaster...Nice park actually, not many rides per say, but the golf course looks really cool, the clientele though is somewhat suspect... Hi Caesar! Not sure what happened of the picture he took of me on this beauty. So we left the station and stopped here. Yes, stopped. After the train stopped, here. They turned the motor on. And we did this thing, went back to the station, stopped, then went back to the lift, stopped, and did it all over again, twice more. But wait, there's more! Chris wanted to go this time! 2 thumbs up means this is his second whore credit of the weekend! But enough of the small credits. Let go to a big boy coaster! OMFG FRONT SEAT AIRTIME! You 100% NEED the seatbelt in the front seat. Only teenagers can take it in the rear, and those who act like teenagers, so we took it in the rear. Still some air, but not near as much as the front. Words to live by. And with that, the whoredom ends. Next Week: Pacific Park - where we answer the question, Does Bubba Gump's use fresh fish? Tune in to find out! -

It will be another three weekends before my next visit, but from my last visit they seem to be continuing a quick pace. Could it be possible they are shooting for a soft opening this winter season? I don't see that as likely, but possible. -

Like most front of line passes offered, only about half of the rides are on it are of interest to me. That being said, it would be a worthy investment for Maverick/Top Thrill/Raptor/MF alone and it's nice to Cedar Point get with the times. -
