I love Silverwood! Fantastic park that has some great wood! I especially liked the early on media, so old school, but so awesome. And thanks for making me feel old... I graduated in 1996.... -

^Has the town pissed you off or are you just generally negative towards the town? With just under 8 million visitors last year Branson is far from a ghost town. Palace is in process of trying to be revived and hope that it is as it's a nice iconic property. Branson is no different than the Wisconsin Dells or Pigeon Forge, they all make the vast majority of their $$ between Memorial Day and Labor Day. July and November are reportedly Branson's busiest months. Even though visitation fell slightly last year, it was also hot as hell for weeks on end in July/August with record highs. SDC might be able to stand on it's own if all other entertainment dried up but highly doubt it would have the same attendance numbers. Who would want to stay there past 6pm if their sole purpose was to visit SDC and there was nothing else in town to do? Not me, I'd be one day in and out, if that. But if SDC wasn't around anymore people would still have a purpose to go and stay as shows are offered from late morning to evening. Tourist trap stuff is open until 11 or later. Add a nice Cirque Du Soleil show and not the generic Cirque show they have and people will come, they will re-invent themselves as needed, just like other tourist destinations. It's not all doom like you are making it out to be and not every town needs a Casino to survive. www.cityofbranson.org/ecodev/index.htm -

Might I add that "Fireball's" or "Rings of Fire" are NOT roller coasters, they are flat rides. I have seen people count them as coasters. Thank you. -

^Nope, and you apparently won't see the water turned on on similar rides at CF parks anymore from what I understand. The water was the cause for the extensive downtime. HUSS signed off on operating the rides as water attractions, but in the end the water caused some major issues. And of course the original HUSS went belly up so no real way to get any satisfaction out of them but to pay the new piper to get the ride back up and running. -

The show scene pretty much started with SDC and one show drying up isn't going to hurt them in the least and that theatre isn't going to stay dark. I'd give it 6-9 months and they will announce a new headliner. When Andy Williams bites the bullet they may take a hit, but with all of the tourist trap stuff to do, I.E. Titanic, Go-Carts, etc etc, even that won't be much of an impact outside of maybe Christmas time visitors. No need to worry about it drying up, just need to worry about being able to get a reasonably priced room this summer with all of the inventory lost courtesy of Mr. Tornado. -

More photos!!! So here's the deal. Most of us know Mr. freeze was already a great ride. Backwards, holly hell is it insane. Gradual 70mph launch into the top hat is incredible, you don't get slung forward or pull excessive g's in the launch. Once you realize you are in the spike and the lims bost you to the top you look down and Omfg. The ride back in is just as insane. A great improvement to the ride by far. Fog is turned on in the tunnel for the shoot only I suspect. The fog was playing.g havoc on the position sensors and I doubt they want that to occur off and on all day. They'be also spruced up the entrance and are giving it fresh paint. This is a must ride this year! More inclhding POVs next week Train!

^Those rides are notorious for blowing motors and other parts, nice concept and when run well can be fun, but also very hard on the hardware. -

^Bearing issue on the arms, then the new bearings were recalled AFTER they re-installed the gondola, so another huge expense in crane rental and disassembly/reassembly. Then add insult to injury with other components that started to act up and yeah, it was a hell for them. -
