This park just keeps giving me reasons to not to ever want to go back. I honestly don't care for GL, it just doesn't do anything for me except smash my jewels, and that is something I don't care for either. Perhaps if it did something, like say spin, it would be more exciting. Hoping on day I can ride a real one.

^I was pleasantly surprised that he sounded as good as did, age hasn't affected his ability to put on a show, that's for sure. Apparently he has a movie coming out later this month too. I also found him quite personable and genuinely happy to be back in his home state. Its called "The Vanilla Ice Project" and airs on DIY. Apparently they have filmed or are filming season three. Of note, Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast is still on flash pass, all level,s and your gonna want it! Also of note, Batman was closed to the GP until after the concert was over at 1pm. About 15 minutes after the ride opened it's line had completely filled all switchbacks and stretched to just inside the queue entrance. Wait time: about 90+ minutes. Thanks for all the kudos guys! Seriously, everyone needs to add this to their bucket lists!

Yesterday was the grand opening of Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast and TPR was there to cover all the action for you! I realize that most people might be thinking, eh, they just turned the trains around. But guess what? It made a HUGE difference in the ride. Not only is it a different experience visually, but also in how the forces are presented. I've found that it's no longer a strain to keep your arms up the entire ride despite feeling like your are pulling more G's in the top hat. Pro Tip: For an incredible feeling, try the third row from the back! (The real back of the train) When the train curves around to the spike and the LIM's push the train upwards, that's when you really notice the effects of the train being turned around. Now you are looking straight down as the train plummets towards the ground giving you a sense that you are going to crash into the ground before a sharp turn to the right then up into the top hat before screaming back down towards the tunnel with a now frosty mist hitting you in your face. For those of your wondering about the restraints and what the 70mph launch would feel like, well good news! While you do push forward into the restraint it's no different than before when the ride would hit the brake run. Incredibly smooth launch. Outside of the turning the trains around the ride station has also seen some refurbishment. The outside has received some paint and detail finishes while the inside has seen some additional artwork. The park has also added some additional special effects lighting in the form of snow flakes to the ride platform. Mr. Freeze is still there looking over the station, but wasn't moving on this day. This small change made a dramatic difference in the ride and I would encourage everyone to go out and ride Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast and see for yourself! Special shout out to Joey(Joco07) for helping me out at the event! Check out the ride POV! Here we are at Media Day where they will re-introduce Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. A little soggy to start but the day ended with a happy ending. Special Blue Carpet VIP entrance, which also dubs as the season pass processing office. The park went all out for the event with everything from blue donuts to this cool ice sculpture. New Ride Sign! And hot chicks to melt the ice! An artist was busy creating a chalk drawing of the ride's logo. And here is what it looked like finished. Park President Steve Martindale is about to open the ride with special guest Vanilla Ice! Instead of a ribbon, they used chainsaws to cut the ice block! And the ride is officially open! Yay! "I'm not so sure about this" Note: Vanilla Ice can wear his hat on the ride and video with his iPhone, he was given permission to do so, you however, should not attempt to do so. And they zoomed back in. "That was freaking amazing, I want to ride again!" How about a side view of the train you say? Ok, your wish is my command. Outside they were serving slurpees! And Mr. Freeze Popcorn! What the? Someone brought a cassette to the concert?!?!? What are those?!?!!?! Stop. Collaborate and listen... The hot chicks are back! The outside was spruced up! The paint shop spent a lot of time with the air brush out here. Now it was time for Jeremy (Some of you might remember him from NTAG Bash at Shockwave) to let the public in, and they came by the thousands. Off we go, in Reverse! This is about the point in the ride (outside of the ultra smooth launch) that you realize, hey, the ride has changes, and it's freaking insane! Yuuup! I don't want to see it changed back to original. Ever. Yayyyyyy! Top hat, third row from the rear...incredible feeling! I mean, I liked it in the rear before, but now, by seat of choice is car 4, row 2 And we are blasting "Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast is #1" And after only being open for 10 minutes, the public thinks so too! Thanks SFOT for inviting TPR to media day, we had a Blast, quite literally! So get out there before the ride closes for the season end of October and get blasted, in Reverse!

Comprehensive Coaster Credit Conversation
chadster replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I realize I've made a few jokes in this thread on counts, but in all reality I count it if it's a coaster and listed on RCDB or part of a traveling roadshow, I will list it if it's been relocated and I've ridden in both locations, and yes, I count powered, sorry, but I do. Besides, as an enthusiast whats funnier than a grown man trying to fit in a powered kiddie coaster? At the end of the day I count them for fun but also to keep track of those I have not ridden so that I can plan new places to visit. So counting isn't so much of a hey, I've ridden 10,000,000,000,000,000 coasters but more of a way to find new travel adventures via roller coasters. -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!

Today's adventure brings me to All Star Adventures in Wichita, KS. So what is in Wichita you ask? As the states largest city(is that even saying much) they are dubbed the Air Capital of the World with companies such as Learjet, Spirit, and Boeing leading the air industry there. Outside of that the city is made up mostly of museums, theater's and the world's second largest IMAX. The town was also home to Joyland which closed in 2007. More on that in a separate thread later this week. That leaves All Star as the town's only form of amusement entertainment and I must say I was surprised, but not overly so. The mini golf course was amazing and they had an ok collected of amusements, arcade games, and some of the slowest go-karts around. Trust me, they looked faster that what they were. And Congratulations to PAL for winning 2 Castle Park tickets from last week! Anyway, enjoy your look at this two credit, credit whore park! Aiight, here we go, lets get it over with. $3 a ride, $7 for go-carts, or wristband for like $26ish I'm tee'd off. Seriously, the golf course rivals Castle Parks in some respects. Blah blah blah blah noted. So let's start out at the not so go go carts. Vroom, or maybe just vro legal legal blah blah, don't die, blah blah, don't be stupid, blah blah blah noted. yeah, well, these go carts had no vroom, #wouldnotpaytorideagain The more small parks I visit, the more of these I find. Very happy for that um, no. #notarealhimalaya The towels are used to clean up after the horses. No sh!t. Spidey Pig Spidey Pig does whatever Spidey pig does Pull the shoot, pull the shoot! Decent tilt was fill of spin. See, full of spin. With every season, turn, turn, turn, there is a reason, I come, to, this, park. And here is that reason! For those that like tail. weeee, we we we weeeeeeeee This ariel foto brought to you for by me. all coasters should have lift hills like this. batter batter batter...oh.wait. ah hell, who cares, they have this too. Whoo hoo! That's a mean looking tiger! And a giant slide! So yeah, that's the park, sadly they have even more than my town of almost 1 million people! Some famous theatre downtown This is old town, pretty kickin place, just not on Sundays I give the River City Brewey 3.5 of 5 stars, good hand crafted in house beer, food selection and food was also good. So there you have it, hope you enjoyed this weeks adventure! Next week, San Diego Zoo! -

Shane your park looks amazing, and I really like the website. It loads fast, has tons of interactiveness, informative, and the videos are a very nice touch, especially like the one for Giant Splash, the music makes it pop. The love bug at the bottom that drives you to the next page, full of win! Crap, now I have to figure out how to get out there this summer (and I don't mean as in how to get there, I mean $$ wise) -

I don't recall seeing any, but did a quick location search, showing 4 others in KC, 2 of which are in C-Stores. The closest to me is located on the Oklahoma State University Campus. I suppose I might try it out. Sadly since the lightning strike that occurred summer of 2010 that took out it's system board it really hasn't had the same up time it once did. That being said, I've had pretty good luck with it of late. Maybe just bad luck? Speaking of Prowler, the red train is missing it's badging on the front grill. Anyone know what happened to it? The ride crew members I asked didn't know. -

^^^You really do think Branson is a ghost town yet you avoid the strip because it's too crowded. Branson Landing and the Outlet Mall put the original mall out of business. It happens in every town, something new and better opens up, people flock to it. Chad "That town is not going anywhere so deal with it" Carter
