I don't remember how I got back to the hotel last night, but the important thing is that I did. And since I don't remember that I'm pretty sure I didn't anything about me here. So... As my forum name might suggest I'm Chad of Chadster's Vacation Adventures and have been around theme parks since I was 2 and have been on TPR about 2 years now. Traveling is my main hobby, afterall I have spent all by the last 5 years in some sort of service industry profession ranging from hotels to casinos and a few things in between. For the most part I base my travel on nearby attractions and parks and not just, oh that sounds like a fun place to see, although I have been known to drive several hundred miles just to eat at places featured on Triple D. Fortunately I am able to bring everyone some awesome content thanks to loads of vacation time and believe it or not, I only post about half of the places I visit each year on TPR! Last year I had planned to partake however a planned trip got in the way. Why do I want to do this? Well for the children, yes. But what sparked my interest in helping out was a young boy in Mom's Kindergarten class. At 3 years old he was diagnosed with cancer of the inoperable kind. The cancer began spreading rapidly to various parts of his body as his parents took him from Dr. to Dr. They were able to get him into an experimental program with oral chemo that slowed the cancer to the point it was no longer spreading. He had his good days and bad days where he was either too weak to walk or full of energy. But through it all he kept a positive outlook on life and to him, everything that was going on was just normal. To the rest of us it was nothing short of amazing to see how well he adapted to his situation. So when the opportunity to raise money for GKTW, an organization that provides children with similar medical issues the opportunity to truly be normal for even a week came along, I had to jump on it as it has a special meaning. Places like the GKTW Village and Victory Junction do wonders for the morale of kids and parents alike. And for that one week parents don't have to worry about how they are going to pay the bills, where is the next meal coming from, or when is the next Dr. appointment, they can just be a family and watch their child be happy. So whether you donate to me or someone else, I don't care. $5 helps a lot, just think if every member on TPR dontated just $5 how much money that would raise to provide a week of happiness. Oh, and as for the boy, he's about 11 now, living a somewhat normal life while still taking chemo pills from time to time. And to think, the Doc's said he wouldn't make it past 5. Please donate so I don't have to eat this dog.

But you'll be with a fun group of people, doing something you love, and for a good cause! --Robb Possibly slightly insane too!! But seriously I wanted to do this last year but a certain NE trip prevented that from happening, but this year I'm all in! Why, well I'll tell everyone tomorrow when I post up yet another chance to get junk to fill your drawers and donate for a good cause! Edit: Yeah I know, double post...

The Mysterious B&M Green Wingrider Track
chadster replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFOT just got the New Texas Giant last year. I wouldn't expect anything new and 'amazing' for a few more years. Plus the park is pretty landlocked, not tons of space to go around anymore. You must not forget they own the strip mall that is designated for demo and if the new swirled up rumors hold true about the rang leaving and an expanded DC Universe, it's plausible. I mean let's face it, before NTAG, I believe Titan was their last major attraction and its 10 years old now. Six Flags is also said to want to add something new and different to each of their parks each year in some fashion. I forget who X-Works translates to though. Maybe someone else does. -

Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!

A few weeks ago the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art located on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma began displaying a private collection titled "A Century of Magic: The Animation of the Walt Disney Studios" Included in the exhibit are more than 80 original Animation Cels from the Collection of Janis Scaramucci and Domer “Jay” Scaramucci, some signed by Walt Disney himself and other signed by those who played the part of Walt's characters. A Century of Magic surveys many of the major animated films, beginning with the first feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), and concluding with Fantasia/2000 (1999). As you can imagine with any art gallery where the use of flash is prohibited, it was challenging to get decent photos that showed the multiple layers that make up a single animation cel. It was not uncommon to see four or more layers to each animation cel, all which start with a background layer. The gallery lighting was especially challenging trying to position to remove glare, so please keep that in mind as shooting a reflective surface with lights shining down on it isn't all that easy The exhibit opened March 3rd and runs through September 16th with special showings of various of Disney movies and kids activities throughout the exhibition. Admission to the museum is free to OU students with a current student ID and museum association members, $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children 6 to 17 years of age, $2 for OU faculty/staff, and free for military veterans with proof and children 5 and under. The museum is closed on Mondays and admission is free on Tuesdays. If you are in town for a credit run at Frontier City or live within a few hours its certainly worth checking out! Welcome to "A Century of Magic"! Join me as I take you on a magical journey of Walt Disney Classics! "Ferdinand the Bull" 1938 - Ink and gouache on celluloid. HEHEHE, and I have many more pictures too that I can taunt you with As far as the show, I wouldn't look for anyone to pick it up, many of the players are unofficially glad it's gone, that is was becoming a drama fest. GOOD NEWS! The $50 milestone has been met! This Monday I will release the Disney Animation Cel PTR! -

Yikes! One would think with the next gen Timberliners up and running well that putting together a few more trains wouldn't be an issue. Seems either they have a fault in their manufacturing process that has slowed the production down too far or that have bitten off more than they can chew. At this point I'd have to be looking at all my options unless they are going to end up getting them at cost. -
Happy Valley Shanghai Trip Report

Fantastic park, a must on the bucket list. I am blown away at how well the park themes their rides. IMO when a compact coaster is themed well it adds a little something to the experience. Thanks for the pics! -
Ok guys, as you can see below I'm Riding Mamba for 6 hours {edit: I hear Prowler and Patriot will be rotated in now, whew} to raise money for Give Kid's the World. So far I'm up to $30 thanks to some terrific TPR members, thanks guys! So, in an effort to make things more interesting, I am holding out some "Premium" episodes of CVA for milestones reached in fundraising. First Milestone: $50 Adventure to be Released: A look at what is billed as one of the worlds largest private collection of Disney Animation Cels over the last Century. I was able to view over 80 different cels ranging from Dumbo to Aerial and have the pictures to prove it! Some were even signed by Walt Disney himself! So, all you Disney fanatics out there, kick in $5 (we only need four people!) and I'll detail the exhibit and tell you where you can see it for yourself! Second Milestone: $75 Adventure to be Released: I have no shame in riding kiddie coasters, and this report will prove it. Three kiddie coasters at three different parks. All three parks visited for the sole purpose of whoring their kiddie coaster. Third Milestone: $125 Adventure to be Released: An adventure to what is Kansas' only amusement park, plus a visit to a Smithsonian affiliated Space Museum and as an added bonus photos from a defunct park! Added: Fourth Milestone: $200 Adventure to be Release: Coasting for Kids day at WoF PLUS I will pick at random one person who has donated at least $5 to my page to send a box of sh!t too from the park! Note: I will never ever in a million years release the above listed adventures unless the stated milestones are achieved. Release dates will be listed when the milestones are hit. One again, Thanks for your donations! And if you have never been to my thread, well, click the link below. Do it now. Don't wait. I guarantee a happy ending.
