^^Good seeing you today ^You will want to take them off or have them strapped, almost lost mine today, something that I've never had happen. (You'll see that in the onride that'll be uploaded later) In fact I would not at all be surprised to see the park require a strap or to secure them in a pocket or with a non-rider. Full report coming up as soon as I dry out! Crazy fun!

I have two hoods but no farms; should probably finish decorating the south hood. Only have a strip and a half of land left to acquire and then I'll be relegated to making things disappear or squeezing things together which I'd rather not do. I'm quite fond of my government, retail, and beach districts.

Is it me, or do these 45 day quests get old?

That port-a-john is sexy looking

Yeah, Brockman has to be free to start it, but he's one of the main DNA earners. Slaughterhosue will set you back 1.2 million and comes with Dora. So I'm with you, either going to slow play the update and save it for when there is nothing else going on, or pass on it completely until nothing else is going on. The upgrades though really pile on the goodies, just too bad they hand out fertilizer on what seems to be an 8 to 1 ratio to DNA.
-
Yippee! Crafted the farmers market! Now I get to wait for the 24hr build time. :/ I've got my spray at level 14, makes a huge difference in how fast fertilizer and whatnot piles up. Now it's time to collect DNA.

Wow, so the upgrades on the spray have really been paying off. In less than 24 hours I've managed to increase my fertilizer count by 2500 and now only 4k from getting the farmers market. Woot.

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
chadster replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've heard the front gate rumor for a while now. Given the success of the new front gates at CP, CW, KD, and KI I would expect a front gate along the same caliber should a remodel take place. -
The magnetic plates that the fins pass through are adjustable so as to provide you with a smooth, non-violent ride. Keep in mind that the final fin placements were just made a few days ago and that it will take some time to tweak the trains. You are guaranteed to flip at least 6 times but could be more depending on how fat or skinny you and your riding partner are.

Silver Dollar City (SDC) Discussion Thread
chadster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Silver Dollar City has sent us information about this years' Bluegrass and BBQ Festival! (Branson, Mo. 5/2015) One of the nation’s top bluegrass events, Silver Dollar City’s Bluegrass & BBQ brings the heat, from the hottest bands in bluegrass to the slow-smoked barbecue, May 7 – 25 at the Branson, Missouri theme park. The festival “presents more bluegrass bands on multiple stages to more new audiences than any other event in the nation,” said Nancy Cardwell, International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Executive Director 2012-14. Awarded Bluegrass Event of the Year by the IBMA, the world’s largest organization of bluegrass music professionals, Bluegrass & BBQ this year presents more than 40 bands on multiple stages throughout the park, with international award-winning musicians, Grammy nominees, fan favorites and chart-climbing new bands coming for the festival. Award-winning Grammy-nominated performers include Rhonda Vincent, described as the “Queen of Bluegrass Music” by the Wall Street Journal and 7-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year, performing with The Rage, the most awarded band in bluegrass; Balsam Range, winners of the 2014 IBMA Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year; Blue Highway, with 15-time IBMA Dobro Player of the Year and 2014 Songwriter of the Year; and the Grascals, two-time IBMA Entertainer of the Year. Newer artists include Flatt Lonesome, Driven, The Lindsey Family, The Baker Family and The Willis Clan, featured on America’s Got Talent and starring in their own show on the TLC network. Unique artists include The Kruger Brothers, bluegrass musicians from Switzerland, whose repertoire ranges from traditional bluegrass to Bach to R&B songs. Spotlighting the next generation of bluegrass talent, the park presents an annual Youth in Bluegrass band contest, set for May 23, with 21 bands from around the country competing for honors. Another top feature is the barbecue, and The House of BBQ serves up a flavor feast from St. Louis-style ribs and smoked chicken to Texas brisket and pulled pork -- direct from large outdoor charcoal grills and the park’s custom-made 20-foot long smoker. An all-you-can-eat BBQ rib feast is featured on the Square each afternoon with fall-off-the-bone smoked ribs in four flavors, plus SDC’s famous 18-hour smoked brisket, along with smoked pork, chicken and sausage. Silver Dollar City is open daily during Bluegrass & BBQ, May 7 – 25, except for Tuesdays, May 11 & 18. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sunday, May 24). For information and performers’ schedules: 800-831-4FUN(386), or http://www.silverdollarcity.com. -
I stopped upgrading my building right before the add DNA character point, meh to DNA. The spray on the other hand has come in handy. I did read where the Bob want a be's should be paying 5 gas masks but some glitch occurs after you get prize 3 and you get relegated to just 3 gas masks. Allegedly they are working on a solution. I'm lacking about 7k fertilizer before the farmers market, ugh.

^^Thanks, the ride queue is looking good and the newly installed sign should glow nicely in the evening hours. Sorry you got caught up during school bandathon, it's the same in Arlington today as well, only worse! They have directional signage up when exiting the freeways for the buses and having them circumvent the normal route and head around to the back lot; 100+ buses easy. On a positive note, the ride crews at SFFT are most always on point, even on a full queue day for rattler I've only waited 30 minutes. Hope the same held true for you!

^Yeah, that's pretty typical during the school year, once the groups leave, the cats will play. I believe it was science day or something so the schools have free reign until 2pm at which time they open to the public. Incidentally today over at AT&T Stadium is the annual Draft Party, free to the public, has a small selection of rides, cheerleader photo op, player autograph op, and other activities from 11-5. So if you're going to the park today, might as well stop by.

My question is (even though not listed because they may not be "Major" attractions,) has anyone been to the park and noticed if Judge Roy Scream, or La Vibrator has a THE FLASH Pass line? If not what time of day would be best to hit up those two rides? Considering we will probably only end up riding each of those once. EDIT: Also, now that New Texas Giant is finally on THE FLASH Pass where as before it was only with Platinum and you had to make a reservation with an employee in THE FLASH Pass building at the time you purchased THE FLASH Pass... does anyone know if you can use THE FLASH Pass for New Texas Giant just like any other coaster? Where you can make reservations for it more than once in during your visit? La Vibrator (La Vibora) is on The Flash Pass and shares an entry point with the single rider line opposite end of the regular line near the photo hut. Judge Roy can pretty much be ridden whenever, the lines rarely get over 15 minutes long, if and they do its a hellishly busy day in which case just wait until after 8pm. Keep in mind that Justice League will not be open if you are going in a few days and on Titan you are not allowed to ride twice under the Plat Pass. On Titan you can inform the FP rep who should allow you to get straight back in line. I believe there is one other ride that follows the same protocol now, but can't remember what it is, it might be Texas Giant(which now works like the others). On a Plat Pass you likely won't wait more than 15 minutes to have a re-ride time, just remember that as soon as it's scanned at the ride to queue up the next ride.

This past Sunday I met up with Marketing Director Jeffrey Siebert to take a little tour of the park. The Batman construction site was buzzing with activity, ride operations were impeccable, and the weather was, well, a sauna. But don't let the warm weather keep you away for this weekend the water park, included in your park admission, opens! So lets sum up this visit: --Concrete pathways and whatnot are being installed at Batman: The Ride in preparation for theming to sprout out of the ground this week! --Crews have begun installing the flipper fins after having tested the rides essential systems --Even without the fins the ride flips nicely on it's own, who knows, you might be constantly flipping the entire ride! --Everything is on schedule for passholder preview on May 16! --Parking meters have been installed in Rockville, plug them and donate to charity! --Frisbee will soon be up and running! --Zipline pieces have started to arrive, installation coming up very soon! --I swore I had photos of Saengerfest Hall, which is where dinner was had, but I don't. However, its an excellent choice as they have four different eateries in air-conditioned comfort. Oh, and if you like watching cartoons and movies, you'll find that in there too, so check it out! So, how's about some photos? Yes? Ok. I always smile when I arrive here, mostly because I know I'm going to have a great time Kind of like these people! Do you see a snake anywhere? I swear I heard a rattle somewhere... Hands down my favorite mine train ride. Who says a ride has to be a world record breaker to have fun and get a little hair-time in the process? Not I. Why hello there, how are you? That's good to hear. Yes I know but they won't let me. In a few weeks tho. Ugh. Moving on...(Hey park guests LOVE this ride, it is what it is) Kinda looks like Batman is munching on the wave swinger. But I digress It sure was windy on this day, so why don't we blow on over to Rockville and check things out. Horray for Hollywood You really do feel like you're on a movie set in this area, love it. This would not be Rockville It's a bird, it's a plane, its flipper fins being installed! Big Ride, Big Tools Something tells me that Batman is not a hustler. Safety fencing has gone in as well as the start of the pathways leading to the ride. Superman anxiously awaits his new friends' arrival. The overflow queue area is being smoothed over and the station roof is about finished. And waaaaay back there concrete has been poured in preparation for the batmobile and other themed elements to be installed beginning this week. Sexy flipping fins Sexy chain Sexy man lift No choo choo, do not run in to Batman, bad train, bad. Sexy curves So the zipline has started to arrive, ohhh ahhhh This here ride will fly you over superman, yes, over. And up to the top of the quarry wall. You will go up and back three times. All of this plus a ride on the sling shot for the low low estimated price of just $15 You'll enter the ride in this general area. Now if you've not ridden one these, basically a winch will pull you to the top and you'll fly back down in a something that I can best describe as a ski lift chair. Anyway, it's possible it will be open Memorial Day weekend. So that is about all I have this trip, as you can tell most of what is taking place now is getting the site ready and installing the flipper fins which who knows, might even be complete by now. So get ready, Batman: The Ride opens to the public Memorial Day weekend! Here is a public service announcement for anyone traveling in Texas during tornado season. Most all of the rest stops have built in tornado shelters. And late Sunday night there was a need for me and about 150 new friends to try one of them out as Mr. Twister was in our path along I-35. Between lightning strikes we were able to see one of those little boogers and when the outflow winds hit us, we stampeded the shelter. Fortunately that's all it was, high winds, but as the storm cleared and I forged ahead you could see the damage, many semis turned over, debris all over the place. Kinda surreal. Anyway, if you ever find yourself in that situation while on the road, well, here's to hoping a rest stop is near you.

^Its not Texas culture, its the internet in general. Declining by degrees. It also doesn't help that numerous projects have been announced and faded within the state over the last many years so many are speculative. I'm personally still reserved on whether they get the theme park portion going, but no doubts the ball fields, RV park, and water park will get done. The ball fields will bring in huge money and visiting teams will love the RV park and camping grounds. But when it comes to brass tax I don't know if a mega theme park would do well considering most games are played from sun up to sometimes sun down and players will be pooped and not care about rides. (I'm reminded of Celebration City) Now, if they went with something along the lines of Mt. O, minus the crap maintenance and operations, then I could see the rides park flourish.

The release of air pressure when the carriage reaches its pre-determined point. Compressed air contains moisture and as a result of the valve opening to release the excess air pressure, out goes the moisture. Generally compressed air is filtered using a drier but if the air is too humid, not a lot you can do to get all of the moisture out. That or the drier is full and needs to be drained.
