  1. No question, those pigs are pretty goddamned cute. Any dark rides at this fair?! I've never been, but the coaster collection is impressive.
  2. Haven't paid too much attention to the development of this new hotel option, but it looks dynamite! And that "Surf on Surf Burger" sounds SO GOOD.
  3. ^That's pretty cool; Thunderball is a Connery classic and the underwater stuff is great. Will need to rewatch that one soon.
  4. I'm very grateful to say that I've never had a really awful time at any amusement park, but the worst day I've had was entirely my fault. Way back in the late '80s, a group of us decided to go to Magic Mountain on a Saturday in July. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It was hotter than blazes, and the park was crammed - CRAMMED - with people. We spent 8 hours there, all of that time waiting to get on three rides. Have not made, and will never make, that mistake again.
  5. And people get worked up every time Disney raises their prices... You two really took one for the team at this place. But now I'm very curious to know what the Bond people shot there!
  6. This all does look more impressive than I'd expected; pretty cool, actually. I'd pay $5 to see this, at least once. Especially as I'm not likely to live long enough to see a real "Jurassic Park," which I desperately want to.
  7. So glad this all turned out to be such a success; WELL DONE, everyone who got out and rode! Awesome, awesome work. Another suggestion for next year: Vekoma should have to match, dollar for dollar, every contribution to someone stuck riding on an SLC for the event. (You folks at Michigan's Adventure are HARD CORE!!!)
  8. Very cool look at the backstage stuff! So great that the've kept some of the old ride posters, sign pieces, etc. Love SCBB!
  9. ^That is INCREDIBLE. I may have to travel to this part of the world JUST to do this.
  10. I do have to admit that they did a great job with refurbing and retheming this coaster. Plus zombies at the media preview? Very full of win!
  11. The 300-foot-tall Kissimmee SkyCoaster is the only experience I've ever had that made me literally tremble with fear. That was severely messed up. Once we started flying, it was exhilarating, but I'm NEVER forget that slow trip up. The Big Shot on the Stratosphere tower is a very close second, especially when the ride op started the phony launch count-down before we were all strapped in. Hardy-effing-har-har...
  12. Coming kind of late to this update, but it was typically awesome. Here's me looking at the pictures: "Oh, cool, I love old Santa's Village type places! ... Cute princess!... Wow, nice that they put a little work into theming up their Dragon Coaster, that's cute, well done... Yeah, that fire truck ride looks FUN!... Yeah, turtles are always a pleasu- HOLY EFFING CHRISTMAS THAT IS NASTY!!!1!!1!!!" (I HATE tarantulas... )
  13. I had to google "Arachnoquake"... Sweet baby Jesus, just look at Edward Furlong: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/06/05/arachnoquake-2/ Kids, don't do drugs.
  14. It's been a couple of years since my last Holiday World visit and I can't tell you how glad I am to hear Voyage is running well. 50 rides? That just sickens me with jealous rage. Seriously, glad to know HoliWood Nights delivered, per usual. You've got some gorgeous photos here!
  15. Must get to Germany... must get to Germany... must get to Germany... Great shots all around. Keep them coming!
  16. Just finished reading this entire thread; what a pleasure. Every page is loaded with so much charm, and I laughed heartily more times than I can count. Thanks so much for the incredible time and effort you've put into this delightful trip report!
  17. The guy on the Cyclone looks like a total d-bag, but still, that's pretty funny.
  18. What a fantastic trip report: the Andes road, the up-close-and-personal encounter with the big cats (INSANELY JEALOUS), all the funky credits, and this enormous abandoned park... Amazing. So glad you had this epic experience! Very much dug the tile-encrusted lane dividers in that coaster boarding station. Unique.
  19. Maybe it's just me, but I'm enjoying that they're saying absolutely nothing about this project. Who knows; perhaps it's all part of some grand plan?
  20. Side-splitting report and now I'm super-jazzed for my own trip back to the Big Apple this July. CUPCAKES! Isn't this how Gargamel was conceived?
  21. ^What she said. I'm going to do it, but holy hell...
  22. Even with that freaky Santa, Winter-Mir looks incredible. I sure wish more inverted Beemers had loop-threading spirals. That is awesome. Must ride someday. Bug-eating kid on El Toro is indeed very, very funny. Lake Erie weather is SCARY!! (Love this thread.)
  23. It's been so long since I last rode them, but I'm sort of bummed that Twisted Sisters (yeah, eff you, Dee Snider) is a goner. It wasn't a Top Ten ride or anything, but fun, as I recall. T2, on the other hand, can rust right down into hell. (I kid, of course: Dee Snider's awesome. But Twisted Sisters was a great name for that ride.)
  24. Another cool find, and congratulations on 99 undocumented coasters! That is quite impressive!
