  1. Fantastic photos! I love how they still operate a handful of their coasters despite the snow.
  2. Because it takes more staff, which can be hard to find and more importantly expensive. Yes, but on the other end of the spectrum, would you rather have the people in line getting annoyed by the already slow operations and not buying anything? Or wandering around the park with all the smells of foods and lights of a gift shop? It only takes one employee to be in a second station to make sure unloading happens, this is how Cedar Point does it with Millennium Force, it works very well. This option is available if the client (SF Corp) requests it! SF doesn't request coasters be built with separate unloading platform. Efficiency is not SF's game.
  3. RCS has a traveling version from Fabbri still in operation. It grabs a lot of attention at the OC Fair here in So Cali, especially at night. The SFStL version is from Bussink Rides and was originally a traveling version converted into a park model.
  4. You pose an a great questions that I've been wondering myself. My guess would be that clients don't request inversions to reduce costs.
  5. Some Foods department managers will be losing their jobs....if not already.
  6. Some B&M parts can be used and I know Premier manufacturers parts for coasters from other manufactures so they might be making parts for Giovanola coasters as well.
  7. They must have been moving pretty slow. That queue FULL is only 40-45 minutes if they aren't stacking trains and the queue should continuously move.
  8. Might be to cool the wheels? Titan @ SFOT and I:305 spray water on wheels.
  9. 2-3 seconds is the way it has been for the past 9 years.
  10. They were 7ft from the ground!! Not sure about you but that would've scared thew sh*t out of me! I'm sure their lives flashed before their eyes! Hopefully they were compensated with free hotel stay and comp tickets. That's the least the park could have done for their inconvenience.
  11. My brother said that Legoland CA is very busy on Christmas week. So if LLC is very busy this week, the same can be said about Six Flags Magic Mountain. My brother said that the 26th is the better day to go because it is a rest day after Christmas Day while the 23rd is way busier because a lot of visitors are coming in town to visit families and have a plan to do something before Christmas Eve. Plan on any amusement park to be insanely crowded for the next 2 weeks!
  12. Locals and those on vacation with an extra day to spare. Slow days while school is in session usually pull in about 1200-1500 guests.
  13. I assume it's an electrical equipment room for Crow's nest.
  14. Another wonderful WET Design.
  15. ^Your input and expertise is always appreciated in this thread. I remember a few times while at Silver Bullet, birds would take the ride down by flying through the main brake and being picked up by a photo eye.
  16. Yes but no one hears about it because it's silent.....
  17. ^It was S&S's intro into the Roller Coaster world. So what if a support came off its foundation!!
  18. Their maintenance staff had it running like a dream. It still had downtime sure, but not nearly as bad as the year it opened where it would be closed for days on end. I was hoping it would get relocated as well. I remember the summer X and Deja Vu opened they were never both open on the same day. If you pulled into the parking lot and saw X running, you knew Deja would be down for the day.
  19. Silver Bullet has photo eyes at the top of the lift, Main brake, and near the service brake just before the transfer. None used in the station.
