Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So I'm going to Wonderland some time next week (during the week), what will I expect with wait times? -
The Mysterious B&M Green Wingrider Track
CorkscrewFoley replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I might catch some flak here, but I'm relieved it wasn't going to the Point. I'd like to see another small coaster (height wise) than a Wing rider. I'm not saying I wouldn't ride it (and enjoy it), but I'd like to see something like a more intense polar Xplorer, or a coaster with the drop sequence. -
Chuck's Busch Gardens Williamsburg Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Steve, doesn't Maverick have six trains? Chuck, great TR and what a simple and effective way to see how long capacity is. I gotta say 30-40 minutes is pretty damned good! Oh yeah, nice watch. -
Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
CorkscrewFoley replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Uh... The GP have infiltrated the site, I hope Robb & Elissa have some kind of contingency plan for this. Best ending: Raptor...I love that car accident sensation. Phantom's Revenge. Vortex @ CW. Worst: Expedition Everest. Fun ride, but aside from the Yeti, it just felt underwhelming. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
CorkscrewFoley replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was just watching a POV of Knightmare from Camelot, and one of the posters said 'it's just like Raging bull, but it's rusty.' Sorry, I could've posted it like he did, but that kind of illiteracy simply irks me. -
I too go by a modified version of RCDB, but I count travelling coasters. As for relocated, I'll admittingly get the cred, but if the ride was moving around alot, that begins to draw the line. I'll admit I'm a credit whore, I once tried to convince myself at my last job that (in the middle of winter) riding a shopping cart down a small ramp inside was a credit...obviously it's not, but you have to make fun of yourself. In the end, for me anyway, this hobby is just about having fun. Pardon the bad pun, but that's how I roll...(I expect to be banned for that downright crappy pun). lol

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That's exactly what I was going to say...I'd have rather it been closed for a year, and let Gerstlauer go and do their thing with it. This was one Anton they couldn't save... -

If the Haunted Hospital is anything like the hospital from the first Silent Hill, i'd go to Fuji Q just for that... -
Photo TR - A.J. goes to a Six Flags Park!

I feel bad for the ops, having to do that all day...and yes Chuck, it does look like an awkward dance. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
CM Punk is not impressed with this announcement... Kidding aside, I think it's a wonderful idea, and if Kennywood is going to limit how many you have, then why the hell not. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This actually looks like it's going to be sweet. And I agree changes were needed. I just don't get excited about fire works, so something like this would actually make me want to watch it... -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread
CorkscrewFoley replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sorry, anyone who bought into the hype, even a little bit, should be ashamed of themselves. When Thirteen came out, or was in the works, I never bought into the crap coming out. i think it looks like a fun coaster, family ride of course, and that's all there is. I understand parks want to hype up their new rides, but to what limit? The viral marketing for SubTerra looked fantastic, and like Neil said, it looks like it has gobs of potential. I reckon Merlin might have learnt their lesson... -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

How is it tragic? They switched seats...is it possible to hand out the Darwin Award to two participants? -
I'd definite would love to do a TPR Cruise. My last one was with Disney, and I definitely took full advantage of the food and the booze, but when it's all families, you don't get the adult time like you want. Honestly, I talked to more people in the bahamas than I did on the Cruise...wouldn't complain though, I had a blast. Nothing like being rocked to sleep drunk.

Everyone keeps making comparisons with Batman and Raptor, how would Oziris compare to Black Mamba? Isn't Mamba one of their more intense inverts?
